Ed Norton, the actor who played Bruce Banner in The Incredible Hulk(2008) was DIFFICULT to work with. Disney/Marvel released him and replaced him with Mark Ruffalo. They even redesigned the Hulk to have Mark Ruffalo’s facial features.
Ed Norton wouldn’t listen to the director. He would try to direct the other actors which would cause arguments with the director since he was only hired as an actor. He would try to rewrite parts of the script without consulting with anyone. He wanted to edit the film the way he wanted. When they didn’t let him edit the film, he refused to go on talk shows to promote the film.
Wow...did not know that. I didn't like his version and did not like the fake hulk, too much errors in that.

It doesn't matter HOW many times I've seen the movie, seeing Loki getting ragdolled by the Hulk is always a laugh riot. So is Thor getting punched by the Hulk. lol

Dude, make sure you get both end credit scenes. They usually do one right after the main credits and then at the very end.
Definitely finish the Hobbit movies. They’re good, and underrated in my opinion. Harry Potter was great so definitely also consider doing those.
Always check MCU films for mid AND post credit scenes.
As good a job as Ed Norton did in the first Hulk movie, I'm actually really glad they replaced him for the role.
Edward Norton is a fairly well known actor, and he has a wide range of roles that he takes. There is NO way he would have stuck around, and signed a contract, for multiple films over 6-9 years. It's best the replaced him before things really got off the ground with the series.
Ruffalo's Hulk was a joke... Norton's Hulk was far better

Nooo...you missed the post-credit scene. Marvel have a mid-credit AND a post-credit scene. Something to be aware of for future movies. Maybe do a short reaction to the post-credit for this one ‘cos it’s hilarious.

This was directed by Joss Whedon, creator of the science fiction series, Firefly, and its follow-up movie, Serenity. Both are good. Before that he was the creator of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel.
The reason Thanos was smiling when he said that fighting humans was to court death has to do with the comic books. In the comics Thanos was in love with Lady Death, who is the incarnation of death. So it would be courting Lady Death
This was everyone's favourite when it first came out..crazy to think that it only get so much better after this! 😊
That is just insane that only Avatar ever ranked higher in the box office when this came out. What a huge payoff for Marvel and the MCU. This film was so special and it made possible everything else that came after.

Mark is the worst Hulk,Norton was far better.. mcu has made Ruffalo's Hulk into a joke both of and character wise.
Believe it or not they keep getting better.
the hulk movie from 2003 was made well before marvel studios was formed; it was made around the time the first spider-man, x-men and blade movies were being produced. the rights to those movies were spread all over the place; universal had the rights to hulk, fox had the rights to blade, x-men and the fantastic four, and sony had the rights to spider-man. the MCU kicked off in 2008 with the enormous success of Iron Man, which inevitably led to Disney buying Marvel Studios and regaining the rights to basically all of their properties

When I saw this in the theater and watched the Hulk beat down Loki, I didn't hear Loki's little whine because everyone in the theater was laughing. It wasn't until I bought the DVD that I heard it. 😁
The thing I love is how Tony and cappy America was digging on each other. Then soon as the ish gets real its right back to teamwork. Then later we see that both of their digs was wrong on both sides. Cappy is so much more than what was in the bottle. As well as when all the cards was down Tony would absolutely sacrifice for the greater good. ... You spoke on possibly the hulk and Thor not liking each other. Personally I think it's more of a rivalry thing. Like they ain't got no beef it's more of a top dog thing. Hulk has never met anyone he couldn't easily destroy Thor is an oddity to him. With Thor he's always been top dog. It's a game of who's the strongest averager. Which is typical of top tier dudes. Plus Thor is a viking God so he always welcoms a good fight.

Story time for this one… I was 21 when this came out and visiting my boyfriend in Maryland. We decided to go to the movies and see what was playing and we randomly picked this one, neither of us Marvel fans at all. I remember that opening scene with Loki showing up, I had no idea who he was or who Tom Hiddleston was at the time, and my eyes were SAUCERS. I was like now THAT’S a mfing villain!!! Then the scenes with cap and Natasha come right after and it’s just balls to the wall from there. I left and immediately started everything from the beginning. The obsession’s never let up. I have other favorites, too, one of which I think is next on your list, but this will always, always be a special film in my eyes. And you did it justice. You get it. :-)
This film was a game changer for Marvel. Love it!!!
Having gone through the MCU for the first time myself around this time last year.. Looking at the list of movies is definitely a bit daunting, but once you see what they've done with this movie as far as world building and character building, you practically fly through the rest of the movies LOL.

2003 Hulk isn't canonically tied to the MCU. Iron Man was their first movie to the expanded universe and the start of the "Infinity Saga", which ends with Endgame. 2008 Hulk is part of this universe, though. The end credit scene shows Tony Stark talking to General Ross. So you can ignore 2003 Hulk. But yeah, it is a bummer, because Edward Norton is pretty awesome. Ah well, I'm not really a big Hulk fan anyway. Fun trivia, since you already did Deadpool, the final scene takes place on a Helicarrier like in this movie as a little easter egg.

Hulk (2003, directed by And Lee) is an underrated and somewhat experimental film. It moves slow, delving into his childhood with an abusive father, his experiment that goes wrong and makes him the Hulk, then strangely has him fight three gamma-mutated dogs. The highlight of the film is a long sequence of Hulk fighting the army in the desert. The ending is a dramatic confrontation with his father, who has also mutated himself to become a villain like the absorbing man, which gets into some of the experimental film-making. The Hulk cgi is dated, but it did feature Hulk healing rapidly, rather than just being bullet proof, and he was shown to grow larger as he become more enraged.
It is not an official part of the MCU, but because it came out just five years before The Incredible Hulk, the skimmed over Bruce's origin story with the opening credits and moved into the story quickly, because they felt people at the time just knew who Hulk was.

There is nothing wrong with Hulk (2003), but it is not part of the MCU. It is an origin film and it was actually the highest grossing film of 2003. From what i have read The Incredible Hulk (2008) was originally written as a sequel to the 2003 film and was rewritten to be the 2nd movie in the MCU after Iron Man. They filmed that short sequence at the beginning of the 2008 film to cover the Hulk's origin. You can definitely watch the 2003 film, just keep in mind that any inconsistencies are because it is not part of the MCU.
The other Hulk movie was pre-MCU. Its it's own thing, not worth the watch in my opinion.
This movie is still one of my all time favorites though! Watching them Assemble after getting so much time with them all solo really helped give this movie a different weight.
It's definitely worth the watch,it dives deep into Hulk's Origin.

Agent Hill is from the comic books. Never, ever underestimate her. At one point in the comic books, she outmaneuvered Fury and took over SHIELD.

Natasha's platonic friendships with Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and later Steve Rogers (Captain America) is one of my favorite things in the MCU.
About Ed Norton vs Mark Ruffalo: the honest truth is that Marvel wanted Ruffalo in that role for the first Hulk movie, but Universal was calling the shots or something like that. Marvel just thought he was a better fit for the role regardless of how difficult Norton is or is not.
About Tony Stark: Marvel heroes have flaws. In fact, they are defined by their flaws as much as DC heroes are defined by their virtues. Some of the best, most interesting marvel heroes are the ones that are the most flawed, and are actual jerks. Tony Stark is one of those. Another would be Wolverine from the X-Men. Or Jessica Jones. Or Northstar (the most prominent gay character).
Loki is running in very different circles now.
Natasha's last name should be Romanova. Russian family names have masculine and feminine forms, but by convention, Russian-Americans only use the masculine forms of their last name to avoid confusing the other Americans.
By the way, Banner is wrong about why he can control the transformations. He has multiple personality disorder/dissociative Identity disorder, but has yet to be formally diagnosed. I'm not sure they are ever going to use that plot line.

They didn’t want to bring Edward Norton back because he is extremely difficult to work with. In that Hulk movie you saw prior, Edward had been a nightmare on set and was constantly rewriting the script.

I can definitely see thor becoming your favorite strongly especially in the later films, but Iron Man will always be number 1 in my eyes. But every single character can be argued. Like hawkeye, heavily overhated/underrated. Can’t wait for you to continue the journey.

Hi everyone. Very good video and very good editetd. Keep up with the good work. These days i am writing an Avengers fanfiction and i am from Norway so my english might not be the best, but i try. I am currently struggeling to match my oc Clare with one of the male avengers. She is very kind and do have a tendensy to apologice for some stuff that she doesnt have to apologice for just like Bruce. Her energy levels could be in a high tempo sometimes specially of she gets so bored that she gets restless, or tipsy or start to get a little drunk. She is very shy and in social arrangement like parties or go out on a bar she is very silent because she dont know what to talk about and like to observe and hear what others has to say, and she also doesnt just go to people and say hi and start conversations. She is stubborn and borned in the aries. She is in her thirties but looks like she is twenty five. She is a shield agent and like do background stuff instead of going on missions because of her autism. Her father has taken her to self defence courses before she became an agent. She is such a geek and knows a lot about different subjects so she is handy to have in quiz. Dogs and cats tends to like her and she is fond of cats and dogs. Her sels esteem is some kinda low and she loves to make people smile and them happy and she is bubbeling. She likes to drink and therefore know a lot about wine, beer and so on. She is half Norwegian and half american. She cant handle long distant relationships and she has figured out from she was young that its not her thing. Her powers are within energy and she can also sense how others are feeling or notice it. She can also draw nergy and give energy and also to sense energies that re left still. I also have like a power that he can see ghost and help them go to the next step of crossing owver but that part i am uncertain of. So who would you match her with and why? Thanks for the help everyone and have a happy new year. Im hoping that the new year ahead will give you a lot of joy and your wishes come true. Hugs from a 35 year old woman from Norway.

About Hulk vs Thor: that is play-fighting. Did you notice who the grinning during the fight? Hulk and Thor genuinely love fighting each other because they don't have to hold back. They're like big kids when they get like that.

Ed Norton is a TREMENDOUS actor but is well-known to be a pushy pain in the ass when it comes to his films. He rewrites, meddles, etc. That said, I suggest you watch his first major film, Primal Fear, for which he was nominated for an Oscar. The twist at the end is CHOICE.

The first Hulk movie was with Eric Bana and it was just horrible is the only reason you shouldn’t watch it. The one with Ed Norton is pretty good though.
The one with Ed Norton just covered the origin story of the Hulk in flashbacks in the opening credits. They didn't want to waste half a film just setting up the story again. I respect that decision. Everyone had either seen the Eric Bana movie or the Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno TV series or at least a Saturday morning cartoon and pretty much knew who/what the Hulk was.
