Regardless of whether EZ D6 is open or not, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you DM Scotty for being a true inspiration for GM's and a solid pillar in the ttrpg community! You are an absolute LEGEND!
@@theDMsCraftBesides that, while I suppose that in principle you _could_ be a complete asshole, everything you've ever posted suggests the diametrically opposite conclusion. Especially this announcement On ya go, Scotty. You'll be like TSR in 1982 soon. Very best wishes.
Love EZD6 only beeing running a campaign for a few months now and its made me feel like a seasoned vet! This is the best way to get into TtRPG hands down! Such a welcoming and friendly community. Cheers!
What a lovely guy! You come across so well, Scotty. My birthday on Sunday and, hopefully EZD6 and the Quest book turning up for me! Excited, even at my age... you and I are from the same venerable generation of gamers!😂😂😂
To all DM's: GET THE BOOK OF QUESTS NOW! It's awesome! The adventures are super fun, and they are written to run at the table. With other modules I often have to parse through them and make my own runnable version. Not with QUESTS! Everything is in bullet points -- just enough to set the scene -- then let your players loose. My group just completed the first adventure and they're ready for more.
I second this. I just completed my first game of EZD6, running The Pest Control. I had *no* time to prepare the game itself (I had read the rules at least;) but the instructions were detailed enough to steer me (and consequently the players) so that nothing felt random, and yet "freeform" enough to allow for all sort of mad happenstances and on the fly reactions to my player's madness. BOTH books are really must-have!
Brilliant - I’m working on hacking EZD6 for a homebrew game. I could only ever dream of publishing anything but knowing that you have given your blessing with the OGL is amazing.
My man Scotty! Coming through like a champ as always. Congrats on all your success man, you've certainly earned it. Thanks for all you do as well as just being an all around awesome individual. Love your game.
Love the Book of Quests, DM Scotty. You are too right concerning how easy it is to port the quests into the game system I play. So fun. Indie games rock!

Just received the hardcopy of Book of Quests. I like it a lot and gives me the same vibes of 12 yo me browsing an extravagant english book called 'rogue trader'... Thanks for this :)
After looking the materials over, what he's actually doing here doesn't require any sort of separate license. The Community Content document lays out what you need to do to avoid violating his copyright (1. don't copy his expression of the rules verbatim, and 2. don't copy his art), which would already have you protected. What he is actually offering is to allow you to claim compatibility with ezd6 on a product that already meets those requirements. The most important points are actually points 3 and 4 on the Community Content document, where it notes that as the copyright holder he can sign off on anything if you contact him, and then gives his contact information. While I'm sure Scotty isn't out there looking to sue anybody for anything, because he really is a fantastic guy, I would still advise anybody to get his written permission before actually putting a product up for sale that makes direct reference to ezd6.
@@njp4321 "While I'm sure Scotty isn't out there looking to sue anybody for anything, because he really is a fantastic guy, I would still advise anybody to get his written permission before actually putting a product up for sale that makes direct reference to ezd6." I have to pipe up here & say that interpretation is very, very deep into 'chilling effect' territory. Copyright does not give a creator control over ANY direct reference to a product, nor for that matter does trademark. Assertions that you need to contact Scotty for something along the lines of listing suggested systems for a system neutral adventure or setting, or a Appendix-N style inspiration list are, frankly asinine. Not making any assumptions on motive here... but your takeaway here IS bad due to having anti-competitive & anti-consumer implications.
@theDMsCraft @njp4321 @kgoblin5084 I have no grand designs or tentative plans to create a work derived DM Scotty's product. I was just curious b/c the term OGL has recently become synonymous with WizBros and their PR debacle. Thanks for clearing things up for me :)
Does Hankerin'/Brandish count as a goon? I wouldn't necessarily mind having that goon at my door plus I know I could bribe him with a malty frosty brew.
the demon has 4 attacks, claw, claw, bite, horns, does it make 4 attacks rolls when it attacks a hero or does it make one attack with one of those 4 attack options? The reason for confusion is earlier in the book you wrote monsters get 1 attack maybe 2 of the RR deems that it should, but enemies like the demon have 4 attacks. I am a programmer so having attack used both times with conflicting results is what is really confusing me, I know this should probably be a simple implied thing and probably lands under, the demon gets 1 attack and has 4 attack options for that attack, but I don’t know because it is stated that monsters have 1 attack but the demon says it has 4 attacks. So when it says a monster has 4 attacks what does that mean? I can’t find a proper explanation on a monster attack count
It gets 4 attack rolls and needs a 3+ to hit player characters.
4 attack rolls on its turn or 4 different attack rolls to choose from on it’s turn?
My apologies I should have clarified the first time.
