- The video demonstrate replacing old ATF Filter on Honda Stream RN6. Maybe suitable for other Honda cars like Civic, Accord or City. This is non CVT gearbox. Hope the video will help you. It did not require special tools to do this. For my case, I did not have the records of when was the last replacement. I have this cars in 2014...now 2020, guess its time to change. Thank you for sharing this video and it is very helpful if you are a DIY person. I checked with a very experienced mechanic specialized in Honda vehicles (one who knows about the existence of this filter) and what he mentioned to me is that this is not a replacement part in any of their regular transmission services. However he also mentioned that, if one hasn't changed the ATF fluid for ages (maybe more than 5 years/ 50k miles or so) AND having transmission related issues, it is best replace this along with any fluid change/ flush any other repair end up doing.
IMO, if it was never changed before, probably a good preventative maintenance option to reduce chances of an expensive transmission repair.

Welcome... This atf filter better because it is outside gearbox. Easy to change.
what is the recommended ATF filter replacement interval
I agree. I checked with a Honda dealership today regarding this part and they say there's not ATF filter for my RN6. When I checked, I can clearly see it's there.

Boss, patut mau extra sikit minyak atf dlm 200ml sebab u suda tukar atf filter. Kalau regular change okayla pakai 3 liter sebab itu minyak atf yg di filter ke atas tidak turun masa buang minyak atf. Cuba cek minyak atf dgn gear di N bkn di P. Cukup atau tidak minyak itu. Tq
saya tukar masa enjin sejuk semalaman...semua minyak atf dah turun. ada sikit saja dalam filter. anyway, terima kasih info. sehingga hari ini september 2020, tiada issue.

Itu CVT gearbox. Guna ATF CVT…ready 2.8L if replacement only (user manual). The best method…measure the amount you drain and pour the same amount. Because CVT dont have dip stick

Would this part be the cause of there's delay in shifting?
Just replace it because the filter not changed maybe since 2008. Kinda DIY Preventive maintenance. For your problem of delay shifting, probably there's problem with your gearbox torque converter. Need to check at workshop or mechanics that know how to identify gearbox problem.
Question. I have 2007 Honda stream rn6 RSZ. I have 5 speed with paddle shifters. Is my transmission cvt? What type of transmission oil do you recommend for my car? Thanks.
RN6 1.8L not CVT. RN8 2.0L using CVT.

Kalau dalam manual kereta ni, tak ada detail berapa KM perlu tukar. Jadi mungkin setiap 50k atau 10 kali tukar ATF sesuai tukar sekali. Ini hanya cadangan saya

How did you measure how much ATF it needs?
User manual stated normal ATF drain and fill up 3 liters only.

Have any diff after changing atf filter?
Can't feel much diff. Maybe the old filter not that bad. Anyway, it's good to change as we know there lots of friction in gearbox. I change ATF once a year...maybe that's contribute to good gearbox and less dirt in ATF filter. For me filter is wear and tear parts... just change after maybe 5 years. Thanks
