Yup I did the same brake upgrade on my GS as well. I shaved the bolt lol. Zero issues to this day. I will be getting RCA's for mine and will be changing the outer tie rod end as well. I used the stock GS rotor though and used a spacer to keep to the rotor center to the caliper so it does not rub. It's a night and day difference in brake performance. ( Don't do it my way )
How much did you have to shave that bolt?
@@mithplays3654 I shaved only the side it would make contact with by a couple millimeters. It's on the car 3years now no issues I daily my car to work. I put my car through tight bumpy corners every other day never once it touched. Won't advise anyone do it I've been known to be lucky all the time.

I’ve been getting into cars for the past few months and this video has been very helpful because I plan on getting a gs300 in the near future and want to do the ls400 brake upgrade as well. But I want to do it on all 4 wheels so do I have to get the same size calipers, rotors and pads for the back that I use on the front or are the sizes for back tires different ?

I really want to change my calipers too but I just got brand new oem ball joints installed. Not looking to shave the stud nor drop the car with RCAs as I'm on new stock struts and not looking to lower the car anytime soon. Sucks. Oh well.
They do make a huge difference compared to the stock gs300 brakes

I would say wheel has to be a minimum of 17” I’m not sure on the offset

Honestly most coil overs feel the same to me for regular city street driving

With the rca does a ls400 direct fit onto the hub once u cut the dust shield, I was told some years for the gs have different mounting locations, what year is youre gs?
That is correct
With the RCA and the dust shield removed it’s a direct bolt on
Besides the RCA, is any other adapter needed for the calipers? Straight plug and play from the autopart store?

so this may be stupid, but can I just get orca spacers for the front and rear for now until I get coilovers? im on stock suspension and stock 16" wheels. looking to lower the car a bit and put on some 18x9.5 wheels, how much does it drop the car?

yes you can it drops a decent amount with the RCA spacers
Did you have any problems with the brake fluid in the resovior rising say over night ? I put supra brakes in, bleed them and the brake fluid rises over night then drops when I turn on ... any ideas

For the rear, did you use GS300 rotors and calipers or LS400 rotors and calipers?
I used stock rear gs300 rotors and calipers for the rear
I only upgraded the front

These calipers came on the 95-00 style LS400.rotors and pads are the same 95-00 Lexus ls400 will work just fine
i noticed on the link for the stainless steel lines it says sc300/sc400 those will fit the same gs400 correct?

Does anybody know how mutch more do these stick out. I'd love to upgrade, but I already have aftermarket wheels and the gap between spokes and caliper is not that big about 15mm

What year LS did you get the calipers n rotors from?
Not sure the exact year of the car they came from but all 95-00 are the same

No you need to get LS400 rotors as well

They are hre 540’s
Front are 19x9
Rear are 19x10

You can use the stock lines
But I would recommend replacing them since these cars are pretty damn old already
do you have to remove the dust shield ? did my on gs400 did not remove or cut the dust shield
you can work around them however I choose to just get rid of them

When u bled the brakes do you have to bleed all 4 brakes or just the fronts only even though u did the fronts only?
I only bleed the front

They should be the same, The ones I use are for an mk4 supra
How did you remove the dust shield? Do you have to cut it?
yes you have to cut it off
How did you bleed the brakes?
I honestly forgot to add the bleeding part to video but it was pretty straight forward the calipers have a big valve in the back just get some one to pump the brakes bleed them 3-4 times and your set don't forget to refill the brake fluid reservoir when your done :)
The link for the adapters is different from the ones you have, will it work the same??
