    Growing up in an Asian household, we always made fried rice out of whatever was leftover from the week- be it chicken, hot dogs or bologna. As an adult I do the same! Sometimes, when I don't have the typical seasonings, I'll experiment with what I have and I'm never disappointed!

    Cooked rice and it's in the refrigerator 😋 I thank you for the class you give it's blessed us in many ways. We have one restaurant open now it's Asian. I wish I understood why we're losing so many places to get out for a month eating. But look with this class I'll enjoy tell they open again for a outing. Thank you all for your time and class.

    Flo has such a sweet smile it makes me smile too.
    With vegetables being so expensive, I’ve found fresh carrots and frozen peas are finding their way into my fried rice more often. Also, jar of garlic and ginger in my fridge has been cheaper than fresh.

Looking forward to binging through your channel, and trying many of these recipes out.

    I bought myself a carbon steel wok and all the tools as a birthday present to myself, as well as your cookbook! It seasoned up wonderfully and is already doing a great job of cooking w/o hardly anything sticking. Some hot water and a stiff brush breaking away any bits, a rinse/dry/seasoning oil with some heat at the end and GTG! I've already made a couple of batches of fried rice over the weekend. Today, probably some beef with broccoli!!
    Thank you, Flo/Dude, for these videos. They are much appreciated. God bless you both.

    Whenever I start wishing we could blow the budget and eat at our favorite Chinese-American restaurant I know it is time to make fried rice. That will usually take care of the craving. Sometimes instead of the soy sauce I use kecap manis instead to give it a little sweet kick. Thank you for the inspiration as always Flo and Dude!

    If you freeze your rice before you incorporate it in your stir-fry it will make the grains stay individual and keep them from clumping.

      You probably have to cook it at high heat

    • @FloLum
      @FloLum  Рік тому +1

      @jonesbub1 Thanks, Sharon… it’s possible your rice might be too soggy to begin with, maybe adding to much water when cooking it. Also, try to flatten the rice and let it heat through before stirring it around. Hope that helps.

    • @benthere8051
      @benthere8051 Рік тому +3

      Freeze your rice, then thaw it before making stir-fried rice. I guarantee the grains will not clump. i learned this by accident when I incorporated a batch of rice that I had frozen into my fried rice. The grains of rice stayed individual and did not make a mushy clump.

    Looks good, but it needs more broccoli. I like broccoli stir-fried or steamed soft, not mushy or crunchy.
    I'll use a large rotisserie chicken and get more bang for the buck. Half of it can be used for chicken salad and ramen noodle soup.
    Sounds like your mother is using spoiled chicken. Fresh chicken doesn't smell.
