Easy to remember who DIDN'T disappear: All the original Avengers. They all got spared so they can have one more chance to work together as a team!
you could just quote Deadpool here :"Now that´s just lazy writing". Jokes on side. Phases 3/4 were magnificent. Phase 5 is uneven to say at least but its impressive that how long constant quality was able to maintain on this franchise.

The blue guy you recognized was Ronan from Guardians of the Galaxy, who Peter did tried to do the dance off with and the black guy too, he was the one in the beginning of the Guardians movie, who didnt know who Starlord was.. Thanos sent Gamora and Nebula to him to help them.. the Guardians killed him with the power stone

Carol Danvers has been off fighting wars across the galaxy, helping the people she helped screw over--she helped the Kree ruins billions of lives, and she had to go make amends. That's why she's been gone since 1995. Endgame takes place in 2018, by the way.
This movie had the Stan Lee intro because this was Stan Lee's last Marvel movie, well, this was the last one he shot, but End Game, which follows this, has him in it too, but this movie came out first and they wanted to pay tribute to the man who helped create so many wonderful characters that we'll love for generations to come.
Ronan the Accuser, the guy with the hammer, is from Guardians of the Galaxy, that's why he looks familiar. This was him before he went to Thanos. His war was taking too long, so he went to Thanos for help, and it cost him. The Power Stone was his way out from under Thanos' boot or so he thought, anyway.
This movie got review bombed to hell by a lot of haters online, but I enjoyed this movie as much as you did.
And remember the best friend and little girl, for future reference.
That guy Rohnan is the villain in the first guardians movie but he was working for Thanos

The Kree guy with the painted face is Ronan from Guardians of the Galaxy.
Ronan the accuser was the main villain from guardians vol.1 and Carol Danvers sound familiar because of kara danvers supergirl names sound similar. Carol's punches are equal to 10 nuclear but you will never see that because if she fights on a planet she would instantly vaporize that planet and if you're wondering how she's that powerful because her power come from a infinity stone which we have seen in guardians vol.1 wipe out a planet. Also she can any type of energy like she was absorbing energy from the ship to break the inhibitor disc.

Mar-Vell and the Supreme Intelligence are two different things, even though they look the same. The Supreme Intelligence takes the form of someone you know / respect / trust, which is why it looked like Mar-Vell

21 movies, countless villains, suit upgrades and special powers. Stories that span across our entire universe, different worlds, realms and planets. All leading to the culmination we all waited to hear one word.

Actually the Tesseract didn't start with Captain Marvel- remember at the end of the first Captain America movie, the Tesseract fell into the arctic ocean and was retrieved by Howard Stark. So it was in SHIELD custody and that's how Mar-Vell got access to it, when she was put in charge of Project Pegasus.
By the way, in the comics the name Captain "Marvel" came from humans on Earth not pronouncing "Mar-Vell" correctly.
Carol didn’t come back to Earth because she 1st found a safe home for the Skrulls, then she fulfilled her promise to end the wars of conquest the Kree were waging. She ended the Supreme Intelligence. We know she was successful because in Guardians of the Galaxy the Kree had signed peace treaties with Nova and other planets much to the disgust of Ronin. There was no mention of the Supreme Intelligence and the Kree now had an Emperor. Hence the events of GOTG. After that Carol went off helping others around the Universe in penance for her actions when brainwashed by the Kree knowing Fury would call for her if he needed her. The biggest question should be “why didn’t Fury use the pager during the events of the original Avengers movie?” 🤔

Love your enthusiasm. I wish you could time travel back to when the movie came out because practically none of my MCU friends wanted to give her the time of day and the movie received so much hate and trolls for nothing. I've been a fan since her character made an appearance in the original X-Men cartoon back in the 90s. This movie is one of my personal favorites even if it's not one of the strongest entries
I also like it and is one of my favorites. It's not that bad and it has a good story. It's also nice to see an OP superhero after all the realistic flaws of the others.

The moniker of Captain Marvel, in the comics, has been worn by a few different people. Carol Danvers is probably the most recognized version of Captain Marvel. Her character itself has undergone many changes in the comics and the version they chose for the MCU films is her at one of her stronger periods.... but not her most powerful... if that cam be believed. The list of her abilities at the absolute HEIGHT of her powers (under the name 'Binary') in the comics, is bordering on ludicrous.
We have seen other heroes, like Wanda, grow in power over the films to more properly reflect their full power from the comics, so whether MCU will push her character that far is up to Kevin Feige at this point.... either way, she is easily on the level of characters like Thor and Hulk as we just saw in this film, flying directly through alien spacecrafts to destroy them.
I don't know why some folks bash this movie, I really enjoyed it. 🌻✌️🌻

Bad timing of release. It and ant man dropped after one of next super hero movies ever
I really like this movie. However ... Captain Marvel is too powerful. The final fights didn't actually have much tension because the viewer never really felt like Carol could fail.
I just think as a lead character, she's boring.
This film is lucky it had the supporting cast it had.

This is the first Marvel movie that released to theaters after Stan Lee passed away so they redid the intro for him. He has a cameo in this and also in End Game and I think that's it. I can't remember if he has one in FFH.
Edit: I looked it up and End Game has his last cameo.

Stan Lee died shortly before this movie, however he still managed to film the cameos for this and Endgame before it happened

Agent Phil Coulsen actually was saved after avengers by using kree Dna as well as some pretty other crazy things and code named TAHITI. Once revived Fury put Coulsen in charge of a kick ass team from shield and other places. The TV show ran for seven or eight seasons and ran along side the movies timeline wise. So alot of things in the movies that don't make sense are examined by watching that show. Like in avengers age of ultron it starts with the avengers already at the strucker castle launching an assault to get lokis scepter and we first see Wanda and her brother. The reason they end up there is because Phil Coulsen finds out about the scepters location in Agents of Shield and tells Fury allowing the Avengers to go there and get it. Fury never told anyone Phil was still alive and yet he makes several appearances in the show as well as maria hill and other characters from the movies
The Agents of Shield show, while IMO extremely awesome, is also non-canon. It isn't part of the MCU. In the MCU, Phil Son of Coul is dead. Maybe some future MCU story will do something to bring in AoS (um, multiverse much?) but at the moment, Agents of Shield is not part of the MCU.
But please, Major, after you finish the Marvel movies, please consider picking up the Agents of Shield series and reacting to it. I think you will absolutely love it.

@@dondumitru7093 I'll believe that the show, which had several crossovers from the films and was literally marketed as #ItsAllConnected by Feige himself, isn't canon to the MCU when they actually confirm it.
@@dondumitru7093 I'm sorry but as an avid watcher who has seen each season no less than 20 times I can tell you the show and the movies are directly linked, even when in winter soldier shield is taken down by hydra the show follows right along side and the team get caught up in the after math of captain America escaping from sheild headquarters the Triskelion. Also thors friend lady sif comes to earth in search of an escaped god from asgard and gets help to recapture her. Also coulsen spends all of season 2 trying to work out how he was saved after new York. Honestly I could go on

The content of the show is influenced by content in the movies, but there are zero cases where it goes the other way. And the event at the end of Infinity War is completely missing from AoS, which means that AoS exists in an alternate universe from the universe of the MCU.
Maybe some future MCU story will bring it back together.

It's not my favorite Marvel movie, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It got a lot of hate for being "too woke", but I've only ever heard that complaint from white men, so I think it's more that Captain Marvel is one of the few movies where the main protagonists are not white men and when you live in privilege, equality feels like oppression.
I definitely didn't think it was "took woke". That didn't even cross my mind...weird. I mean, it is not my favorite. It was good, but underwhelming for me. There was some good stuff, though, and as a 90s kid, the references were great.

It doesn't all start here, it starts with Captain America, which predates this movie from the 1940s, and Captain Marvel was in the 1970's. Captain America is the 1st Avenger, don't get it twisted !!!😊

Denver is a human her prof is captain mar-vel who taught her to flight jet., shes half human half kree, while captain america is the first avenger on earth
She isn't half Kree, she is 100% human. She got a transfusion of Kree blood after they kidnapped her and erased her memories.
You may have already found this out, but Ronan was the villain in the first Guardians movie. That's where you first saw him. He was supposed to have a couple more scenes in this one but they were cut.

This film is far better than I expected. Not best Marvel films but definately not worst or even among worst. Since Captain Marvel is one the strongest characters in Marvel, including her was really well done. You just don´t want character walk on big baddy and one punch baddie into atoms. So how they include her not destroying excitment and thrill was really well done. Most of the bad reputation this film got was perhaps some fans didn't like Brie Larson´s attitude towards franchise. They considered Larson to be condesending in interviews towards other characters and rest of the franchise.

There is a very long explanation behind the origin of this character.
"Captain Marvel" was the original name of the DC hero we now call "Shazam."
The original Captain Marvel started with a different publisher, who got sued by DC because they thought Captain Marvel was too much like Superman. That publisher went out of business as a result of the lawsuit, and DC got the rights to the character.
At some point, DC failed to publish a Captain Marvel comic book at the appropriate time, so there was an opportunity for Marvel to steal the copyright for the name if they published a Captain Marvel comic book.
Since the original Captain Marvel comic was thrown together quickly to steal the copyright, no one actually liked the comic book. It didn't sell, but Marvel had to keep publishing the comic book in order to keep the copyright. The original Captain Marvel was a Kree named Mar-Vell (who became an older female in the movie version). Mar-Vell had a human girlfriend named Carol Danvers, who became his superhero sidekick Ms Marvel.
For a time, "Captain Marvel" became a title passed to character after character. Marvel was desperate to find a version of the character that was actually popular with fans. There were something like 6 characters who held the title until someone figured out that the girlfriend/former sidekick of the original Captain Marvel was the only character from this story that was actually popular.
Carol Danvers was part of a story in which she was forced to marry someone through mind control. The male writer of X-Men (Chris Claremont) was enraged about this story because it was basically rape, and none of the superheroes made a big deal about it. So he managed to get the Ms. Marvel character transferred to his X-Men comic book. During that time, he gave her a memory wipe in order to retcon the forced marriage story. He also gave her a significant power upgrade so that writers would think twice before doing anything like the forced marriage story again.
Eventually, they needed to start publishing Captain Marvel again. Since Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel was now more powerful than the original Captain Marvel, they promoted her from Ms. Marvel to Captain Marvel, the story was reworked to be a female empowerment fantasy, and the comic book started selling well.
Eventually, the Ms. Marvel title was passed to Kamala Khan, who you will meet in a future TV show.

This is one Marvel movie I wish I hadn't known the comics backstory. It looks a lot more fun when you don't know much about Carol/Vers. But I do love the Carol/Fury friendship. He is closer to her than any Avenger in the movies. (Except maybe Natasha. But Nat is a subordinate where Carol and Fury are buddies.)

Yeah they started messing up with continuity here by going back in time with unplanned projects. I enjoyed the movie, but especially in 3D more.

What you saw earlier was the Kree Supreme Intelligence who takes the form of someone you know when it talks to you in your head.
The inside of a flerken is full of tentacles, teeth, and universes. It is part of a very complicated digestive system.

She is the strongest Avenger, her power is up there with Oden. You noticed she was drilling Thanos by herself. Thanos had no problem with Thor, Hulk and Loki. Scarlet Witch is a close second.

This a good backstory movie. We get to meet Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel in this movie. And we get to see her connection to Nick Fury. Anytime we see Nick Fury and Phil Coulson is always great.
And we see that this was where Fury got the idea for the "Avengers Initiative". And this is where we learn how Fury lost his eye.
The mid-credit scene does a good job setting up "Avengers: Endgame".
Up next: One of the ones that I've been looking forward to, "Avengers: Endgame".

Also, I'm pretty sure Captain Marvel and Scarlet Witch are supposed to be the top strongest avengers.. unless I'm trippin, I remember seeing an interview that Feige did where he was answering that question.

In the MCU, characters whose powers/origins are linked to Infinity stones tend to be extremely powerful- Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, Dr Strange and Vision.

Wandas powers don't come from the stone.
@@natsohigh5552 Wanda's powers didn't completely originate from the stone (which was thought to be the case from Age of Ultron up through Endgame).
WandaVision revealed that Wanda's latent power had been amplified by the mind stone. The backstory of how she and her brother survived the bomb was a retcon, showing that as a child she had abilities even though she didn't know it.
That link between her powers and the mind stone is the only reason she was able to destroy it, as explained in Infinity War.
@@natsohigh5552 not all of Vision's powers came from an infinity stone either, or Dr Strange. But like Wanda and Captain Marvel, the stone either played a big role in them gaining powers or was something they were able to tap.
My point was that the heroes for whom infinity stones play a major role in them gaining or increasing their powers are among the most powerful characters in the MCU.

I dunno man... all the good movies have the heroes grow. Iron Man became less selfish, Cap sacrificed himself and his chance for happiness with Peggy to save his country... Captain Marvel... Um... got reminded she was super strong and could like totally kill the arrogant men? She never in the entire movie had a shred of humility, humbleness, reflection... she just decided to fight harder. As a hero movie, this was just a little more compelling than a Power Ranger episode where they somehow forget until the last 5 minutes that they can combine for megazord power.
Thanos was probably wary of arracking Asgard while Odin was still around (remember in the first Thor movie, Odin was far more powerful than his son and easily stripped him of his powers). But Thanos wouldn't have been too concerned about the Ancient One on Earth. Even Ebony Maw (as Tony called him "Squidward), could probably defeat her fairly easily, just like he defeated Dr Strange.
The Ancient One had been defeating beings 100x more worse than Maw for thousands of years 😂

Strange got beat because he's too cocky and thinks he's better than he actually is.
@@natsohigh5552 the Ancient One hadn't beaten anything 100X worse than Maw, that we know of, and she'd never encountered him. Yeah he was a telekinetic but as he told Strange, the powers of the sorcerer supreme were inconsequential compared to his own, and that didn't appear to be an empty boast.
Let's not forget the Ancient One was killed by Kacellius and a few acolytes.
