Thank you for uploading this, Noraly, as many of us in the USA are experiencing huge anxiety on the eve of the election and where our country may be going, and to be honest, at the moment I just watched the introduction and won't be able to watch all of it until later, but being able to see that smile of yours and the positive energy you radiate from within helps--thank you, just what I, and many others here in the USA, needed today!

So you'd rather not ride a bike sounding like a vacuum cleaner! A racier sound makes you happy. Good to have lighter weight exhaust. I enjoy these bike upgrades & maintenance jobs. This experience with you, Noraly, seems quite real & natural. Part of the charm.

Hi. The moment you mentioned new exhaust, I said to myself - it ought to be Akrapovič ! Congratulations. This is a miracle of motorcycle add-on high-tech from Slovenia. They make that 40 km from my place and I actually saw the stamping process (titanium!) . Fuel consumption could be considerably less. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us, quarantined poor souls. Happy riding!

There's no need to exaggerate. Akrapovic is lighter and louder than stock, but functional improvements are only marginal. In engineering, there are no miracles.

Just one of the many reasons I respect Itchy Boots. She gives very helpful and honest feedback/info to the community, because she's independent, not working for the companies, she's a consumer. I really appreciate your honest words about Ronin's strengths over Basanti and Dhanno. And also the Daytona heated grips having a smaller controller. Very helpful! Thanks! I love your work.

You might feel like you're getting older, but perhaps for a bit of perspective I've been riding a fair bit longer than you've been alive, lol. I'm not personally a fan of aftermarket exhausts, but to each his own. At least you're honest about the reasons why you bought it: you like the sound. Heated grips are a must-have on any motorcycle. I'm a fan of Oxford heated grips for a variety of reason, including the big controls that easily can be operated while wearing big, heavy gloves. Regardless of the brand, however, heated grips are one of those things that you once you've tried them, you can never do without.

great video as usual - heated grips are ok, but once you have tried a heated jacket and gloves there is no turning back. With those you could have continued North with no problems at all. It is a bit of a faff plugging everything in, but it is a real game changer.

The only reason I would change my stock exhaust would be to make it quieter, but I don't have any particular beef with people who make things a little different as long as they aren't running open pipes. I wish they'd enforce the law regarding exhaust pipes.

I love the very moderate noise of the flat-twin engine of my oldie BMW R80RT 1985 but on long distance I often wish a sixth gear to reduce the noise and RPM. I also own a Honda CB 500X 2018 in Thailand and I litterally hate the whistling of its parallel twin, and I agree with Noraly who says it's a vaccum cleaner. Chris Smith ( he has a youtube channel) changed his OEM muffler for a cheap chinese Akrapovic copy which in my opinion gives a better sound than Noraly's real Akrapovic exhaust. Yes in Phuket it's the same, I wonder how many persons are awoken when a single Harley biker crosses the town of Patong at 4 am on open pipes.

@@G58 Have to disagree. "Loud pipes save lifes" is bs. It's only marginally true IMO for people who are poor, inattentive riders. As I mentioned, I am in an area with a LOT of very loud bikes, and with modern cars and pervasive air conditioning, I can tell you that I almost never hear a bike before it goes past me. 99% of the sound goes out the back where the only purpose is to annoy people. By the time I hear a loud bike, if I hadn't seen it already it would be too late for the noise to have done any good.
I hear a lot of people with loud bikes say they have close calls a lot in my area. I've been riding in the area with two very quiet bikes for 2 years and I have yet to have anything even close to a close call. I think there's something going on there.
Before that I put about 42,000 miles on a pedal bike over 10 years commuting, and again, had many people say that they on pedal bikes had close calls many times, some said nearly daily, yet for some odd reason I, riding every single day, summer and winter, for 10 years, never had anything like a close call.

You should get a custom MAP when you put new exhaust on, because if the mixture gets to lean, it could get hot in the combustion chamber, leading to failure.
Custom MAP will often give you better midrange tourgue and better mileage.
I am not sure if your bike can get a flash programming or you need a Power Commander to create the MAP. I ride a Honda CB500 from 2007. Happy riding :) Allan from Denmark.

I agree, after 5 years and some long trips I now enjoy the quiet stock exhaust on my new bike. It's kind of hard to creep out early from a motel or suburban neighborhood. You end up pushing the bike out a ways before starting.

Modern Akrapovic is road legal ie quiet. . Unless you do a bit of drilling. Got a KTM 950 with full Akrapovic no decibal killers and car drivers move like Moses parting the waves. Loud pipes save lives.

I agree 100% quiet is MUCH better. The only thing loud exhaust does is annoy the general public and it takes a lot more than a loud pipe to keep safe on the road...idiots are still idiots no matter how much noise you make.

@blob darkass haha. Yep. A bloke commented about loud pipes doesn't stop the idiots but in my 40 + year riding. You can tell the difference between being heard and not. Without a doubt.

Bought a Yam Tracer with an Akra on it recently. I giggled the whole way home and still do every time I downshift and it growls and pops, although to save the neighbours ears I've put the baffle back in so it's a little tamer 🤣 new exhaust suits the cb! Enjoy it 👏👏😁👌 Really enjoy your content - from a fellow female biker 💪👍🚺

I rode bikes and mopeds quite a lot during winter, when I was younger. Tried heated gloves, but that didn't help at all when temperature dropped below -10 C. Heated grips is the way to go, plus a "bag" of insulation of sorts to cover the hand and grip all together (reduces the wind and cooling effect). Otherwise, just plenty of clothes and an MX helmet with goggles and ski mask... (and studded tyres - that helps)

Best upgrade you can do to any bike is the Suspension, as all suspension units are built to a budget on production bikes by the manufacturer.
So go for the best that you can afford the Same with your Tyers then you will really enjoy the difference it will make.
Keep Riding and Enjoying it Lass 👏🙏👍

You should get a larger set of Barkbuster handguards. Wouldn't that block some of the wind and be a nice addition to your new heated grips? The bike is looking good Noraly. I am not at all surprised that Ronin is a much better ride than the Himalayan. I'm looking forward to more videos when the virus permits.

Now that you have that exhaust upgrade. I suggest that you have one more upgrade. Most manufacturers nowadays are obligated to lower the fuel and increase air as what is call lean mixture when they sell motorcycles. This translate into awkward AFR which cause low power, engine heat, jerky throttle and stiff gearing. The solution is the boosterplug. This device does not interfere with fuel injection or mapping of your motorcycle and it is simple to plug and play. Trust me you will not regret it.

If i'm correct, you can remove the baffle of your exhaust, a small allen screw underneath, and it'll sound a fair bit louder and more throaty.
    Ride safe and have fun.

Im not surprised of the Honda being the better road bike with so much extra power, and probably still with good fuel consumption. The shims are a PITA compared to lock nut tappets, but they dont need to be done so often. Fabulous to see how 12,000rpm puts a smile on your face!

From my experience driving a bike in the winter only the combination of heated grips and hand protectors really helps.
