As per your thinking one must not and never buy a, yaar India mae ek mentality hoti hai. If i can afford then i will but no other person must enjoy comfort and luxury. let him live in hell or poorly even he or she can afford cars. Negativity bro....
India only this much tax and motor department road tax this much and half of the cars price , this is very bad no other country do this , we should stop this before people pointing government
It's not car who is destroying our wealth that's the government who is doing this on the name of taxes like GST, Cess, Road Tax, Toll Tax , RTO and Unlimited tax on petrol and diesel upto 200% ++
can you tell me if govt. stops collecting tax from us then how they're going to maintain Roads, bridges, streetlights, etc. ? Do you have any another way?

Even if u have financial strength, this video is actually educating you to ask urself, is it useful. If I spend total of 13lacks in 5 yrs for a small car, can I do business more efficiently resulting in a better income? If ur interested only in transport, then don't buy. If u really need a comfortable transport, then buy 2nd hand which reduces cost hugely. If u use only once a month or rarely for vacations and stuff, just rent a car. Probably a luxurious car for few days and enjoy. It saves money than buying a new budget car
Exactly. Too many people make poor financial decisions and come and comment against the government as if the government forced them to purchase the car. If one cant afford it, dont buy it. Simple.
Reason why you have to buy car. - But agar gaddi nhi lete- i have to travel by ola , uber + surcharge -+ 30*commission (ola /uber) + 18%gst An indian daily travel 35km Per km charge -15rs per km Daily spending- =35*15=525 Yearly =525*365= 1,91,625 (approx ) 2lakh 5yearly = 10lakh (fuel price constant) If you sell the car -after 5years you will get 4lakh back here in case you will get anything. >You cant keep the luggage ,late night or odd hours cant travel, no privacy. 5family members cant travel together, dirty cars, ac not working, you cant keep hygiene, everytime you have to waste 10-15mins for waiting (wastage of time ), and many So i will choose my own car.
Just get a decent used car... We just need 2 spend according 2 our income on a reliable car... Its the overspending people generally do for showoff is the problem...
For commuting daily preferably take your own bike or electric scooter or public transport if travelling alone. If you are pooling car than it's good. It will be useful and save lot of money on fuel
I had 1 lakh. Wanted to buy a motorcycle. But I invested it on stocks. 10 years later it became 10 lakh. Wanted to buy a car, but invested in stocks. 10 years later I have 1 cr. I wanted to buy a house but invested in stocks. 10 years later I died. 💀
Yes, it's quickly replacing two wheeler. When I was in college, only bikes used to come to mind. Now when I'm working, I can't imagine traveling with my 4 year old, wife and parents on bike. Just not practical.
Having a second hand car is probably the most practical for middle class janta. I was about to buy a Fronx but then thought about my expenses and all and now have decided I can either wait or buy a second hand car which isn't that much used or have still 7-10+ years of life left
bike is still the best option for a single guy going to office, get a good bike around 2 lakh and enjoy less traffic and save almost half of car fuel@@ashishIMpro

Life isn't all about money. After the 2020 COVID outbreak, my father had a heart attack. There were no Ubers or rickshaws available, so I jumped in my own car and rushed him to the hospital. I saved his life. The doctors said if I'd been five minutes later, he would have been gone.
Car prons;- 1) khusi, which is most imp thing 😊 2) jab pese nhi h to mt lo..baki jarur leo, comfort & memories ❤ 3) Time saving in travel & no depending on others 4) Profesionaly its good value 5) mahol 🔥
BUT if no car then what? 1. Bike is not comfortable in India due to extreme weather, pollution and accident rate 2. Ola uber will cost you much more than your own car expense 3. Public vehicles like local trains, metro, buses are over crowded due to over population of India 4. Private shared vehicles like private buses or shared autos consumes your 3 times more time as they always want to keep their capacity full 5. Bicycles not possible due to no bicycle tracks, accident rates, weather, pollution, bicycle theft 6. Walking isn't possible as well because there are hardly any foot paths along the roads, ladies not safe walking alone etc.
You are so true bro I am actually trying to buy simple alto K10 car that too not new one used one that also is being difficult for me in Bangalore kind of metro cities only auto doesn't get booked a peak hours and it's very difficult to travel car would be best option
I watched a similar video in 2020...Had 7.5 lakhs to buy a car, Bought a used i20 for 5L. Bought 1500 shares with 2.5L in Adani Enterprises with an Average price of 167..Now its value is 31L😅❤.
I bought a car only after birth of my twin baby. Had i bought the same before my wife's pregnancy my life would have been easier. During those 20 months i spent around 2 lakhs for transportation. Having a car doesn't matter big or small is necessary these days. Now I enjoy every weekend with my twins and wife and I won't have to worry about rented car. Also having personal car is useful as you won't have to pack up bag every time going anywhere. Just load it in the car whatever way you want. Even i don't pack my baby's daily needs as i can keep those permanently in the car.
Issues with renting a car: 1) You cannot enjoy your trip fully as you have to travel with stranger 2) You have pre-determined time and you can't spend more time at any place if you want 3) If you want to stay at a place for a day or two they will charge hault and you have to also pay for the drivers stay , lunch , dinner 4) Suppose I want to go from point A to B but I don't want to return to point A then they will charge double the distance between A and B because they have to return without passengers to point A 5) In case of Emergency it will take some time to arrange a car 6) You cannot have unplanned trips So if you can afford a car definitely go for it but don't overspend to just show off or luxury...
Completely agree with all the points, better to buy a car which you can afford(not spending too much for show off) instead of not buying any car and believing that rented cars are same as personal cars.
Most people buy things which they can't afford... Even they stop caring about their family just to fulfill their useless desire. This video is very important and helpfull... It gives an alarm to a person who's just about to waste his money on something which he can't afford.
One common man pays taxes like European citizen do and gets services like bhutan 🇧🇹 Somalia 🇸🇴 in return from government educate your vushwaguru and his andhbakhts
Beg to differ. Pandemic is not an everyday thing, especially now that it's over. I used to have cars and two wheelers in the past. Counting from maintenance to parking spaces to extra expense - they were never a peace of mind. My life has become more simplified and peaceful once I got rid of these and opted for public tranport inclusive of local train, bus, ola, uber, carpool etc. Here I am talking about citylife. I lived rural life too for a long time and yes, both 2 wheelers as well as four wheelers are useful in rural life.
@@JustAnAtheisttwo wheelers are useful and justified,,,, acording to their prices. But you need 4 wheel only when yo have several business and work related trips etc....or if you have a anuwal income of more than 3 times of the car amount

Tru tru; if we only keep saving and saving and dont spend a bit on our hobby, our life is just in vain... Car is more of a necessity nowadays... Its just we shudnt overspend on it... But its similar on all things of life...

That's why I'll suggest always buy a 2nd hand car which is around 2-4 years old, this way you're getting a car which is in good condition almost new and the best part is it'll cost you very less as compared to a brand new car. For example if you're gonna buy a brand new honda city it'll cost you around 15 - 16 lakhs but if you buy a 2nd hand honda city which is around 2 - 3 years old you'll get it around 7-8 lakhs and now you can invest the money you saved in FD, PPF, Stocks or buying assets. Remember the people who are actually rich dosen't care what others think about them but the people who are not rich will always think about impressing others and will buy things which they can't afford. I mean it's not like you should always buy a 2nd hand car, you can buy a 1st hand car but only when you're at that level.
You always make choices in life. Buying a car at a time in life can lead to memories which are priceless. You can visit places at times without having to plan a lot. It's not the car that makes you poor but what you want to do and the choices you make based on your priorities. It's that informed choice. Not based on mathematics alone. But taking time into consideration as well. Because you will be able to save a bit and reach that financial goal. But time my dear friend once gone will not come back. I don't think any amount of money can give me the joy I feel when I go somewhere in my car with my wife and my parents. I believe ultimately it's the happiness that you see in your loved ones that counts. But then why does everybody keep making such videos ? - Because it is easier to explain numbers than emotions. And aren't we all becoming like machines who prioritise numbers over emotions. Just to be clear I bought a pre-owned car last year rather than waiting for another 1-2 years to buy a new one. Because time my dear friend is of the essence.
Very nice explanation , the emotions are countless, I have a dream from childhood to travel with my car across ,which I want even though my fianancial condition is not good at that time not a family support also, But once I become capable then I brought the car started with second hand, Now this is my trird car & I travelled almost every destination that I want by car with my family & the happiness i got which is priceless ,, Timely decision making with our financial condition gives you this ultimate joy,,,

Totally agree with the mathematics behind the video but sometimes we just forget that money supposed to make us feel good. For me personally I am working professional with decent enough savings and investments I personally believe owning a car or phone or anything that you like has a intangible benefit that cant be measured in money. Money gives me more happiness when it gets me comfort and convenience. Money in my accounts and investments doesnt make me feel any good anymore.
Absolutely, money in Investments and savings does not makes us happy anymore in current times. Times are not the same as the 90s, where everything was just slow as per the pace of that time. Cent % agree, your answer gave me solace..
Atleast someone gets it... These influencers only gather views by giving a negative perspective to everything... Don't buy a phone don't buy a car don't buy a house don't go on a foreign trip just save invest and then save invest some more... Sometimes self indulgence is necessary to just feel good... The feeling that ur hardwork is giving u an opportunity to own things is more satisfying than just seeing numbers increase in ur account
These influencer are also claiming education nd marriage as an expense, but I will says, if we don't do all this and why to earn and save the money. We should not dedicate our life to earn and do sip for all savings, only to make MF companies to run. I think nowadays it's trap to push all the money into MF
For city life, it's practical to go with public transport. But in rural areas, having a car can be useful. Besides you must have a two wheeler for solo commuting.
1. Saving rate. This single KPI can ensure you are on the top of the finances irrespective of how much wealth you have. Starting from 15-20% and taking it to 50-60% (along with common investment instruments) 2. As is mentioned by the gentleman in the interview, indulge youself with the interest and not with the principal (especially in the early part of wealth creation)

I think it's best to buy a used car/motorcycle. reasons: 1) you can get it the next day. no waiting period 2) You can get a 4-5 YO car for half the price 3) You can customize it as much as you want since it does not affect the waranty 4) you do not like it, you can sell it off without losing much money, sometimes you will be able to sell it for the same price as you bought it if its a discontinued model Preferably buy the car from the owner of the vehicle, not a dealer. Dealers charge too much commission. Only reason anyone should buy a new car is if: 1) you are a businessman and want to claim GST

Wow amazing video, just a quick question, what will you suggest if a person spends 30k to 35k a month on auto, cab and metro combined, should he go for a car???
Tax rules for car in India is nightmare for both customer and manufacturers. Because of that, luxury is just a dream for middle class. No wonder why automobile companies are leaving India.
Automobile companies are leaving India because of poor performance not because of taxes. Despite all the taxes, more than 40 lakhs passenger vehicles were bought in India in 2023. That is almost a 9 percent increase in sales from 2022. The industry is performing perfectly fine. Brands like Ford or Chevrolet left India because of their poor planning and inability to adapt to the market.
@@vanlandings7466 hey, Numbers are good, but you can also look at this way. 2020-21 people were suffering From corona, 2022 economy was in recovery phase. 2023- economy was in booming phase. Not only cars, but the purchase of everything was increased. And yes, there are other factors involved but major factors are tax. that's why Most of the sold are in less than 4 meter length category. And because of the price sensitive market of India, OEMs are focused on cost cutting. That's why I clearly mentioned the word 'luxury'. Just take the list of top 10 selling cars of India from your 40L cars. And if you dig down to the models, you'll realise that most of the cars sold in the top 10 are not even providing a touch screen display and digital console in their base model. I wonder if they are even providing Air begs in the base model. And you know most of the cars in that list are from Suzuki and they have a very poor safety rating. Most of the Indians buying cars are worth more than their half of annual income. Still they are getting very very basic features. Owning a car, worth of them don't give them true luxury. And in addition to this. In the country of nearly 1.4 billion. 40L (4 Million) is still nothing. Just to give you perspective of the difference- A million seconds is 12 days. A billion seconds is 31 years

Bhai , I.want to clear the confusion regarding tax structure., the cess is collected in the GST amount not in basic amount, for example Car basic rate is Rs 5,00,000 GST 28%. Rs. 1,40,000 Cess 17% (GST 1,40,000*17%) Rs 23,800 Total. Rs 6,63,800 This the tax calculation bhai
The cess calculation u r doing is wrong, the way u calculated is as per income tax where a person had to pay 4% cess on tax amount. But for GST cases like cars. Cess is calculated on car IDV value and not on tax amount. I work in CA firm so I know this.

When I was a kid, only rich people had cars. Only 2 people in our building had cars. Then advertisers sold the dream of owning a car to the middle class. Today they have made it a "necessity".
You are a great person. You are a born economist. This stupid country needs people who are eye openers like you. Never buy a new car always buy a second hand car sparingly used about 8 years old and you need to know how to maintain it, never go to the authorised dealer who will rob all your money on servicing, it has become a disease to change engine oil and oil filter every 4 thousand kms or 4 months. A petrol cars engine oil need not be changed until you clock 15 thousand kms if your engine bore is good or 18 months if you use it on a daily basis or atleast on alternate days. All engine oil cartons clearly mention that the shelf life of the sealed oil container is 5 years but if it's opened its life is only 2 years if it's unused. These authorised dealers / service stations they have the diagnostic tool which is the lap top tool which generates the DTC ( diagnostic trouble code) to identify sensors that are faulty which need to be replaced but these service stations dont use them, tell me what is the use it's like a Dr having a stethoscope made in London and feeling proud it's made in london without it being subject to use but lying idle in the cupboard. A Doctor who had a stethoscope made in India but who can put it to use is better than him.Any car whatever be the brand loses 33 percent of its value the moment it comes out of the showroom. Depreciation is calculated on the Ex showroom price not the on road price , it's calculated on the price of the base model not the top end. There after it loses 12 percent of the showroom price every year till the end of the 5th year there after 10 percent per annum on the depreciated whatever be it provided the vehicle has resale value and it's still in production , it's an entirely different story if it doesn't have resale value or if it's out of production, you can buy it for a song. No car is worth more than 55 thousand by the 12th year unless it's a Benz or BMW or something of that class. You can buy any sedan vw or skoda or Nissan or Toyota or maruti for that price dont climb up because the owner is not willing to give the vehicle. You will not get a single rupee more if you have to sell it the next day. Stick to 55 because the price drops to somewhere between 30 and 35 thousand by the 15th year. Never buy any sedan for anything more than 75 to 80 thousand when it's 10 years old. Almost all parts are available for all cars that are in production and even those that were stopped from production sone 20 years ago.
Well i disagree on not buying a car concept Having a car can actually motivate you to do better and enjoy in the process But you need to scarifice on other things 1. When buying a car.. use the 2X formula.. buy once if you can afford the car twice.. so i.e find what is the maximum car you can buy in the market.. calculate the on-road price then divide by 2 .. the value that comes it what you need to spend on buying a car(many people go for a car that the bank can finance thinking with future salary they can pay afterwards.. do the present calculation not future calcualtion 2. Don't buy apple products until you are a crorepati(oneplus provides enough performance) 3. Try to do courses to increase your skills and salary 4. When you get a hike of 50% .. don't hike your spending by 50%.. instead 20% hike in spending is more then enough 5. Invest the additional money in savings(or invest in index funds if not good at stocks) 6. Only buy a car when you can save atleast 20% of your salary after car emi and fuel cost.. 7. Second hand cars can be a dangerous investment as you don't know the previous owner has done to the car.. also aim for a safe car too.. as life is more important then money invested in unsafe cars to save money. Also if you want a second hand car.. don't go for anything older then 2 years or so.. in highways a tyre brust or braking failure can take your life or can cause serious injuries to you and your family for saving money. Features like ABS or elecrtronic stability or ADAS can actually save yours and yours family lives.

Exactly 💯 percent

Buying a car doesn't make one poor but buying a car without financially being strong does.
Agree.
Finally a person with common sense .
Simple.
Ik hai to 350 ka daal 2 aap ke lie 2000 ka kar dete hai fir aap se vahi kahte hai jo aap ne likha hai to chalega?
Reason why you have to buy car. -
But agar gaddi nhi lete-
i have to travel by ola , uber + surcharge -+ 30*commission (ola /uber) + 18%gst
An indian daily travel 35km
Per km charge -15rs per km
Daily spending- =35*15=525
Yearly =525*365= 1,91,625 (approx ) 2lakh
5yearly = 10lakh (fuel price constant)
If you sell the car -after 5years you will get 4lakh back here in case you will get anything.
>You cant keep the luggage ,late night or odd hours cant travel, no privacy. 5family members cant travel together, dirty cars, ac not working, you cant keep hygiene, everytime you have to waste 10-15mins for waiting (wastage of time ), and many
So i will choose my own car.

Super,
Issues with renting a car:
1) You cannot enjoy your trip fully as you have to travel with stranger
2) You have pre-determined time and you can't spend more time at any place if you want
3) If you want to stay at a place for a day or two they will charge hault and you have to also pay for the drivers stay , lunch , dinner
4) Suppose I want to go from point A to B but I don't want to return to point A then they will charge double the distance between A and B because they have to return without passengers to point A
5) In case of Emergency it will take some time to arrange a car
6) You cannot have unplanned trips
So if you can afford a car definitely go for it but don't overspend to just show off or luxury...
Yrr y india hai 😅
True
Completely agree with all the points, better to buy a car which you can afford(not spending too much for show off) instead of not buying any car and believing that rented cars are same as personal cars.

Thanks brother, valuable discussion. After bike accident I used to think having own car or hire car. Your discussion made it clear to me.
Thank you ❤
Very nice explanation , the emotions are countless,
I have a dream from childhood to travel with my car across ,which I want even though my fianancial condition is not good at that time not a family support also,
But once I become capable then I brought the car started with second hand, Now this is my trird car & I travelled almost every destination that I want by car with my family & the happiness i got which is priceless ,, Timely decision making with our financial condition gives you this ultimate joy,,,
This is not a video - this is business and economics University class ❤

Very Informative Video... Don't buy Car just to show off and if your Salary is Less. buy it only if your salary is High. if ur salary is Less and if u buy a Car then all your Earned money will be Spent in Maintaining your Car and End of the Day you End up without Savings..☝️
Luxury is the difference between middle and upper class.
@@vanlandings7466 hey,
Numbers are good, but you can also look at this way.
Just to give you perspective of the difference-
A million seconds is 12 days. A billion seconds is 31 years
Corrections:
1. EVs are way costlier than normal IC egnines car in terms of ex showroom price onlyy!! I agree that running cost of them is almost 0.2 rs!!
2. TCS charges are only applicable on cars above 10L rupess!! Swift pe TCS nhi lagta hai
Your Thumbnail Is Always OP 😂😂

Bhai , I.want to clear the confusion regarding tax structure., the cess is collected in the GST amount not in basic amount, for example
Car basic rate is Rs 5,00,000
GST 28%. Rs. 1,40,000
Cess 17%
(GST 1,40,000*17%) Rs 23,800
Total. Rs 6,63,800
This the tax calculation bhai
The cess calculation u r doing is wrong, the way u calculated is as per income tax where a person had to pay 4% cess on tax amount. But for GST cases like cars. Cess is calculated on car IDV value and not on tax amount. I work in CA firm so I know this.
@@Awarenessspreadkarono, u r wrong.. cess is on gst amount collected.. check online

100% correct on point video.... but most important of all is "you only live once" so if you can afford then just buy it and live you life happily its better to make life memorable and happy... also these are the reasons for you to be motivated to work more harder so that you could give you family the comfort and happiness... nothing comes over these feelings... make your life happier without always being so rational about everything, then you'll end up having nothing in life because everything will be pointless for you

When I was a kid, only rich people had cars.
Only 2 people in our building had cars.
Then advertisers sold the dream of owning a car to the middle class.
Today they have made it a "necessity".
The most important and valuable for the gen z I would say. Great Financial Knowledge sir!

Maturity is when you realise:- "Car is a liability not an investment"
maturity is when you realise car is necessity and not liability
@@raghavjha2028 no offence but car is a luxury not a necessity
My friend!!!!
No offence but a wife is a bigger liability. A car is still a better investment.
Well i disagree on not buying a car concept
Having a car can actually motivate you to do better and enjoy in the process
But you need to scarifice on other things
1. When buying a car.. use the 2X formula.. buy once if you can afford the car twice.. so i.e find what is the maximum car you can buy in the market.. calculate the on-road price then divide by 2 .. the value that comes it what you need to spend on buying a car(many people go for a car that the bank can finance thinking with future salary they can pay afterwards.. do the present calculation not future calcualtion
2. Don't buy apple products until you are a crorepati(oneplus provides enough performance)
3. Try to do courses to increase your skills and salary
4. When you get a hike of 50% .. don't hike your spending by 50%.. instead 20% hike in spending is more then enough
5. Invest the additional money in savings(or invest in index funds if not good at stocks)
@@Just_randomhumancar is necessary in Kerala. I used to think that a car was a liability. So I didn't own any car. I always have a dream to start a business, but without a car it's not possible in Kerala, because of the rains. I realised this I met my friend after some years, he now owns a car, he became a freelance photographer, he can go to any place with his camera in any weather conditions.
