Beautiful soap😊. As always, I love your videos, and all the info you give is. I learn SO much from you! I love soap making. I always say it is like baking without the calories. Have a great day.
Again, you are awesome to watch and so informative! Have you ever thought doing a live class? Or classes of any kind? I would sign up in a heart beat😁. I mean, you are so informative in your videos! But i feel like in the moment when things are going wrong for me. I'd love to be able to say... Mrs. Ruth "can you help me" hahaha. Thank you again for all your knowledge and spirited personality. It's a treat to watch what you make😁
Good morning from Dauphin, Manitoba Canada 🍁, I absolutely love your videos. You are so inspirational and informative, your soaps are absolutely beautiful. 👍❤️
Ellen yes to everything you said about gelling. I just love it and yes, the colors are more vibrant. I never put my soaps in the refrigerator. I gel all of them including the whole milk lye solution and so far no one volcano. I had some cracks and is always on my coconut milk, AloeVera and cucumber soap. I have no idea why, but it’s fine. I am a 50/50 lye soaper, even for my pine tar soaps. Love that fragrance and the color is so beautiful 😍 😊
This is lovely as always! I think this would be lovely in an Easter basket or cute planter with some garden gloves and little sage and lavender plants. Hope you’re doing well and enjoying family time!
I wanted to try Makesy kits for so long. Royalty soaps has a video on one of their candle kit. I wanted to see one on soap-making. Thank you so much for this great video.
Very pretty colors! Hi Ellen, I have a scale that will only read numbers with no decimal for gram weight, so I want to add coconut oil at 20% which is 6.40 oz, now when I try weigh that in grams, my metric converter gives me 181.44, what do I do?
hey Ellen! i'm curious since you're no longer selling your soap, what did you do with them (i assume you have a lot of them from making weekly vids)? love your soaps as usual btw! ❤
Ellen why do you put Colliodal oats in soap?...is it to thicken it. your soaps are glorious.. I cant buy them from Australia ...But I can try to copy the receipe!..Many thanx..❤
I really like how the oats feel in the lather, and they have a skin soothing effect.. I do have a friend that is allergic to oats, so I make some without just for her.
Question about the Goat milk....was it fresh or was it in powder form but you added water. Also, I never know when to add the sodium lactate. Thank you for the video. It's my evening wind down!!🥰
Yes, my studio is pretty cool, so I had to warm them up. I filled a big pot with very warm water and floated the jug in there while I prepped the area. It poured out no problem after that😉
I have a question since I read something in another channel. I use a shampoo bar but read that this kind of soap bars or shampoo bars with oil clog the drains. Any one experiencing this? If that the case what you do to avoid that problem , I still want to use my shampoo bars.
I actually don't suggest using regular cold process soap for shampoo, it's a higher pH than recommended for shampoo. If your CP soap has the proper oil to lye ratio, there should not be too much extra oils to clog drains, it's all been saponified..
I honestly never check the temperature even though I brought a thermometer down there! 😂 It's in the basement, so chances are it is warm right now because of the heat being on. @@EllenRuthSoap

Here is a small digital scale that does very tiny weights: amzn.to/43aXVq7

I had a final clearance sale in my shop and sold all my inventory. Now I'm making small batches and using it, gifting it, and or dontating😉

The goat milk was fresh, and I add the sodium lactate after the lye water has cooled just a bit.
I have also added it to the hot lye when doing the heat transfer method and it works the same.
Ellen, do you think 2% regular milk is as good as goat milk?
I think whole milk would be a closer match.
Do you ever make soap for ezema I would love for you to make some of that soaps I love your recipes ❤
I think this one would be good for skin: ua-cam.com/video/95eJINIlog0/v-deo.html
I make full goat milk soaps and always gel them, unless they are predominantly white soaps.
Yes🙌 I love to gel my milk soaps too💚
How do you use soapcalc with this blend. I never make a soap recipe without checking on soapcalc.
Makesy has the % for each oil in their blend, so if you get that you can then run the numbers👍
Where did you get the soap mold with the cover?
Makesy ( I have a discount code for them) makesy.com/products/5lb-wooden-box-mold?_pos=1&_sid=5d100df4a&_ss=r?variant=42691232170138
Do you have to melt the oils? How do you do that in the plastic jug?
Yes, my studio is pretty cool, so I had to warm them up. I filled a big pot with very warm water and floated the jug in there while I prepped the area. It poured out no problem after that😉
Porque hacer un Jasón de sage y Lavendel cuando los colores son muy diferentes? Sage. Verde o gris cuado está seca x lavanda es lila
I just thought this green looked pretty with the scent notes.

@@EllenRuthSoap Thanks for replying.
Every milk soap I've ever made cracks if I don't put it in the refrigerator. I even had a cucumber soap do that recently.
Is your soaping room warm? Hey, if the fridge works for you then that's fantastic💚
I honestly never check the temperature even though I brought a thermometer down there! 😂
