Pushing it nicely! Love that scraping when you hit the limits. One thing I love about this bike is that it actually has decent brakes. Especially compared to the competing brands offers. Sweet video :)
If you rub your knees on the road ,you should rub the footpegs less, but it is true that the noise of rubbing footpegs is a beautiful symphony ! Another awesome video dude, braaap braapp !!
yea you are right! But I don't really feel comfortable riding hang-off with the CB. The whole bike starts to wobble around as soon as you move your butt from one side to the other quickly at higher speeds because the bike's suspension is not exactly the best ;) But maybe I'll try and check out some hang-off training courses next season. I really would like to further improve my skills!
that awkward moment when one of the most awesome bike channels out there finally notices one of your videos and all they do is mentioning the nice road.
Supermofools I might peed myself a little with excitement when I saw that ;) Thanks once more! I promise not only to watch but also to comment on your upcoming videos in the future ehehehe ;) Don't forget to contact me if you ever by any chance get lost near Vienna with your SMs ;)))
Here in Brazil it's actually really hard to find one of these on the road, and I also think it is just better than the Suzuki GS 500, using iridium spark plugs and a K&N filter the CB 500 can reach 220 km/h easily
When I scrap pegs I always jolt back like I'm not expecting it to happen. I think I need to practice it more and maybe work on keeping the peg on the ground for longer.. Any tips ? :)
I know what you mean hehe. I basically started to get comfortable with the scraping pegs as recently as this season ;) Although I'd rather have to say that I started to feel more secure about riding bigger/greater lean angles in general. At this point the scraping pegs will sort of automatically become part of the whole experience. You'll get used to it very fast if you concentrate on staying relaxed. Sounds a bit weird, I know. But the whole riding thing feels kind of 'automated' to me so it is not that easy to talk about what I'm actually doing on my bike lol. You also could go and look for a big and empty parking lot with some decent tarmac. Ride in circles at a speed you feel comfortable with. Start to lean down further and further (in tiny steps) as long as you feel safe. You could keep on doing that until you scrape the pegs basically. Then you could start to work on getting used to that feeling. At least that's what I want to try some time next season. To get even more secure. And now I've made you read all this without telling you my biggest secret (which is not a real secret by the way ;) ): the footpegs on the old CB500 are mounted very low. That's why they scrape so early and easily ;)
Schaaf YOU FRAUD! No but seriously, even by the video I can tell you had decent lean angle. I think I need to practice this during my next track day :) Thanks
That back brake chatter was sexy! I also recognise that sweeping right hander near the start from your walkround video, correct? Corners that go on forever are glorious!
Another awesome adventure! How long did it take before you weren't afraid of taking corners like that...or were you ever afraid? I mean, how do you learn to have such quick reflexes? Cornering is my biggest fear. Your rides are so cool!
thank you so much! :) I'm riding my little Honda for 4 and a half years now. Since I started to ride at a young age the Austrian laws made me ride her as restricted version (27 bhp instead of the almighty ~50 bhp) for the first two years. In that time I just rode her around for fun but had no intention of learning to ride fast. My riding really started to improve when I joined these group rides with more experienced and much quicker bikers. Following them I learned to ride a safe and quick riding line through the corners. And at that time I've also realized that I need to feel completely relaxed on my Honda to be able to go fast. The moment I tense up or feel scared is the moment I make mistakes. So whenever I want to ride fast, I get into this relaxed but completely focused state of mind. The road ahead of me is the only thing I'm noticing. I look where I want to go, keep a clean and quick line through the corners and relax at the same time. Then I'll be riding fast more or less automatically. Sounds kind of strange but it works for me like that. But the most important thing for me is to stay calm and focused at the same time!
this particular one has been in some good condition for a rather long time because heavy trucks are not allowed to drive on it. But in general Austrian roads often suck quite bad too. Especially the temperature differences between summer and winter are ruining our roads rather quickly!
Watching this makes me want to buy a CB500 next week. It is a very versatile bike and now I can see it is not a slow as others have commented. I wonder what is would be like for long distance touring?
Love the sound of your bikes engine! Its almost like a cafe racer sound but with more power plus the engine sounds clean too. Can you give me a tipper on how to keep your bike in pristine condition?
thanks! Actually I can't. Because I don't care much about my bike's condition. Don't get me wrong. I love my little Honda. But these bikes are so cheap that I won't even bother with maintaining them too much. Whenever she will brake down (which will definitely happen at some point) I'll just borrow some money from my parents and get myself a new used one ;) Although I can add that not riding in winter (roads covered in salt) helps a lot with preserving a decent condition ;)
Neat! I wish I could do the same but I cant afford buying a new one at the moment. I have no choice but to keep it under maintenance. Hope you get a better one like a yamaha r6 or any for your next bike bro to continue your awsome vids!
Great riding my friend! Funny enough, I have my right hand exactly opposite of you haha; I grip throttle with thumb and index, and use other last three fingers for braking while rev-matching :D. Hopefully, I'll have an older CB soon, love the sound and bodywork.
Well that's awesome! Saving up for a bike myself, looking at a dual sport but your making me want a street bike hahahaha. If I can find a cb500 I'll get it but until then you keep making videos so I don't go crazy! P.S. Couldn't reply because I'm on mobile. Have a good one.
Schaaf !!! Hi i just bouht the same bike but the S version of 2003 in blue...can you suggest me the tyres please ? I'm struggling to fine something good for not killing myself on the public road, somethng that heats up quickly please. Thank you !!!!
+Pierre Esprit I bought it like that. I myself only changed the clutch cable and brake line. I don't know if the other cables are stock but I do think so.

Hey Schaaf I found some enduro Renthal bars measuring 85cm diameter called 666 vintage desert think they are the same as yours. Do you happen to know if they are the same model. Thanks
Litttle bikes Teach corner speed, if you lose speed you have to make it up in the next 4 corners but on a big bike if you lose speed you just wind on and get it back, they should make it mandatory for people to ride 125s for a year first
I haven't my licence yet and it's horrible to see your videos because i got the same bike, the same kind of roads, and i can't drive my CBF 500. Goods videos anyway :)
Awesome ride! I really loved it to watching! I never could imagine that a CB500 can ride as fast as you drive it! But it can. ;) And the sound! Congratulation!
In Dutch "schaaf" means something along the lines of "scrape" so you have a very fitting name ;) It might be the same in German but I could not find it.

danke vielmals!!
Those roads! *_*
that awkward moment when one of the most awesome bike channels out there finally notices one of your videos and all they do is mentioning the nice road.
Schaaf
Haha and the skills you have on that fucking CB500... :D And more than that..
Sorry I commented only about the roads
Supermofools hahaha no worries! ;) Thanks a lot!
Schaaf
To make it up to you I shared the video on Facebook. ;-)
Supermofools I might peed myself a little with excitement when I saw that ;) Thanks once more! I promise not only to watch but also to comment on your upcoming videos in the future ehehehe ;) Don't forget to contact me if you ever by any chance get lost near Vienna with your SMs ;)))

Grrrreat man! haha than cb500 is a bullet, and the rider is the fuckin master! Every new video is better. Big hug my friend!
thanks a lot, Javier!
This is more bitumen scraping than you would see at an endometrial biopsy..
how long did it take you until you came up with that one ahahahaha fantastic, mate!
When I scrap pegs I always jolt back like I'm not expecting it to happen. I think I need to practice it more and maybe work on keeping the peg on the ground for longer.. Any tips ? :)

You ride that thing like a BOSS!

Another great ride to tag along on. Thanks man.
thanks for the nice words & for watching, man! :)
Beautiful ride ! I watch your videos on a regular basis. They are wonderful!
Unfortunately, in my country - Poland, the roads are full of holes: (
thanks a lot!! :) We have bad roads too - usually I only film the good ones ;)
Co ty gadasz w polsce mamy spoko drogi
That back brake chatter was sexy!
I also recognise that sweeping right hander near the start from your walkround video, correct?
Corners that go on forever are glorious!
yep, it is the road from the walkaround video!! :) Well done ;) Thanks, Murcuseo!

Schaf!! I'm loving your videos. I'm definitely putting Austria on my worldly list of places to ride one day. Cheers!
thank you! Sounds like a great plan ;)
Bellissima e bravissimo biker ma una domanda. La mor è preparata? E quei rumori in sottofondo in piega erano grattare delle pedivelle? ❤❤❤❤
Awesome!
What is the exhaust configuration in this video?
fucking hell I love that !
Wow great racing. I enjoyed watching it.
Thanks
could you take a photo of your pegs and kickstand and put it at the end of your next vid? awesome riding as usual cheers from Singapore
thanks a lot! I will do that. Not in my next video but I have another wild ride in my archive and there I will show you guys a shot of my pegs!
Nice road ! Love your finger in the sky when you put full throttle 😂 keep it up bro
thanks
amazing video.... so jealous of those roads and that skill lol ride safe
thanks a lot, Jeremy!
I wish we had roads like that over here... Even out decent roads are now ruined buy crappy resurfacing and pot holes! Sooooo jealous!
this particular one has been in some good condition for a rather long time because heavy trucks are not allowed to drive on it. But in general Austrian roads often suck quite bad too. Especially the temperature differences between summer and winter are ruining our roads rather quickly!
thats awsome....got to test ride a cb500 today...nice bike
thanks, Wade! An old one or a new one?
Damn boiii, really enjoyable to watch, cool and smooth. Nice skills!
thanks dude
Watching this makes me want to buy a CB500 next week. It is a very versatile bike and now I can see it is not a slow as others have commented. I wonder what is would be like for long distance touring?
works decently for touring. Doing up to 600kms of riding per day with it.
Thanks for your reply.
Martyn Mulligan Thanks for your comment!
Nice assertive riding!
thanks David!
0:43 "i paid for whole tire gonna use all of it" :D
Super Vid!
Also die Blecheinsätze.
Danke!!
Man I wish I could buy that renthal handlebar
Very entertaining! How long have you had the bike? you seem very comfortable on it.
thanks a lot!! For 4 and a half years. She was and still is my first motorcycle. So far I've done around ~40k kilometers!
Exhilarating. Love it.
thanks a lot, CJ!
Nicely done
thanks
Awesome, as always ! Also your finger pointing up each time you accelerate is pretty funny hahaha ;-)
thanks, Nicolas!! :)
Tis no finger... tis a little cobra checking the road ahead :D
***** ehehehe ;)
Schaaf Do you leave it up for any particular reason?
CJ Kjellman not really. But my right index finger is always covering the front brake lever. It 'comes off' when I need to squeeze the throttle hard ;)
I took lessons on that type of motorcycle, i loved it !
cool!
Love the sound of your bikes engine! Its almost like a cafe racer sound but with more power plus the engine sounds clean too. Can you give me a tipper on how to keep your bike in pristine condition?

danke!! Da ist Schaaf aber zuhause ;)
Great riding my friend! Funny enough, I have my right hand exactly opposite of you haha; I grip throttle with thumb and index, and use other last three fingers for braking while rev-matching :D. Hopefully, I'll have an older CB soon, love the sound and bodywork.

Big fun on little bike :-)

Great ride man!!!! I have a CB500 too, although mine is a CB500S. Which tyres do you use? V'ss!!!
Ok, I can answer myself, I saw the answer in another video, Bridgestones BT45 lol
thanks and well done ;)
Well that's awesome! Saving up for a bike myself, looking at a dual sport but your making me want a street bike hahahaha. If I can find a cb500 I'll get it but until then you keep making videos so I don't go crazy!
P.S. Couldn't reply because I'm on mobile. Have a good one.
the CB500 would be an excellent choice for a starter bike!! Trust me ;) Thank you!
Nice riding!
thank you!
Obviously you know the roads there, but do you do a pre-ride ride to check road surface (for oil and debris) or do you just go for it?
Anytime I want to ride like that I definitely do a pre-ride first!
Schaaf That's good to know. It's only attack helicopters you have to watch out for then.
hahaha exactly ;)
LOL... I assume the video was taken in some close course somewhere in Mexico :-) Not my style of riding, but watching it entertaining :-)
thanks ;)
Schaaf !!! Hi i just bouht the same bike but the S version of 2003 in blue...can you suggest me the tyres please ? I'm struggling to fine something good for not killing myself on the public road, somethng that heats up quickly please. Thank you !!!!
BT46
what is that handlebar? i would like to install the same on my cb500. Nice ride, and don't forget to ride safe!
+Pierre Esprit 85cm Renthals! Thanks!
+Schaaf thank you! and did you have to change all wires ?
+Pierre Esprit I bought it like that. I myself only changed the clutch cable and brake line. I don't know if the other cables are stock but I do think so.
This thing sound goooooood
thanks
It is locked cb500? How many HP? You need to consider to unlock it :]
I have cb500 too, it really kick ass on 1st gear, wheelies without clutch isnt any problem :] And it is really easy to ride and predictable motorcycle.
It is 'unlocked' :)
Hi, echt cooles Video :).
danke! Ich verwende den "GoPro Chest Mount" für meine GoPro :)
maan this is so cool! :))) wanna see more vids like this! keep on continue! :)))
thank you! I will continue doing that for sure ;)
Schaaf You are really talented :) I just watch all of Your vids and I'm amazed :)
I like Austria, We used to drive on bikes there a lot, or snowboarding in winter. I love that place, I can't wait for the real powder snow :))) and then I hope I will have a new bike for summer and we can go ride the mountain roads too.
thank you! I agree, Austria is a great place to be a rider. I really like my country as well. Although unfortunately quite a lot of people here are not so awesome. Our government is fucked up as well.
Guess you can't have everything ;)
You're right, guess what, we have a fucked up government too LOL. I don't understad that, if everyone knows they are fucked up, who vote them? :)))
At least You have there fine roads with lot of grip and turns, be happy ;))
And which region are You from?
I live in and come from Vienna! :)

Hi Schaaf. where was this ride at?
Hello Ivan ;) There's a link to Google Maps in the description!
What’s with the finger dude, awesome riding though

danke dir!!
What handlebars you rocking
Just bought one of these bikes and im looking to change them.
85cm Renthal
You don't know the exact model? I ended up buying some renthal bars but went for 658 road sports but they weren't wide enough the grips hung off the end. Found some call road wide and street fighter but not sure if they will fit
Hey Schaaf I found some enduro Renthal bars measuring 85cm diameter called 666 vintage desert think they are the same as yours. Do you happen to know if they are the same model. Thanks

Litttle bikes Teach corner speed, if you lose speed you have to make it up in the next 4 corners but on a big bike if you lose speed you just wind on and get it back, they should make it mandatory for people to ride 125s for a year first
indeed! I agree!
:) but as ever good riding man, i wonder how fast you will be on a supeprsport if you get one :)
Schaaf what Gear ratio do you use? It accelerates very well
I use one tooth less in the front compared to the stock ratio
Schaaf wow it seems 1 tooth makes a huge difference, thanks for the reply And keep up the good work, cheers
Schaaf What tires do you use?
Bridgestone BT45!
Thanks :)
Which tires do you recommend for the cb500 mate?
BT46
Thanks, which dimensions?

Awesome ride! I really loved it to watching!
I never could imagine that a CB500 can ride as fast as you drive it! But it can. ;)
