This S550 W221 Sedan is a steal for $14,000.00. You need to replace car battery, perform oil change with new oil filter, replace both engine filters and cabin air filters, change power steering fluid and new brake fluid, replace rotors and brake pads with new tires. This sedan will run like a new car if you do all of the above. I did all those things as mentioned on my 2005 S500 W220 last year and it run steadily and smoothly over 90 mph on the freeway.
I’m not hating or anything but idk where you get the idea that these cars have body roll. I have a 2011 S550 and everyone who’s ridden with me says it takes the corners so easily. The air suspension is awesome at compensating in corners. And on reliability; these are absolutely bulletproof compared to it’s earlier brothers and sisters. Lots of more electronic stuff rather than hydraulic to keep it from breaking such as the soft close and the door locks. No more ABC hydraulic systems either. If you just do your preventative maintenance this car will exceed 200k maybe 300k miles. If you’re worried about spending a grand or a bit more a year to keep this thing running it isn’t a car for you.

Hey I just came across your videos a year ago but yes they are very good cars this is on the mechanic and I work on Beamers and Audis and Mercedes all the time and I would have to say out of the three of them the Mercedes is definitely the best when it comes to luxury and the performance cuz they're the only one out of the three to actually make a supercar I need m is a very good car but it's not a super car but the 550s for what it cost over $100,000 even the 2007 that's really no much different than the 2013 they just have two different Motors and the lights are a little bit different but it's the same car and the 2022 it really doesn't ride that much better it just has more fancy Gadgets in it but I still think the 2013 and 15 is a better car than the new one cuz I work on them all the time and they are pretty reliable yes they're expensive to work on any car breaks down it's more expensive so the parts are a little bit more money but it is very reliable if you do the maintenance on them they'll ask you a long time if you do your 15K your 30k you're 45 and you're 60 and you're 75 and 100,000 miles service on them the last forever the only issues they really have is sometimes with the older models of 2007 up to 10 and it doesn't happen that much is the computer by the trans and they have this bracket on the pulley but they affected that you could change and put a different one on but besides that the airbags you know the air suspension it could be costly but you could buy them for $200 a piece off eBay they're not that hard to change or no different than putting a regular strut in usually the air get clogged and you could adjust them there's a box inside on the left side where you get this just adjust them in they'll actually drop down and you can readjust them but I would say as a mechanic and as someone that has one and has super cars too that that S550 I have a 2008 it rides just as good as my Bentley or even better
Love the scroll wheel one of my favorite things on it. It is super easy to use and falls naturally at your hand it rocks. Maybe people a little slow in the head might have issues. This car does not ride like a Lincoln it is smooth but does not wallow and it does not have much body roll this guy's opinions are pretty much the opposite of the truth. I will buy 2020 over 2022 because of the scroll wheel that how nice it is to use. The command system on this car works great and is so simple to use and if the leather is maintained it is of great quality the wrinkle on the armrest is from the glue they used and is an easy fix.
Body roll is the sensation you feel when a heavy car with a soft suspension takes a turn. The weight of the car leans to one side and the soft suspension allows this, whereas in stiff suspensions (sport cars), the firmness of the suspension mutes any feeling of body roll. That is why you feel every bump on the road in sports cars, while luxury cars soften the road for the passengers
Omg where do I start!!! I had the exact same car with 55k miles on it, then my air suspension went out. I’ve been seeing them on the road more often lately 😮, I know they depreciate insanely quick but overall how reliable is this Generation given you keep up with the basic maintenance ? Thanks
Seems like a hit or miss depending on the previous owner. If it’s a 1 or 2 owner car, I wouldn’t be too worried (except the air suspension, those always go bad). If it’s been owned more than 5 times, you should be really careful.
