- This lesson fosters an appreciation for breathing, and guides you through a series of gentle mini-exercises aimed at enhancing awareness of upper chest breathing mechanics. The session begins lying on the back to observe natural breathing and gradually transitions into focused movements to direct air into the upper chest area. We focus on small, mindful adjustments, such as shifting head position, arm and leg placement, and rolling the pelvis for creating a twist in the chest, all to explore how posture affects breath expansion.
You are encouraged to sense the interplay between muscle tension and relaxation, experiment with asymmetrical positions, and feel how your ribs expand like a fan. The lesson highlights the role of the chest, ribs, and diaphragm in directing airflow, promoting both control and freedom in breathing. We conclude by transitioning to standing, allowing you to integrate the new awareness into upright posture.
