for those of us having strange behavior. try applying all transforms. Fixed it for me as usual

For those who followed this tutorial and your cable isn't following the curve: check "Constant offset" option in Array modifier.

    Great Jayanam...as always.
You know what also would be great ....a tool in edit mode where you can select a edge that sharpens the crease to 100% then bevels it by one itteration and 0.02 wide and then assigns a dark black non reflected material on the created faces....this to make fine lines on for example a car model where the doors are at without adding to much geometry ....all in one click of a button...... Now You have to do it every time if you don't want to complicate the model to much with EXTRA indents etc.....

Thx. For the feature: Will see, perhaps something that could be added to JMesh tools.

@@JayAnAm Yeah....It makes a huge difference in time..... It could also be a hold out material instead of black.......I am doing a lot of car modeling stuff lately but want keep the poly count etc quite low and also with modeling as soon as you add a new layer it complicates the normally smooth outer shell of a model into something unworkable and complex that costs a large amount of time to solve....at least how I look at it..... I am kind of inpatient. ;-)

@@JayAnAm Here is an example ua-cam.com/video/CyIC6ACre54/v-deo.html Instead I mostly delete the faces in between but then slits the outer shell into loose components which is not always desirable...

Any thoughts on how to have the wire be a dif distance from the middle to make a more Christmas Tree string effect? Where the wires loosely follow the curve but deviate differently between each bulb.

Very good made tutorial! Thank you. I only have a problem with the very last step. After attaching the mesh to the path in the array mod the "cable" is only exactly half as long as the path.... Did it twice and got the same result. Have any Idea what got wrong?

Hey, I am newcomer for your chennel and you are the only one teaching what I want to learn: environmental sculpting (not a character). I see that you have been uploading so many videos and it makes me indicible where to start (+ I see the addons you made). I am intermidiate for blender but haven't really sculpt in any other programs. Would you recommend me which videos I need to learn step by step from your chennel?

Congrats. Love it. It will be useful for my realistic hair project. You don't feel like doing a body hair addon by any chance? 🙂

@@JayAnAm If you do, I can:
      1) give you the specifications for the results. I mean what I actually would like to have.
      2) The 2D textures you might need for it. Since I am a photographer I have litterally millions of perfect textures.

Im stuck in blender with the outliner being in full screen mode and no viewport. its either the outliner or the viewport being full screen, and the other just gone. does a kind soul out there know how to fix this ?
how do I get the screen back to normal with the outliner on the righthand side ?

Hover your mouse pointer over the bottom of your screen and move it around until you get a double pointed arrow (up and down arrow). Then right click and choose vertical split. Move the mouse to where you want the split and left click. You can then make one pane the viewport and the other the outliner from the editor type icon in the top left of the pane. You can do the same with the outliner pane but choose horizontal split so you can get your properties pane back like the default you would have had when you first opened Blender.

When moving the initial cylinder I notice your mesh's origin/pivot point stays at the world origin. When I moved my cylinder, it's origin point moved also. Looking up solutions now but always appreciate replies.

Because he moves the cylinder in Edit Mode.

a blender for children is good, but do you have an answer to an adult question - how to change the profile of such an object on a curve at a specific point, so that when moving along the curve, the object at this point changes its profile? What can be done with geometric nodes?

This didn't work for me. Followed every step you did, but when I apply the curve, I get a HUGE chain of objects, much much longer than the curve object. It's like it's adding 4 iterations of the cylinder object to each end of the curve, making it extremely difficult to work with when actually using the wire to my machine object.
EDIT: also noticed that once you've created the wire, you can't move it into position. It messes up the entire system and creates tons of ugly distortions, like twisting and totall flattening. I just love these "none destructive" methods that only seems to complicate everything ad infinitum.
