The Oscillators are digitally generated at 24MHz to completely remove any possibility of aliasing but the filters are analog so it’s a hybrid synth that sounds amazing!
You can make it sound very early analogue too add diverge and drift on the Oscillators and in voices menu add filter diverge in the Mod menu add noise to all oscillators pitch.
I totally agree with you. Peak is one of the best Desktop Synths still....I love the last Sound in your Video, it sounds so spacy, lush and ambient. Absolutely amazing... I love my Peak and I will never give it away...
Same for me , i bought the Peak 5 years ago and it's always a musical journey when i play with it ( especially with Cosmos pedal it's a perfect combo )
I sold my peak.... and bought a Summit. The Peak/Summit are very underrated, from the really nice layout to the diverse/beautiful sounds it can create.
You don’t need that extra efx unit imo. You can achieve really gritty and lush pads with lots of character all on its own. Distortion, filter distortion, noise, osc 3 filter modulation an excellent creamy reverb and a nice delay is more than enough.
I swapped the peak... for a summit. Great synth, great effect, warmth all over. Dark filters. Great stuff, really adds to other synths in the studio...
At first I bought the Peak. I own many synths but to me it sounded that good that I've sold it as soon as the Summit was available. Simply the best synth since the Virus TI.
It came down to the Summit or the Polybrute for me. I got the summit. It is an amazing synth. It’s too bad the designer for the Summit died, and took a lot of knowledge with him. Seems to be why they haven’t provided an update to fix some of the bugs.
Yeah, Peak instantly became one of my favorite synths. Digital (not analog) oscillators, but they really sound great and it is a super flexible synth. Filter and distortion are analog btw. I'm so happy with it and it makes me smile every time I play it. Reverb is one of the best I know (for ambient lush stuff) and I wish it had input so you could use it as a 'pedal' :) (Summit can, but hey..... too big, too pricey) Love your channel btw and subbed to stay connected!

I really like my Korg Modwave but the fx section/arp isn’t nearly as easy to use as on the Peak. I’ll miss what Modwave is capable of, but I think I’m switching…
Had a peak for a bit and returned it, but now I want one again. Also wondering if you’ve tried the Analog Heat mk2, I love mine and have considered the Baum because I want more analog distortion!

se la scheda ha mono in, non puoi, perderesti un canale. ti conviene uscire mono dal peak o dalla tr, magari pannando tutto a dx o sx. Comunque domande piuttosto complicate che meritano uno studio più' approfondito. Ciao!
Hey man :-) How heavily is the BOUM doing its thing here, just compression or also saturating? I can hear a beautiful saturation which I thought was only possible with an Overstayer Modular Channel (or other expensive unit). But of course the PEAK has analog distortion too so maybe that is what I am hearing? Thank you! Ps. Can you please make another video of the Overstayer destroying for example an Isla S2400? I would love to hear it in more extreme setting! Thank you again 💖
In this case Boum is really light, I show that on. a few occasion. I can honestly say that boum is a wonderful pedal and for many reason move useful than the overstayre to me ( portability, ease of use and immediacy). But , as you can imagine, the modular is way mor versatile.

I've had a Hydrasynth for about a year and my PEAK arrives tomorrow :) I think they are both amazing synths, and although there is some overlap between the two they each excel at certain things. From what I've heard of the Peak so far, it sounds fantastic, and I love the panel layout. I can't wait to unbox mine tomorrow!
@@vatolegato Sadly, I haven't used either of them much for a while. I got very busy moving house, and I haven't got my studio set up yet at the new place. The Peak sounds really lovely - I agree with the many people who have said the filter and the reverb in particular are excellent. The only thing I found a slight disappointment was the lack of MPE support (I have a Linnstrument). I don't think there's much reason to compare the Peak and the Hydrasynth really, as they represent different philosophies and different workflows. I think they're both extremely well designed. Oh... and I should add that I have the keyboard version of the HS, so that's probably one reason I see them filling different roles :)
My bad its not a compressor, it's an 'analog warming processor,' still don't understand why you'd spend 40 minutes not demonstrating the sound of this synth by putting it through an expensive fx pedal. It's a fantastic synth, I recommend doing it some justice with JUST the sound of the synth as it is. Just my opinion.

@@lb659 Faders are never a waste of Space in a Studio environment, imagine them in a row and you could use them for sequencer duties (I know the Peak doesn't have a sequencer)
@Ooramusic i had Blofeld , Micro Q and Microwave xt.. those old ones have a lot of character.. the XT is very fun because of the interface..but Blofeld had the most beautiful complex evolving lush textures and ambiant pads which i'm still unable to get today with software ,even with the Largo plugin! for the price , the Blofeld should be in every producers studio .
No, it’s a digital synth, not analog. They market it as “better” than digital claiming the (Oxford) chips are different. But they’re still digital. I haven’t tested it so I don’t know how well it emulates analog sound. For the price ($1,400) I can just buy a real analog synth though, and use a computer for digital stuff. But the interface is really nice. We need more analog synths with this kind of interface. Like Hydrasynth too, which got an even better interface. But Hydrasynth I’ve tried and wasn’t impressed with sound quality at all. This one might be better?
@@TranceElevation no. The ability to share voices across different MIDI channels or different sounds per MIDI note. What is called a Multi on other synthesizers. I like to play live and normally I would have a 2 voices for a bass and lead then typically the rest for a pad or similar. Apparently the summit will do 2 voice Multi timbral but that's still not enough.
@@cartervliem2298 pro one, traxwave r1, sh101 (processed), octave cat (original v1), prophet 5, minimoog. juno 6, MKS80…. Layer a TX81z underneath to taste. Different taste of, lean, heavy and solid bass. Synths like Peak give you a digitally hyped bass. Even If you like that thing, matrix 6r or an Emu sampler have a similar “bass hype”, and sound better to my ears. Nothing against the peak, great interface and design, I just think that bass is not that great in it.

Compared to Deepmind 12 and Hydrasynth, this one sounds the best. But it's also the most expensive by far, so the choice isn't obvious.
It is easy to find it on the used market tho, so one can save a little!

@@vatolegato The Hydrasynth is incredibly flexible, but not as easy to get nice sounds. The Peak is also powerful, and is easier to get a nice sound.

Different beasts. Peaks to me is amazing for textures and pads, while the sub is great for basslines and lead melodies.

Well its got a real analogue filter.
Only criticism I have, and they didn't improve with Summit: They should have put both Mod envelopes on the panel with faders.
I guess there was no more space :)
Loopop has done a good video on this back in 2018, it's on his website.
I'd hate to have 3 sets of faders on my Summit. Seems like a waste of space.

I had the iridium for a while, very capable synth but too much for me. would love to try the other classics tho
