this is literally the worst mcu movie in my opinion! So, if you can appreciate this movie, you about to be happy with this next set of movies
In Norse mythology Sif was Thor's wife, although she had golden hair, not black. She is one of the things that Marvel changed in the comics.
That and Thor being a ginger in mythology, lol.
Thor also married the Valkyrie named Brunnhilde.
I am irritated that they still haven't given Valkyrie a name yet. She's been around long enough to give her one.
I also didn't like that she was not Brunnhilde and that the Russo brothers just threw away their flirty chemistry that Waititi perfectly set up for them to get together, later.
I didn't see much chemistry between he and Jane.
@@blackkatt777 Not arguing against your points, but we are talking the actual Norse/Germanic mythology. Brunnhilde (Brunhild) in that is linked to Sigurd.
Getting back to the original topic, another funny departure is that of Heimdall, who in mythology was described as having golden teeth and as the "whitest of the gods"...something that blew the mind of my nephew, lol.
@@blackkatt777 According to the MCU Wiki, her name is King Brunnhilde once she becomes king, but they never call her that in the films. It's also implied in Thor love and thunder that she had a girlfriend that died in battle so I don't think MCU would have ever put her and Thor together. I do agree though that Thor and Jane had 0 chemistry
I’m a huge fan of how mad you got about Frigga’s death. I don’t blame them so much, but I was surprisingly upset, too. She is such a good side character and her conversations with Thor and Loki always cut to the core of who they are. She sees thru them. Her death, while it seemed somewhat minor at the time this released, was pretty important and really sets the trajectory for important developments in Loki and Thor’s storylines. That was a shitty loss. But it shifted their relationship as you can see in this film. Best choice they made in this script, imo.
Major is a Sweet Summer Child. Any death (of non bad guys) will upset him.
Now I feeling protective of him…
Loki….this performance is my favorite from him. Tom Hiddleston absolutely made Loki real…..❤️🎥❤️

YES ANOTHER LOKI CONVERT. He was my OG favorite. The sympathetic antihero type is my shiiiiiit. He’s just such a unique and interesting character.
Also the next movie up is largely considered one of the best things marvel’s ever made. That’s not overselling it one bit. Shit’s about to get wild, I can’t wait. The next best thing to getting your memory erased to watch these again is to watch someone genuine, observant and enthusiastic- like you!- react to them for the first time. ❤️❤️
The scene when Loki creates the illusion appearing as Captain America was actually inspired from a moment when he was goofing off on set. Apparently, they were all waiting for Chris Evans to get to the set for his cameo. And they decided to make that the scene in the film.

Loki is definitely the best thing about this movie. Absolutely love Tom Hiddleston's performance as Loki. Especially during the scene when he and Thor are escaping the palace, and he changes disguises. The Captain America disguise was the best!

22:49 I feel so bad. He’s spent his life felling like he doesn’t matter, and nothing he does matters. it does, actions have consequences. I just know Loki regretted telling the dark elves where to go (during the prison break) in a way he helped get his mom killed. Very sad

You are the first reactor to this movie I've seen catch it IMMEDIATELY that it was Loki telling Odin they "found a body". ;) Not sure if you noticed though... but Odin's "Loki" - was NOT his asking whose body it was. It was RECOGNITION. He said, "Loki," because he KNOWS Loki and despite the disguise, he knew it was him. That little "joker smile" as you put it was Loki basically being like, "Yeah, you got me."
Renee Russo was so good in this roll. Frigga was underutilized
Yes she is. She taught Loki magic which is his primary tool.
Also if you look at their fighting styles, she taught him that as well. Loki more than Thor is a momma’s boy.
Loki is my favorite MCU character. I love him! I'm sure Tom Hiddleston's fantastic acting job as Loki has a lot to do with it. I haven't watched all of the MCU movies, but I'll watch anything with Loki in it.

The invisible ships thing always bugged me. Thor is the God of THUNDER, he could have summoned a storm, the rain would have exposed anything invisible.

@6:16, for a long time Mjolnir was considered the one of the most powerful if not most powerful weapon in the Marvel Universe.
Then there are the Infinity Stones mentioned in the after credits scene.
The Ultimate Nullifier which will probably be introduced in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie is even more powerful in the right hands…or is it wrong hands 🤔
Darcy is awesome. You will see more of her in the Wandavision TV show. You will see more of Loki in the Loki TV show.
The thing that makes Loki compelling is that you always cheer for him to do the right thing even though you know he will disappoint you most of the time.
In Falcon and the Winter Soldier, you will meet an alternate version of Captain America who gives off the same vibe. You keep hoping he will do the right thing even though deep down, you know he's going to disappoint you most of the time. He is exactly the sort of person general Phillips wanted to give the serum to in the first Captain America movie.
Once you get through the MCU movies, the Loki tv series on Disney + is really good!
In the original Norse mythology, Thor was indeed married to Sif.
That whole scene at 19:00 where Frigga made an illusionary duplicate of Jane Foster... notice how Loki also uses that as his signature trick? He learned it from his mother. Tragic to see her die, but remember, she does have one day of the week named after her. Thursday = Thor's day; Friday = Frigga's day.
I bet Chris Evans had a blast doing a cameo in this movie as Loki as Captain America.
@18:44, check out the Lethal Weapon movies from the 1990’s. Rene Russo plays a supporting character who is a cop on the LAPD. The character was bad a$$ martial artist then and Rene did a lot of her own stunts.
It was great to see them have her whip some butt in the Thor movies.

You made a comment somewhere around the lines of "8 minutes is a long time to fight." One of Thor's abilities is a type of super-stamina; in the comics, Thor has the ability to fight wars for several years without stopping to take a break or even eat; he had to be weakened down for the MCU though. In the comics, his power level would be somewhat similar to superman's.
I think Frigga is Loki's fault because he sent that thing into the back secret way to get up to the chamber where he snuck up behind her and caught her off guard.
I don't blame Odin because he knew his wife could handle her own, plus there were supposed to be guards protecting her. Whomever trains his army has done a piss poor job of it. They were horrible.
Thor was trying to contain the worst of the criminals that would probably help slaughter more of his people.
Btw, I'd like to understand how a skilled witch like Frigga, who taught Loki magic, couldn't find a way to get out of that beast's hold and then reappear behind him with a shank to the back of the neck.
I think that self projection thing is only a Loki thing.

Major, a movie you might enjoy is "Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai". It is a little known film that I think needs more attention and I think your channel is perfect for spotlighting this deserving film.

@17:55, you are right it must have been crazy back in the day to come at another person with such weapons. Somebody was definitely going to win while the other guy was gonna lose.
If you ever get the chance check out the tv series Forged in Fire. Modern day blacksmiths from across America compete in timed tournaments to recreate classic swords, axes and other edged weapons.
When you see what these ancient weapons can do to a side of beef or a dressed out deer, your jaw will drop. Our modern movies have to greatly sanitize the results of this type of combat and rightly so 🤢🤮

Re: rankings, don’t even sweat it with getting pinned down to a score. It’s all arbitrary. It’s normal for ones opinions of any films to wax and/or wane over time, to some degree. Scores can change, along with the rules for your channel at will, as is your prerogative. A 5 star system gets around people parsing the scale of 1-10. Thor 2 gets 3.75 stars from me, today. This react, 5 out of 5 stars.
