Sorry to hear you are giving up retail, but glad you are staying on UA-cam. You can't go now, you are about to get your 100,000 award. Been with you since the beginning and love your videos. You are so kind, and always explain things. Thank you. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I retired so I make soap as a hobby and I give a lot of soap away now. I just wanted to use up my older ingredients before they go bad. I enjoy giving out really great homemade soap. Every now and then I’ll get a big order and I’ll charge for that of course, but it’s nice to be able to make soap just for fun and hand out. I have so much stuff like packing boxes, wrapping, scrapbooking paper pads, and lots of other soap making supplies. I just can’t seem to get rid of the soap box mold my hubby made for me after he passed.
Hi Ellen ruth my name is Sophia from the UK I love your videos on all the different products you make. Your packaging too. You have given me a lot of ideas. I love the way you explain to a T Thank you so much!! ❤
I love watching you and learn so much! So glad you are still going to be here giving all your great ideas! I make specialty face soaps but love watching your design ideas.
While I don’t know the details of your new departure, I have been saying for a while that you were the best kept secret on UA-cam and indeed on the internet. You are a natural teacher; you are so thorough and explain things so clearly. In addition to that your creativity is amazing. Good luck with this new direction of your amazing career. I’m so glad to be following along this adventure. I hope to see many more soapy videos! As I’ve said before, you are my guru! 😊🧼😊
I would love to see the soap making process from beginning to end in real time. As a new soaper this would be helpful to see what's really involved without any edits. Maybe do some lives and us viewers can makes soaps together like a class
I'm sad to hear you are closing your retail shop, going to miss it😢, but I'm happy to hear you are going to stay postong your videos. Thank you for sharing your creative and pleasant and lovely nature!! Love your videos ❤❤
I thank you for all the excellent soaping information you have given me. So glad you will be on UA-cam, and definitely will be watching your show. Congratulations and good luck on your next journey into the soaping world.
I think they both look pretty and your house must smell amazing! I always choose those fragranceswhen shopping for people I don't know well, because everyone likes them.
💕I’m happy to hear that I can continue learning from you! I so appreciate you taking time out of your day to teach all of us! Love your videos too! THANK YOU!!💕I’m enjoying the soaps I purchased from you!!💕 Citrus love it!!! 💕
I did a very similar soap last weekend. Pink grapefruit from WSP is my favorite, and I also used coconut milk, just powder instead of liquid. I cannot wait to use it! Thanks for sharing the repair technique also, it’s such useful information.
I love watching you! I’m loving making soap and find your channel a great resource! Since you are switching to doing micro batches, only, will you be selling some of your equipment that you used to make your large batches? If so, I would be interested in one or two of your large moulds and also maybe Olga, if you are selling her.
I don’t necessarily need to see how long it takes for a decent trace, but if you could tell us once you’re finished I think that’s a good learning tool for especially the newbies and perhaps more experience soap makers.
These are beautiful, as usual. Thank you for the tip on fixing air pockets. I was like 😮 when you mentioned that you are closing your shop, but I a glad and grateful that you will keep posting videos here in UA-cam. You are excellent, Ellen, and we all learn so much from you, thank you very much ❤🙏 I have a question: with such a steep water discount and replaced with coconut milk, what is the superfat you use?... I don't mean that you share your recipe, just what do you recommend? Again, thank you very much
I love watching your videos! You such an amazing job, thank you. I was wondering if you covered your soap and allowed it to go through gel phase with the melt & pour embeds on top. I want to try this, but wondered about the soap getting to warm and melting the melt & pour. Thanks!
I am loving these soap fragrances. I have the same pink grapefruit fragrance oil and I love it. For the embeds, I have the same M/P from Wholesale Supplies Plus - do you ever experience the glycerin sweating with this M/P?
These look great Ellen! I love coconut milk, I use the organic Native coconut milk, with no guar and unsweetened, fabulous! I’ve been thinking about getting a website but my local town keeps me busy. Just wonder if a website would be worth it??
Shred it (I use a cheese grater), put it in an old crockpot (not used for food) or double boiler and keep an eye on it. I usually end up adding a little glycerin and or water during that heating process. Get it to a mashed potato consistency and plop it in a mold. 😊
Hi Ellen, I was wondering if putting too much milk in soap will make it soft and sticky? I cured it well over 6 weeks, but its still soft and sticky 😮.
@@EllenRuthSoap I'm wondering what made my soap soft and sticky? I've made soap with full milk before and it never turned out like this one. I used coconut cream, heavy cream and buttermilk powder.
@@EllenRuthSoap I understand. I was hoping to get my hands on something before it was completely closed but I lost out 😔 it's ok though I'm still glad I can watch your videos!

I've never seen anyone repair the holes, that was great to see. Beautiful soap
It works so good, and saves the bars🧡
Love it. “Make a plan and be ready to adjust”. Soap wisdom at its best ❤

It's so sad I missed your close out sale! I'm glad you'll still be on YT.
Ive been wanting to try pink grapefruit! Ill have to add that on to my next order
Very easy to work with; I’ve used the Nature’s Garden Ruby Red Grapefruit. Smells great!

Yes❣️ I find that the most loved scents are citrus based 🍊

They both are so pretty. I soaped with Satsuma long ago, but from NG. It’s a beautiful fragrance.
It's such a good fragrance🍊
Lovely bars & great fragrances, Ellen
Thanks so much!💗
Loved the video. I went to wholesale and bought the pink grapefruit fo, they came out lovely.
Thanks for sharing.
It's such a juicy scent💗
Wonderful I like to smell it😊
Beautiful Ellen❤
I absolutely love ❤️ your channel, I have learned so much. Your voice is so calming, you're the best Ellen 😊
Thank you so much!
Thick frosting is exactly that I thought too. Definitely still workable. I’ve had soap on a stick… so not fun.❤
Oh no! Dear Ellen! Why are you closing your retail store? We love your soaps and other products! Please don't give it up! We need your online shop!
It's a new season for me, and I need to close my retail side. But I'll still be here in YT💗

Yes love coconut milk soaps. Which I started using, when I first seen you use it. I just know these two soaps smell divine 😊
Yay for coconut milk soaps🧡

It's always enjoyable to see your soap making videos ❤❤❤ Thank you 😀!
Thank you! 😊🍊💛💗
Did that racy version of Satsuma have more ylang ylang in it maybe? I have one downstairs I need to try. Love all three soaps!!
I'm not sure what the specific difference was, but it sure smells fantastic even though it was a stinker to work with🍊
@@EllenRuthSoapI have a few FOs that I know are jerks, but love them so much and can’t stop using them. 😂

Thanks 💗🧡

I'm willing to bet the coconut milk made the orange one excel .?
So cute!
Thanks 🍊
I’m not gonna lie! I seen it starting to get thick and I started to clench my butt cheeks 😂 it turned out so beautiful I love it!
I started to squeeze too. 😂
I am loving these soap fragrances. I have the same pink grapefruit fragrance oil and I love it. For the embeds, I have the same M/P from Wholesale Supplies Plus - do you ever experience the glycerin sweating with this M/P?
Yes, I have had the MP embeds sweat... The sooner you can wrap them, the better it is.
These look great Ellen! I love coconut milk, I use the organic Native coconut milk, with no guar and unsweetened, fabulous! I’ve been thinking about getting a website but my local town keeps me busy. Just wonder if a website would be worth it??
If you have a way to direct traffic to a website, it's totally worth it.
Where do you get the molds for those imbeds? Thanks
Here's the one I have: amzn.to/3UhJfCj
I love love love your soaping Ellen Ruth! Thank you my sweet lady 💖 I have a question: can I use coconut water?
I haven’t soaped with Coconut water yet, but I think it would be fantastic 🧡
Or mention in the comments, how long you blended. I would find that most interesting!
What do you do with seized soap?
I usually rebatch it❣️
Shred it (I use a cheese grater), put it in an old crockpot (not used for food) or double boiler and keep an eye on it. I usually end up adding a little glycerin and or water during that heating process. Get it to a mashed potato consistency and plop it in a mold. 😊
I didn’t know you had a retail soap store. Was it a lot of work to have a brick & mortar?
No, just an online retail store (and I used to do markets)
Ellen, I don’t know or recall if you have ever mentioned about how much FO relative to the soap batch you put in.
Each fragrance has a recommended usage rate, so I go by that %. Typically it's near 5%, but always double check.
❤❤❤❤
What is the name of the big container that you have the oils in ?
It’s a large poly pitcher like this: amzn.to/3TvgtwY
Where to get this cutter?
It’s a Good Speed Soap Cutter, and he’s on Etsy
I haven't used coconut water yet, but I think it would make a wonderful soap. I'll be doing a video using it in the future💕
I would love to see actual blend time. My soap seems to only need 30 seconds or so.
Okay, I think I do need to do a “real time” soaping video👍❣️
Can I buy some of your fragrance and mica?
I don’t sell supplies
Where can I buy such a fruit form?😊
Here are the molds I use: amzn.to/3v5nfBd
@@EllenRuthSoap Thank you.
Hi Ellen, I was wondering if putting too much milk in soap will make it soft and sticky? I cured it well over 6 weeks, but its still soft and sticky 😮.
You can do total milk for the liquid volume and it should harden up fine. So just stick within the recommended liquid %

Will you be training?
Just here in YT doing tutorials💕
Did you make good money selling soaps? Was it worth it?
It is a viable income, but was slow to make a return. It took a while to build up.
😮 so we can no longer purchase your soap?
Unfortunately not, I've closed the retail side of my business.
