I played for Marshall in the season of 88 (we were in the book because we played Permian in game #2 of the season), and we watched the scouting video where Boobie was injured on the sidelines. It looked almost exactly like the Willis McGahee injury. It was a brutal hit across an exposed knee joint that was catastrophic. Back then (literal) film was watched on a projector that either went forward or backwards controlled by a clicker. Our coach kept going forward and backwards on the moment of impact out of slight morbid curiosity. I had to look away because it made me feel sick. Boobie was a baller though, and would have been a big time player. My backfield teammate was Odell Beckham (yes, OBJ JR’s dad) and we saw a number of opponents who were high quality as well, and I can tell you Boobie was headed for greatness before the injury. Had that happened 12 to 15 years later, he might have been able to come back. The medical treatment available back then could not have helped him at that time though.
Glad to know that Boobie is still out there living his life.

Then why not stay away from criminal behavior ? Isn't he back in jail now? And before you come for me I was abandoned from my father at 15. Then homeless for 5 straight years. Before this my mother hung herself in front of me when I was 8. I made it to college and played injured every year.
