Someone just said this is a VST in a box. Don't know nothin about that as I don't use computers for much (tablet does most everything). But I always love this machine. It's the one digital I go back and forth on. Sounds are great and I love the compact format. just big enough and small enough at the same time.
Analog filter though
novation has been going downhill their last ok synth was mini nova/ ultranova this is just a mcvst in a box with knobs lost all previous Novation signature sound. They did make good midi controllers which i have not sure how the new ones are now maybe they are crap too.

Lets face it Novation Peak is a failure it is software in a box you can buy a software vst that does exacly what peak does for under 200 bucks. Novation doesn't even try to make their hardware synths sound better then software now. Novation isn't the only company doing this now. Many "hardware" synths are just software in a box and nothing special do your own research.

What does that even mean. There are VSTs out there that sound like an analog Synthesizer. Comparing vsts with hardware synths is apples to oranges anyway. You can play it without your pc and have knobs and all of that. of course it costs more than just the software. Also sound is depending on taste. There is no better or worse.
you would have to grow up in the 80s to get what i am saying but i still don't get why someone would pay maybe $600 bucks or more to get the same usefuleness and maybe even better ability and sound quality out of a $200 vst. @@dreamwalks8200
