What about setting the stack of railings so the fan is blowing down their length, instead of across? You have lots of air resistance with the rails all perpendicular to the direction of travel. I kinda made a bomber plane myself. But problem is getting down, getting up is easy. It has a similar design to world 1 planes and uses 2 construct heads with cannons on wings + 5 vents just for the damn lift. I also tried to make it work with electric engine, but its to heavy for it. Maybe a railing 4x araund it would work to prevent it from hidding ground, while still making lift.
@@chesepuf Well the plane is light enogh so you can abuse recall to recharge your energy and go back to bombing. You also land by abusing re-call as it destroys its forward power and makes it easier to go down.
Why is everyone treating air resistance completely backwards? More air resistance means you're going to have more drag, which means you'll be going slower, not faster. A parachute has a ton of air resistance, which is how people survive falling out of the sky. They also use them to slow planes down when landing and drag cars at the end of a run. So if you stack more of these railings together and you're going faster than you were, then that means it's experiencing the opposite of air resistance...streamlining, if you will. Max streamlining would be with no rails, not a lot of them, so either something is pear shaped with the physics or people aren't understanding what the rails are doing.
You're right, but the fan provides faster air than the surrounding static air so in that sense, they do experience air resistance from the fan pushing them away.
@@Skinflaps_Meatslapper Exactly. Some developer wanted the rails to be used, otherwise they wouldn't be so easy to detach, but I don't think the whole studio wanted that
Yes, the strange property that people are noticing clearly has nothing to do with air resistance. I want to say it's unnaturally low weight, maybe even negative weight. That would explain why stacking multiple makes things faster and also why its fall speed doesn't seem as affected by gravity.
@@TriglycerideBeware It's definitely coded with characteristics that go against "normal" game physics, for sure. It can't be negative weight because they have that programmed for hot air balloons, and rails don't go floating up when you let go of them. They're not weightless, but close to it, and that doesn't make them any more buoyant in water, either (along a similar vein, the highly buoyant yellow items in some shrines are oddly heavy out of water). If they were coded to be affected inversely proportional to air drag (like a sail with its drag value cranked up to 300% effectiveness), then you'd be able to make a perpetual motion aircraft simply by flipping it around, getting a little airspeed, and letting the air flowing over it to basically pull itself through the air. If the rails were coded to be ultra aerodynamic with a fraction of a percent of normal expected drag, then stacking more would naturally increase drag, and having nothing there would still be more advantageous than having a rail of any kind of drag there. What I think is going on is that it does have drag, a whole lot of it, but only if certain conditions are met, such as forced air from a fan for example. The programmers probably added this little feature to aid in the fan elevator's operation, thinking that it wouldn't be possible to remove the rail from the elevator so it would be fine to add that little coding shortcut that defied game physics. When it's moving through the air, it probably has the same drag as anything else of that rough shape and size in the game, it simply has an additional bit of code that tells the game to add a whole lot of extra drag from forced air. Therefore, when you make a plane out of the rails and force air from a fan over them, you inexplicably get a whole lot more effect than had you used a wooden board or something similar in size.
Working on a tips video that explains. When the fan isn't attached to the railings, they don't have opposing forces and the railings pull the fan along.
Nice: Question: Can you land it on a dragon, get the parts you need, and relaunch from on top of the dragon? Since fast travel points are literally in in almost 300 places, being fast is not enough if the vehicle becomes "disposable". I posted a series of tests for flying machines. Try them and see how many tests this build can pass. Again, nice build and video.

should I restart to 1.0.0 so I can get all these glitches? im on 1.1.2 patch and I have like 200 hours into the game, I've completed the whole story except for final boss, have all shrines, and like little more than half of the koroks. tbh the only glitch that I want is to be able to get msgnotfound, im content with tobios hollow chasm for duping. think I should restart?
I wouldn't be shocked if they at least patched out the part where the railings don't despawn when separated in an autobuild. As far as I know, they're the only objects with that property, and I'm imagining it'd be a very simple patch.
Yeah I think that's what will happen. After the patch, the railings won't break off easily and they'll despawn when autobuilt individually. I think that a whole craft made of them will stay together if in autobuild favorites, though.
The biggest factor is to make sure the front fan is disconnected and facing forward and up at a 45 degree angle. It needs be activated separately (apple or weapon swing) from the rest of the plane. The disconnected fan needs to be pointed at the top rim of the railings, that's where all the thrust happens because the middle of the railing is hollow.
The likely reason is that you're going over 40-45 m/s and hitting the speed limit of the control stick. Above this speed, the game kicks you off the control stick and you can't grab it.
Can someone help me make a decision? I’m on 1.2 because I didn’t know about any glitches. Dove deep into the rabbit hole and I’m considering wiping my game to start again on 1.0 (I have the cartridge). I’ve basically killed the Rito boss and unlocked all sky view towers, and wasted a lot of time exploring. Is 1.0 worth for the glitches (do they break the game) or should I just beat the game normal? I just hate grinding for mats 😅
I think the glitches are fun, but eventually we'll need to update for DLC, so it's a toss up for you. If you're excited to try them out, I'd say definitely give it a go since you're not very far into the story.
You could just attach something simple like an apple to it when you're in the depths, and when you go to auto build a single one all you need to do is drop another apple from your pouch and then use auto build again and you can spawn a new one.

Sadly while you can still get railings it seems that you are unable to detach from other components when built in autobuid using zonaite
It still works read my comment
What song did you use to showcase your planes?
Amazing video king! Can you tell me what OST did you use in the video?
SM Galaxy!
Why is the front fan not attached and only wedged? Also, are the multiple railings in front purely for balance?
Working on a tips video that explains. When the fan isn't attached to the railings, they don't have opposing forces and the railings pull the fan along.
They patched it. I can’t separate the saved pieces without them disappearing. So lame
i still have the game on version 1.0, i usually have all my games on 1.0 just in case of exploits and glitches
Can't patch it out if my Switch is not connected to a network 😅
This still works in todays updated version? Cause i tried this and the plane wont fly lol, or maybe i did something wrong
What's the point of having that center fan not connected?
like the bi wings over britain during the war
Nintendo Flight Simulator 2023
the question is where to get this railings?
cant remember after i beat the game
my mission tonight is to make a few new vehicles
you should look into the 2 axis gimbal as well
I tried it out and while it is fast it is very hard to control
WE CALL THEM SAIL RAILS NOW
Nice:
Question: Can you land it on a dragon, get the parts you need, and relaunch from on top of the dragon?
Since fast travel points are literally in in almost 300 places, being fast is not enough if the vehicle becomes "disposable".
I posted a series of tests for flying machines. Try them and see how many tests this build can pass.
Again, nice build and video.
I tried to rebuild but do not worka 😢
For the life of me I could not get these to work
Does the middle fan have to detached from the frame?
Yep, check out my 12 tips video to visualize it, but the fan needs to be loose in order to break Newton's 3rd law and push the railings
I cant get any configuration i try to work it wont even lift 1 m off the ground. i tried the twin torpedo and did everything i could to get it exactly like yours and it wont budge. please help
Working on a tips video, should help you
@@chesepuf Thanks
probably because you didn't free the first fan. happened to me too
should I restart to 1.0.0 so I can get all these glitches? im on 1.1.2 patch and I have like 200 hours into the game, I've completed the whole story except for final boss, have all shrines, and like little more than half of the koroks. tbh the only glitch that I want is to be able to get msgnotfound, im content with tobios hollow chasm for duping. think I should restart?
No I think you're good, you can still do fuse entanglement, q linking, and flame entanglement since you're pre 1.2.0
Why throw the Apple at it to activate the fans when you get on the control stick it automatically turns them on
The railings weigh exactly 2 apples iirc so that's a nifty fact for you.
What’s the name of the song? I can’t remember but it’s familiar lol Nice video btw
They did fix that specifically in 1.2.1
Where do I find it
i only wanted the railing locations so i could make a better hoverbike
Just a suggestion. Try and make the build tutorial part a little more in depth as well as keep the steps in order in one part of the video! Thanks!
Noted! Check out my 12 tips and ziprail video for better build guides
I can’t seem to get this build to get off the ground… any help?
The biggest factor is to make sure the front fan is disconnected and facing forward and up at a 45 degree angle. It needs be activated separately (apple or weapon swing) from the rest of the plane. The disconnected fan needs to be pointed at the top rim of the railings, that's where all the thrust happens because the middle of the railing is hollow.
I'm making a B2 bomber now
Why the floating fan at the front?
So it's working but I'm having this issue where link just lets go of the steering stick for seemingly no reason
The likely reason is that you're going over 40-45 m/s and hitting the speed limit of the control stick. Above this speed, the game kicks you off the control stick and you can't grab it.
@@chesepuf did not know the stick gave a speed limit.
Thank you for the information frien.
So the fan between the railings is NOT attached?
correct, see my most recent video!
So autobuild star pieces and dragon parts have the same properties?
I'm not sure which has a larger despawn radius, but both are really high, so they roughly have the same properties
Is it possible that you can make a tutorial to build some or all of these?
Check out my most recent video!
I managed to do the railing glitch in 1.2.0
So the front middle fan is unattached?
yes
Yep, I'm going to make a tips video with some demonstrations to visualize this
have you tried propellors?
I've played around with it but not gotten a result I liked yet.
I miss the old zelda music 😢
48k views damn need more subs for that many
True that, tell your friends who play!
Self promo 😩
Jk I will.
Will it fly with wooden wheels?
Checking now
so i tried making the twin tornado, and it just wouldnt get off the ground.
Is the front fan disconnected?
Everyone keeps saying you need 2 stabilizers...you don't. One does it fine.
Hey all, I followed the instructions but my plane wont fly at all.. what am I missing?
Detach the middle fan?
0:48 music pls?
best game ever?????
How do you get an individual one in auto build?
You could just attach something simple like an apple to it when you're in the depths, and when you go to auto build a single one all you need to do is drop another apple from your pouch and then use auto build again and you can spawn a new one.
