    This is great for chess. The world champ. Greatest of all times (arguably at worst) talking to us while he plays and still winning... Just a rare glimpse into a world champ in his prime. This is crazy. I'm literally looking around thinking "does anyone else realize how crazy this magnus vs etc while sharing his thoughts and looking at him play in the comfort of his own home is??" why do I feel like I've stolen something and waiting to get caught?? Yet the police are saying "it's OK here". I hope Magnus keeps makong/sharing these vids for a long long time.

      Nakamura does it too, and does all sorts of fun stuff too, like playing people with queen odds or worse, or playing blind, and its really fun. Naka topped at #2, and hasn't fallen out of the top 20 at any point since. He's not the #1, but I definitely find his videos more fun.

    I enjoy the format of single game analysis. I've seen the original stream and it's great. Like a good book it's even better on a second or third reading. So the convenience of a seven minute chapter provides me with plenty of food for thought.
    I am happy to see the classy GM Svidler or the other Chess 24 contributors short format games. Some are already posted such as GM Jan's "who is this guy" and GM Svidler's "this not how chess is played". Plus other GM's like Grischuk and Anand.
    I feel oh so fortunate to get to view and listen to the analysis.
    On a side note: World Champ Carlsen achieved his skills thru years of hard work. Yes he has special raw talent but "the world is full of derelict's with talent". And for him to share his thought process is a special privilege. Thank you.

    How come at 4:50 Magnus didn't take his B7 Pawn with his G2 Bishop? Wouldn't it just have been an easy Pawn to take?

    • @hood954
      @hood954 5 років тому +6

      Because it doesn't acheibe anything. There is an old chess saying (one of many) "to take is a mistake" if it doesn't improve your position or give you an advantage, its best to leave it alone. Having the bishop pair positioned like that cuts right through the board. Essentially the pawn is stuck there. If mareco tries to move that pawn without moving the rook, he loses the rook. Taking the pawn would lose tempo and wastes a move. The pawn poses no threat in that space, taking doesn't give any advantage and the bishop has no follow up moves/no real way to continue the attack. Also the king is on the other side of the board so attacking that side doesnt make sense

      Cuz its actually a bad move it will open carlsen's king after Bxb7 simply Bxh3 attacking the rook and a discovery on the bishop

    Why can't the king move to f8 ??

    • @anonymousopinions7636
      @anonymousopinions7636 4 роки тому

      He can move. But then the White queen will move to H8 then the black king have no way to save itself. Just one move away from pure check mate

    Sandro probably chose to lose on time versus being mated at the end next move.

    Iam never play cheess but i like his theory of estrategy. In a simple way magnus play very strong controling the center with paws forward, and the rest of the pieces preparing for attac and be sacrificed, but he always had in his mind “the rigth paw is vulnerable “ my queen and my paw can get his king , and he Go it in the final moment. But i know i miss somethings

      The black king?F2? On the other side of the board? If u were thinking about the take on H7 its impossible because of the bishop on E4 attacking that square

    • @prometheus5218
      @prometheus5218 4 роки тому

      Lmao Kf2. Nah bro like the other guy here said the queen was covered by the bishop, so he couldn't take the queen. He only can go Kf8 then Magnus only had to go Qh8. Checkmate.

    The opponent's last move is totally uncalled for. Too amateur. Maybe he realizes that he's going to lose on time anyway.

    • @RekoIRL
      @RekoIRL 5 років тому +4

      yea once he moves the king to F8 magnus moves the queen to H8 and then it's mate, basically one move away from mate and there's nothing he can do to prevent it
