Oh my gosh!! The time that went into this video is truly appreciated!!!💜 I am new to all the things cricut and you have saved me so much time and embarrassing moments by not giving a present that nots durable. I really appreciate you and all your video!!! Thank you!!
I also thank you, i have been customizing t-shirts for eight years just decided to dabble in mugs, thank you so much you have truly educated me and saved many steps and mistakes keep up the great videos blessings to you and again thank you.
Great comparisons! I'm not ready to jump into sublimation yet, so it's great to know permanent vinyl is a possible solution. I appreciate your dedication to testing so we don't have to🌞
I absolutely love sublimation aas there is no worries about them lasting. I found the permanent vinyl has lasted a very long time and I throw ALL my mugs in the dishwasher daily. I Have one that has Modge podge on it, which was one of my very first mugs about 6 months ago and it still looks just like when I first made it. Very cool. I'm just now trying water slides so I will see how it turns out too. LOVED the video. I always appreciate all your videos testing things out and explaining things so well. Once again, Thank you for sharing. 👍
EVERYTHING I wanted to know about crafting coffee mugs!!!! You're a beast. Accurate and thorough testing with a wonderful wrap-up at the end. Impressive and so helpful. This is my second video of yours I've watched (the first being 10 items to sell). I'm hooked on your style of videos, pacing, and information. Looking over your library of videos, I can't wait to watch the rest. Thank you for this.
I have some off brand sublimation coffee mugs that faded badly. I will only sell Cricut brand, so I feel confident that the sublimation won't fail. Thank you for all your work Angie!
I'm a newby cricuteer (LOL) and you have taught me so much. You are a GREAT teacher and I really appreciate you sharing all your knowledge with us! You're my go-to!
My goodness! I really appreciate all the work and detail you put into this video. I do have the Cricut Mug Press. But I also want to buy myself the Epson printer and use sublimation inks. I think putting photos on mugs will be exactly what I plan for my Christmas gifts this year. And I certainly don't want to be embarrassed by having a "fail". Thanks so much for this fabulous video! I love ALL of your videos. You're a genius when it comes to teaching us!
Thank you for this video!! I was about to sell some mugs using the waterslide decal method but thanks to this video, I'm seeing that would be a huge mistake! This was great ,thanks!!
Thank you so much Angie for your time spent on this video! It is so helpful to see a wide range comparison like you did to better understand the pros and cons and you even debunked some myths ! Really appreciate your work and dedication, thank you!
Wow! I wished I would have found you sooner! But at least I found you when I did! I did 7 mugs with the dishwasher Mod Podge. I am not sure if you are able to do this, but I cured mine in the oven at 170 for an hour.. I have read conflicting information saying you shouldn't. But needless to say, I don't think I will be using Mod Podge for my mugs in the future. I noticed it peels right off along with the vinyl. I think the drawback is that it doesn't adhere to the surface enough to keep water from getting behind it. So now I'm peeling the Mod Podge off and starting over with just the permanent vinyl. I'm a newbie to all this, so glad I found you!!!!!😊
This is one of my favorite types of videos. You save us so much time and money! I have tried dishwasher safe moge podge and really did not like it at all for the reasons you mentioned. I am very dissapointed about the waterslide decals. I was planning on trying that one of these days and was hoping it could be an alternative to sublimation for me I have great success with permanent vinyl, I just don't enjoy using permanent vinyl much. The cricut infusible ink sheets is my favorite ways to make mugs. So much fun. And except for me doing bone-headed things like apply the sheet upside down or missing some weeding, they always come out beautifully (with a silicone wrap in a craft oven)
Hi Angie, thank you so much for doing all the different variations in your testing. I've done infusible ink mugs as gifts and was wondering about permanent vinyl - you have answered my questions and then some.
Thank you so much for this video, it’s amazing and so helpful. I’m just starting using Cricut vinyl and am not feeling very confident, I am subscribed to your channel now and can’t wait to see more videos!
I don't want to buy the Cricut mug press, but I have a saying I want to put on a mug for my grandson. So I was thinking waterslide and that's the reason I've watched two of your videos. Now, however, after watching this video, even though I'm sure my grandson won't be putting the mug in the dishwasher, I'm going to focus on sublimation and forego waterslide. Now to find your video on different methods of doing sub mugs. I cannot thank you enough for this great education.
Thank you Angie! I watched a lot of your videos about sublimation and just ordered a sublimation printer! Will start making some mugs! Thank you so much providing so many helpful information and resources:-)
thank you for this! so very helpful. I am so impressed with the permanent vinyl mug. I just got a mug press and I will be trying infusible ink for the first time. I will be searching your channel for any how-to videos on layering invisible ink. Thanks again!!
This is a real great comparison on the different ways you can make and how they they hold up. I do love the Infusible Ink sheets and Markers (because I don't do the Sublimation type). I wonder how about the SUBLIGLAZE SPRAY onto mugs, on how they would hold up. You bake the mugs to cure to the mug, then you can do your work on it like a normal Sub Blank. Hmm lol I love watching your tutorials. Great truthful reviews!
Thanks for doing this video! I'm a Cricut newbie and tried permanent vinyl on glass coffee mugs and had great results also -- the one that did fail I think was user error -- I hadn't clipped the transfer tape so applying to the curved surface was tricky and maybe I didn't press hard enough with my fingers after removing the transfer tape. I did get 10 - 12 washes before the vinyl started lifting. I hope to try sublimation sometime in the near future. I love your channel - I go to you before I start any project!
Thank you am a beginner in all of these techniques and this video has answered so many questions. I watched it after learning about water slide paper from your video. You are a very good instructor. Really really good ! You gained a new subscriber.
I just want to say that you are THE BEST If scientists only made as many variations as you do, I'm sure we would find cures for stuff faster LOL I am so excited to watch this video. It saves me so much time. I'm not going in the mug making business but I do like to make them for special occasions to upsell my products
Thank you for this! I have been searching which vinyl to use and if I need to use modpodge. I hope this would work the same for stainless tumbler I will make a label for the swim team.
I had a customer that had her sublimation coming off around the lip where she drinks after 6 months (made in the cricut mug press with hippoo ink) it is now coming off even further down. She swears she only hand washes it even though I dish wash mine with no trouble, so I asked her if she is using a soft dish cloth or a scour. She swears a soft cloth but I find it hard to believe. We did a test with one I had just made that had a bit of a black blowout near the handles. I used a scour and I got nearly all of the blowout off it. So I now advise my customers to use a soft dish cloth when hand washing. I found this very interesting as I have never had anyone else complain.
Thanks so much for an excellent review. I really needed to know this information. You have saved me time and money. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. May God continue to bless you richly. Thank You!!!🤝🌹
This is super great information! Angie do you have one on washing Tumblers? I put a sublimated one in the diswasher and it seemed to fade with the 1st wash.
Thank you so much for this! I made a sublimation mug that I purchased from a local vendor and it washed completely off in the dishwasher. I realized that it was the mug but was wondering how other applications would hold up in the dishwasher
Hi thank you for the great video. I had trouble with the Cricut infusible ink sheets bleeding in my dishwasher. I found out on the Cricut website that you can not use the sanitize setting on your dishwasher. Since I turned that off I have had no problems. Just thought I would share just in case someone else was having that problem. I look forward to your next video 😃

Great comparison, Angie! Just one question, did you put the waterslide in the oven for 15 mins on 230 degrees? That's what the directions say, and I'm wondering if that would help?
I find that inkjet printable vinyl and HTV does not last as long as a general rule. You can get some printable vinyl products that have a laminate you can use over the top and that is a bit better.
@@AngieHolden do have any names of some that come with a clear permanent vinyl over top or do I need to buy that seperate and if buying separate if added over the printable vinyl would it then be good for hard washing only or have you tried it in a dishwasher?
Thank you so much for all your videos. I'm about to start sublimation and am watching all your videos first (maybe twice lol). Do you know if the stainless steel tumblers are dishwasher safe? They seem to say not for dishwasher so I'm wondering what is different with them than ceramic mugs. Thank so much.
Angie, what about Sublimation in mug press and foil names on it. I tried dishwasher modge podge on just the foil. I do not like the line. Suggestions? I made mugs for nine of my High School friends.
Great video! For your mugs, how do you put your logo on the bottom of the mug? Do you do permanent vinyl or dish washer modge podge? I use sublimation for printing around my mug, but the Cricut mug press doesn't do well with putting a design on the bottom. Help?
Loved this video. Thank you. Question in relation to the permanent vinyl - Do you know if the vinyl is toxic to your skin? 🤷🏼♀️ Like if I put a saying on the mug and it has to start up the top of mug where your lips go to drink your beverage , is this an issue in regards toxicity ? Thank you, that was really very helpful. Have you tried baking the mugs with permanent vinyl or HTV in the oven? I got advise to do so to make last longer
@Angie, there is a material called HTV Anything, it is used in htv that makes it dishwasher safe. Its sold by the Rhinestone World, you can check it out.
Thank you so much! You just answered so many questions! Did I miss where you talked about how the removable vinyl (inside the sunflower) worked? Just curious. I love your videos!
Hello Angie, thank you for all the hardwork. You mentioned in video that the dishwasher safe mod podge on the permanent vinyl set for the same three days as the one without mod podge. The directions say to let it cure for 28 days. Do you think this is why it didn't last?z

Love your videos! Thank you for all you do. Would sublimation tumblers be dishwasher safe also when you use sublimation ink and cook in oven?
Yes, absolutely!
