Just a day after the darkest day in our history (too soon to tell if 1/6/2020 is going to overtake that) as we were still reeling from those terrible images of what happened in NY, DC, and in Pennsylvania, HM did something she did not have to do BUT SHE DID. Having the band of your venerable and elite Coldstream Guard’s play OUR national anthem AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE (not for a state visit) is something I’ll never forget as I watched it as a 17yr old senior in high school. I cried for a good while after seeing that display of brotherhood & friendship. I watch it every anniversary of that awful day to reflect and cry, I suspect now I’ll be shedding extra tears for her HM now that she’s gone. I’ve loved her ever since that day. Cheers! You are going to get through this, you’re a tough people, it’s like the Blitz seared into your collective DNA a toughness few people can match. I have no doubt, using her memory as a source of inspiration, that you will rise up better and more determined than ever to show the world what the British people are made of. I've never cried like I did when I learned what had happened. I learned it through a BBC pop up notification on my mobile, it took much to retain my composure before I excused myself from my family and sobbed. I've never known any other monarch in my whole 20+ years on this earth, and I never imagined it would be so soon. It just shows we must treasure that what we have left. My fondest memory of her, strange as it sounds, came on September 12, 2001. Just a day after the darkest day in our history (too soon to tell if 1/6/2020 is going to overtake that) as we were still reeling from those terrible images of what happened in NY, DC, and in Pennsylvania, HM did something she did not have to do BUT SHE DID.
Having the band of your venerable and elite Coldstream Guard’s play OUR national anthem AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE (not for a state visit) is something I’ll never forget as I watched it as a 17yr old senior in high school. I cried for a good while after seeing that display of brotherhood & friendship. I watch it every anniversary of that awful day to reflect and cry, I suspect now I’ll be shedding extra tears for her HM now that she’s gone.
I’ve loved her ever since that day.
Cheers! You are going to get through this, you’re a tough people, it’s like the Blitz seared into your collective DNA a toughness few people can match. I have no doubt, using her memory as a source of inspiration, that you will rise up better and more determined than ever to show the world what the British people are made of.

Regardless of how you think of the role of a monarchy or the queen herself, we must remember that she was part of our history. Her reign saw the birth of most of us, no, of ALL of us.
Now we are going to a new era. But Elizabeth was the example of how a monarch should really be. Not an absolute ruler like the Saudis but as one who knew her limits and used them for the good of her country. Will this example continue or will the ideals of monarchy die with her. We will let time to decide.

I've never cried like I did when I learned what had happened. I learned it through a BBC pop up notification on my mobile, it took much to retain my composure before I excused myself from my family and sobbed.
I've never known any other monarch in my whole 20+ years on this earth, and I never imagined it would be so soon.
It just shows we must treasure that what we have left. She'll always be with us, that was her sign, the double rainbow outside of Buckingham, she's returned home to her father, her mother, and to her husband.

Whether you like her or not, there is no doubt that she was a woman that had a heart of gold but a will of steel. Two days before her death, when she met Liz Truss, her hands were blue. She knew the end was near, and so did many in Britain and abroad. But that didn't stop her from doing her job as the Queen and shows her dedication to the country. May her Majesty's soul rest in peace.
