George was buried today May 2, 2013 at Nashville. The Possum was laid to rest today. His memorial service was today at the Grand Ole Opry. The father of Country music had to leave us at the age of 81 See you on the other side Possum.
This man is all singer look at him his veins don't pop out of his neck when he sings . George is just the best there is the best there was the best there ever will be
2020 and this is still a great song/clip 51ish years since it first aired on heehaw. May his songs continue to be listened too for many more years to come 💞
my brother n law told my sister too play this song when its his time to go.he died 2 weeks later in a horrible car accident.great song, but very sad for me
Probably, might be why he didn’t sing the second verse but sang the chorus three times 😊. Despite that, he was still a better singer than 99% of today’s so-called country singers. Nobody’s going to fill his shoes.
this song should be a tribute to great Singer Elvis Presley. to his wife Priscilla who he loved until the day they laid him down so sad she couldn't gave him what he wanted the most another chance. to be w his family to be happy. but it was too late for them. Sandra Miller. I love this song by the great Singer George Jones. he was a great Singer to. but Elvis Presley was my favorite. singer. a still is I miss them both. may they both rest in peace a be Happy. Sandra Miller

My God, that voice! The best!
The great Don Rich and Charlie Justice play twin fiddles on this one. WOW !!
Wow, amazing you saw Don Rich! He's barely visible in the back. What a fun and talented performer Don Rich was!
You noticed that too lol
This live version is amazing. You can feel the emotion, and the violins and steel guitar are better that the recording.
