rewatching highlights of royals 2014 and 2015 NEVER GETS OLD, BABY!! here we come again 2017!!
still feels so good- thank you 2015 royals
Navin Johnson 30 long years
Royals and fans deserved this World Series win so much! Never forget this small market team beats big! Not a Royals fan but live in the Midwest. This Buds for you K.C.!
Undisputed best comeback team of all time.
Hasselhoff 2001 No doubt. 2014 WC game vs Oak A's, down 4 runs bt8th. 2015 ALDS game4 vs Stros, down 4runs tp8th. Then I believe Mets lead in every game of the 2015 WS, I believe
Hasselhoff 2001 I was thinking the same thing
I still smile because, even though I live in Indiana, Royals and Chiefs fan for life. Both championships were done in the comeback fashion!!!
Since 2001 Mlb....u never know !!
If the 2001 Yankees had won the WS they might hold that title
Still get goosebumps. Great time to be a royals fan for the first time in 30 yrs
The further away we get from this the more surreal it is. This is one of the greatest stories in the history of baseball.
I dont know, the 85 club overcame 3-1 deficits in the ALCS and world series.
The 85 team also had much sucess to build off from previous years. They were so terrible for so many years before this team was built.
Well at least I will have this one WS for my team (in my lifetime) to remember ..... maybe I'll live to 2045, maybe not, who knows.
What I find heartwarming in watching theses videos again (and again...) now that KC is back to irrelevancy, is the diminutive, but still crystal clear BLUE cheer at that Mets stadium whenever the Royals did something good that game. It's so refreshing to hear that in an opposing stadium!
I got to see 85 as a kid and 14 and 15 as an adult.. absolutely precious..GLORIOUS..
Same..
8yrs old in 85...
37 & 38yrs old 2014/2015.
3yrs old, 1980 World Series vs Philles who KC had ZERO business losing too.
My Dad told me KC Royals were the best team in MLB fr 76-80.
Then very good fr 81-85.
Damn Yankees.
76-79...
KC should have 1 mo WS Title
What an awesome memory! That season was unbelievable.
being 33yrs old...I went through my entire life watching crappy Royals baseball til 2014. That Oakland sudden death playoff game was the most ridiculous game I've EVER watched period...but this was incredible. As soon as Wade Davis pitch left his hand I knew it was gonna be a watched strike3. Awesome memories. Hopefully the Royals can continue to rack up wins and win the division this year.
ColtSteel25 I'm 40, been to hundreds of Royals games since early 80s. I'm a DIEHARD
And now it'll be another 33 years before the Royals are good again. So sad.
These words never get old “inside corner”
Never.
Thank you so much for airing the actual play by play, and not ruining it with stupid bump music!
+Michael Holman You know that bump music you speak of? You know ESPN? The same bump music for over a decade. Don't believe me? I have ESPN's NFL 2k5 on PS2 and I am positive it existed before that, waaay before that. The same music is played on that game as on the NFL LIVE show or whatever crap Chris Berman is on. Whoop! He could Gooooo all the Way! Whatever segment that is on, the same exact music plays in the background over and over and over again for decades. Good bump music though Duh da da dunna dada du da, duhn a dun adun a dun..duna duhn a duhn a dad dad da ada
I get goosebumps watchin this its so inspirational this team just would not except defeat!!

Interesting fact: Christian Colon scored the winning run in the Royals' Wildcard win against the Oakland A's in 2014, and it happened in the bottom of the 12th inning. Last year in the game above, Colon drove in the go ahead run for the Royals "in the 12th inning."
Rawk4Life Yes he's had some clutch moments, but he really isn't very good. I don't ever see him becoming an everyday player.
Mr 12th Inning
hate seeing ventura out there makes me sad just seeing him, so happy he at least get to achieve his dream for a world series sad for his lose, RIP
FlashHoe I mean he was just stright up gone.
How can you listen to Rusty Kuntz say "Gimme some! Atta boy! Hell yeah!" to Colon and not just fall in love with baseball all over again?
I can't think of another team like KC in 14-15 that has been this fun to watch since the late 90s-early 2000s baseball. I guess it's all of their come from behind wins. Royals have this never say die attitude. Even when they lost game 7 vs SF, they're right there. They take advantage of your mistakes and when they do, they find a different strategy to beat you. Just like Hosmers hustle to tie the game. Great team
David Li Sadly people thought they were flukes because of that. But they all found out after 2015.
Man these were the days, this Royals team was so much fun to watch
Brother, the best!
This just never gets old!
Fact #2: Never load the bases when the next batter up is Lorenzo Cain, Alcides Escobar, or Salvador Perez. Ninety nine percent of the time, it will result in one or more RBI's.
Fact #3: When Wade Davis takes the mound, pack up your stuff and begin loading it on to your team's bus because the game is less than 10 minutes from being over.
You forgot one fact: Never quick pitch to Alex Gordon in a World Series game ;)
Happy for these guys that year, they deserved it. Glad that those core young guys they drafted in KC got their ring. Cheers from a Giants fan :)
game 7 2015 was a hard time for me lol
@@austinorgan3658 I can see why. You would have been the only one in the stadium. ;)
You mean 2014. And yeah, that was rough. Exhilarating, but in the end such a rough crash.
never will tire of watching this ;-D
That hot mic on Colon and Rusty at 6:13 is immortal
The Mets scored 1 runs in the 7th inning and on the Royals scored 15 runs the Mets could not score late the pitching for the Royals was to overwhelming and the Mets didn’t give this series away the Royals took it with timely hits and great defense
That year Wade Davis was absolutely a shut down closer. 1 run and it was game over
Ahhh... The taste of victory is never too sweet.
That was one hell of ah Moment i remember i was ah Bar with my best friend. An when that Finally Strike happened the whole bar just went Nuts i couldn't here myself talk....
BELIEVE!!
2X CHAMPS!!!! 85 - 2015
Hosmer sprint home was greatness! Who knows......Mets may have come back to win that series if he didn't do that.....
No shot they couldnt stop the stealing... holding runners and throwing them out was pathetic.
Idk about that. Apart from game 7 in 2014, KC was dominant in home playoff games.
Forever Royal
The Royals in the post season were masters at "finding a way", coming from behind when you thought they were done. Then a few years later, the Chiefs come in and take the championship the same way. What I'm saying is, DON'T COUNT KC OUT!
Royals are only good once every 30 years. They're perennial losers. Chiefs were a one- year wonder and will never win another Super Bowl with the Walrus.
Go KC!!!
@@vandrosia okay
Royals fans always come to UA-cam to jerk off to old videos since they're perennial losers.
Love it! I've been a Royals fan since 1975 because of George Brett!
George Brett is Alex Gordon's father, wait and see. The next 30 years of Gordon's life will playout the same and my kids will say the same about Gordon being the reason for being a fan. I just wish he would charge the mound some day. Gordon is a freak of nature, he is just too calm and comfortable making 10+ million a year. He blows bubbles while winning the WS.
+Jack Poontaint - Don't make George deny good old Alex!
Raised Royal 1969.
"they keep finding ways"
This team was great. Back in the 70's the royals had a team nicknamed the cardiac kids, for always coming back in late innings.
Never gets old.
The speed of the 2014-2015 royals amazes me
As a Braves fan, I must say, I was pulling for the Royals so hard.
Shii thx
Forever royal
Awesome!!! Freaking Awesome.... Wish we could of kept that team together a few more years
I wished that too, their chemistry and mentality of "keep the line moving" was epic
@MANCHESTER UNITED What the hell does that have to do with the price of rice in China? If you like soccer, go watch it. What the hell would you watch highlights from a baseball game for, if you don't like it. Oh, I get it, you just enjoy being a douchebag.
rip yordano Ventura
Yes Yordano Ventura miss you man!!
This is the night not only matt Harvey never was the same but the Mets have never recover from this
david brossett he only thought of himself not the team .
Love my Royals..
As a Blue Jays fan, I couldn't watch a single inning after KC beat us in the ALCS. This was exciting baseball.
3:53 The reaction of the Mets fans behind the backstop after Duda’s throw is just magical. Perfect summary of being a lousy Mets fan.
The NY Times did a unique story that's about a photo of that moment: "A front row seat: to misery"
@@MZ-df6cn Link me up my good man! I love reading about the crappy Mets!
Now only a few years later they are 5 losses away from 2 straight 100 lost seasons which is too bad some stars like hosmer went elsewhere but al least they had the shining moment
Magic man 200 The Royals will return; with young guys like Merrifield, Dozier, and Mondesi, a new core is coming to be. Watching this video(especially Colon’s RBI single) always gives me goosebumps. It was a great win.
Sincerely,
A Twins fan
Royals are good once every 30 years. They'll be good again in 2045.
I mean you gotta think about what core they had and then the death of yordano ventura that hurt their pitching a lot
Whatever a Mets win would have sent them back to KC and there’s no way on earth they would have won a game 6 and 7 on the road in Kansas City
Magic man 200 I agree
Didn't the giants beat the royals in game 7 on their turf. Thank you
I even said back then that I hope any visiting Mets fans got their share of the BBQ because they weren't coming back until Opening Day.
@@tommycha6015 no Madison Bumgarner beat the Royals in a game 7. Ppl forget we thumped em 10-0 the night before to force the game 7.
6:10 gotta love Christian and Rusty😂❤️
Moustakas, hosmer, Perez. 👌
How could you forget Cain.
forever royal right here
Man I'll never forget this night right after it was over I was going to buy my championship shirt
This team… And those postseason runs! Amazing fun!
Classic Mets, had these Royals in check all game, and couldn't finish it. When I Bartolo in there throwing barely 80 mph I knew it was over. #LGM
If you see this comment, it means we are going to have a good year
sadly not
30 years. Salvy the MVP.
This royal squad was so relentless man
lead off walks kill. IDK why terry collins didnt take Harvey out after that
Anthony Draghi because Harvey told him not to take him out lol
Great royals team.
you didn't show Ned Yost getting the salvy splash that was the best part of the celebration
Haha Addison Reed. He was with my White Sox a few years back. We Called him Add-on-runs Reed
LOL, not that good of a nickname to have if you're him.
Trailed 2-0 in the top of the ninth
Won 7-2
Let’s go!
That wasn't unbelievable baserunning by Hosmer. That was an unbelievably bad throw to home
salvaje20 a good throw and the games over
Yeah dumb move by Hosmer. Game should have been over right there.
It WAS unbelievable. Unbelievable that he went. Not good, but certainly unbelievable.
It was actually pretty dumb he just got lucky that the throw was more terrible than his decision to run
It was a risky gamble, yes. But it was also Lucas Duda on a team that hadn't played good defense. And the fact that the Mets weren't prepared for Hosmer to take off like that. The likelihood of a good throw was pretty small. You have to take that into consideration too.
The Royals were in the perfect position to take the gamble. The likelihood of pushing Hosmer home after Salvy's groundout was pretty low. And if Hosmer DOES get gunned out the chances of the Royals losing twice in Kauffman, in 2015, with the way that train was rolling... pretty minimal.
That wasn't bad baserunning. It was a calculated move. If he gets gunned down then reset. But if he scores, the Royals just might pull it out in Game 5. Which is precisely what happened.
These were the good old days
The reaction of the fans behind the backstop at 3:54 makes life worth living. Normal day in the life of a Mets fan.
Is anyone here after last nights game where Kevin cash poor Blake Snell when he was dominatingKevin Cash was going off at athletics and not his gut about how good his picture was pitching Blake Snell was the opposite of Matt Harvey and he got pulled in his team lost Matt Harvey stays in the game and his team loses quite a story Ha i’m a Royals fan by the way most importantly I’m a baseball fan
You Deserved it even though we choked every game we lost You showed Good Batting Good Defense we showed Okay Offense Horrible Defense
Why Is half the stadium empty at times
Wow, thanks for the memories :)
#ForeverRoyal
Worst coaching I've ever seen. Mets manager allowed the Mets crowd to make his decisions. Lol, I'll take it being a lifetime Royals fan. But I truly believe Mets send out Familia(best closer in NL that season) in tp9th? Mets send it to a Game6
Jason Peter's yeah... cuz we all know how clutch familia was... Royals were winning no matter what.
It looked like Harvey was making the decisions, not the crowd. Then again, the Mets were borderline marketing their starting pitchers like a boy band that year, lol
@@majinmexican9833 To be fair, he had been pretty clutch throughout the playoffs. Then he hit a very determined blue wall.
this reminds me of 2000 the mets lost in five that year and luis sojo was the hero just like Chris cologne. al Leiter matt Harvey ninth inning and they could not get it done.
And then the Royals lose Ventura to a car accident and Cueto, Zobrist, Cain and Hosmer to free agency.
moose too
Somebody tell me who was the three headed monster what was the order of our bullpen that year a friend of mines bet me, I remember Wade Davis being the setup guy and Kevin Herrera being the closer
Greg Holland
Originally it was H-D-H. Herrera, Davis, Holland. In that order. Then, Holland got hurt mid 2015 season, and it became Hochevar, Herrera, Davis as the final three.
@@LoLXaxziminrax No, Hochevar was a middle reliever who'd take 5/6 if the starter couldn't go that far. It was Ryan Madsen with Herrera and Davis, and usually it was Herrera with the 7th and Madsen with the 8th, though they would be swapped sometimes.
We also had Yordano Ventura bringing the heat with that low fastball. RIP, man.
Holland was injured early in the year. Inning 8 was madson this postseason run
THIS was the team
Let me say this... I like the Mets too, feel a lot of similarities franchise wise... even though NYC and KC not the same markets clearly....You will get another one before we do... but Mets fans got to quit complaining.... The Royals team, coaches, scouting was just flat out better that series and probably that year..
You won ONE game in the series. When we got beat in 1980 by the Reds and Rose, we got beat by a better TEAM. Same in 2014 with MadBum.
Huh? Dude they played the Phillies in 1980.
@@ThePatriotfan83 yeah and Pete rose was on that team and they beat KC easily in ws
There it is Cheslor Cuthbert from Corn Island Nicaragua
Hosmer hit the Wheat Thins sign
Doug Hanson ... yes indeed, Wheat Thins will live in our memory forever for that Hosmer clutch hit to that sign.
I am glad the Royals made Matt Harvey regret his premature strut out to the mound to start the 9th inning. Mets fans are going to disagree, but Harvey threw that pitch towards Cain's head on purpose, and no one, not even the pathetic Joe Buck, called him out on that dirty pitch.
Earlier in the series Noah Syndergaard clearly intentionally threw at Escobar's head. Everyone knew it. And what did the announcers do? They fucking PRAISED him for being competitive.
During the regular season Herrera had thrown behind another player. Not even CLOSE to hitting said player. And he was demonized as a headhunter and suspended.
Syndergaard tries to hit someone. Herrera does not, though admittedly he sends a message. One is praised the other is suspended. Double fucking standards.
60 degrees is unseasonably warm??? 60 degrees is chilly. Tell Buck he’s not a meteorologist.
60 degrees is nice weather
WesleyAPEX naw 60 degrees where I’m at feel hella good
54 is the average high temperature for Kansas City in November so it was warm, now someone tell Buck he's not a sports caster.
@@johnhinkle1638 this was in NY

Any Royals players watching this?
I was at this game and it was insane

When the Mets go down, they go down hard. 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

Harvey should've been taken out after the lead off walk.
Hindsight is 20/20 but I remember watching this game on TV. All the Mets fans were screaming for Harvey to stay in the game. He pitched well up to that point and the Mets fans wanted their savior Harvey to bring a win home for them. LoL. Reminds me of the saying - "Be careful what you wish for, you might get it.". You got what you wished for, Mets fans, now live with it. A tiring starter too proud to admit to his manager that he was out of gas. I bet Harvey thinks about this game every day wondering "what if".
I think royals must be call back zobrist
I'm a die hard mets fan but Terry Collins has to be one of the worst managers in baseball. I understand keeping Harvey in but after the leadoff walk AND a stolen base? You have to take him out. It's too important of a game.
Abel Perez
Most Royals fans would say the same thing about Ned Yost, especially in 2015
Abel Perez imagine if he would've took him out before that inning....would've been the same reaction probably. Dunno about the outcome
How do you understand keeping him in? Because he said so in the dugout?
erik hosmer
Eric Hosmer
this is my favorite team ever

Small Market Royals COMPLETELY WHOOPED New York Mets ass!!!!
THANKS for SHARING your VIDEO !! (RUBYBABE)
This team (Mets) are cursed. I’m convinced of that. I don’t know if they choke ...if they panic..but they’ve blown it sooo many times. It’s heartbreaking
They panic. Mets fans and players always have it in the back of their mind, "don't mess it up". And instead of going out and getting the job done, there's that tiny, little bit of panic and it somehow overshadows everything and it all goes to hell. They need a complete mental reset with the team and organization. They should have easily gone to a Game 6.
Nope, #28's eyes were up, not on the ball. Happens to all of us at some time or other.
Wait hosmer used to be good?
Comment hasn't aged well
Yup. Until he signed with the Padres for big dollars and decided, "I don't give a damn anymore. I got mine."

Makes me think of those 86 Mets how they came back and beat Boston, now Royals just put it together and got the breaks n the top of the inning to be the Mets. I had watched the 2014 WS game 7 yesterday when Mad Bum just took control and the Royals just needed 1 run to tie but couldn't do it. But its kinda funny cause I already knew Giants were gonna win AND I already knew the Royals were gonna do this in this game. NOW I know too bout the 2016 WS Cubs r gonna win that WS on my birthday.
