Galadrielle and Rick

Galadrielle Allman and Rick Hall have a conversation and take questions at FAME Studios on 20 July, 2014. I'd ridden down from RVA just to see Galadrielle read from her then-new book, "Please Be with Me: A Song for My Father." I also wanted to see Cowboy: Scott Boyer & Tommy Talton, a group I'd been fans of for 40 years.

It should never be lost on anyone that Duane was just in his very early 20s when all this was transpiring. Few people overflow with the level of confidence and visionary talent that Duane possessed. I love hearing stories about him as much as listening to his music.

Rick was right. Duane put together a r&b and blues singer - Pickett, country - Chet Atkins pickin, a rock band song - Hey Jude. The result was "Southern Rock."

I've been on a personal quest to dig up everything i can find about the Allman's and i have to tell you this is one of my favorites!
I have a great love for everything that came out of Muscle Shoals and this interview is like drinking good homemade liquor, makes you feel all warm and tingly all over. Thank you so much for posting this.

Yes! I had wanted to see Galadrielle when she was in the NY area, but I was not able to get time off from my job. Really awesome to hear her speak with Rick Hall!
