  • Charles of Wills Racing walks you through the whole process of assembling a stock motor, starting it in a stand to putting it in a bike and taking it testing. This is long and he references other videos he has done on bearings and transmissions. You can find those videos in his library on his UA-cam channel "Willis Racing".

    Charles, fantastic video! Just what I'm needing. I've got a gen 1 now needing a full clean out. One of the pressure plate bolts sheared off at @90mph and blew through the cover.. Hence Mr. Glitter was around... Not good. Luckily there's no damage other than the pressure plate, cover and new bolts. Still it needs a full strip down to clean and inspect.. Not done this engine before but is a real handy tool for the little things manuals don't tell you...
    I love your engine cradle.. How do you get the engine in it?
    What oil are you using for mains lube?
    And lastly how are you cleaning case faces?
    Keep these coming tiger.. Close in shots would be better.. 👍

      Sorry! for the delay. I was racing in FLA.
      Bearing Lube: Rislone HY-PER LUBE mixed half and half with a 100% ZINC
      Cradle is bolted to the head of the engine the same as if it was the frame, using the stock frame bolts.
      Clean with any brake clean.
      Thanks! for the info. on my video tech. I hope to improve on those skills later.

    GOLD information, thank you! How similar do you think a zx10r engine would be to this? Im thinking somewhat close

    Looking at 02 Hayabusa with 5800 original miles for $6k. All stock except yoshi slip on. Are these older bikes still worth getting? Or should i be looking at a Gen2?

    I blew a head gasket water was leaking into cylinder so took apart motor had to fly cut the head .010 and deck the cylinders .005 stock 1300 Hayabusa Gen2 in Am I in trouble. ?

      @willisracing2324  Місяць тому +1

      Because you decked the head .005 and shaved the block .015. You have may have to re- shim the engine to get piston to valve clearance. You unknowingly got yourself a little more horse power by closing up the gap and making more compression

      @ total was .010 off of head and only.005 off of cylinders . Going to try and get away with just using copper spray only. Hope I don’t blow it up.

      I would go with Cosmetic copper base gasket .005 part number B0402005C and check your clearance.

    I have a 2022 gen 3 that now wont start when warmed up. It sounds like its dying when trying to start. I checked the battery and the battery is fully charged. Whenlooking it up it sounds like its been a common issue with others who have this bike but i cant find any answers. Have you run into or heard of this problem with these new gen 3's? Its getting frustrating for me.

      Check you fuel! You may have gotten some under graded fuel. Make sure that the service station that you get fuel at has true 93 octane rating. Drain the tank and put fresh fuel in. If that does not solve the problem. Check the Ground on your battery and make sure you have it clean and tight and check the ground wire down by the starter.
