Thanks so much for sharing your techniques and recipes! I had a wok years ago but, sadly, I don't remember what happened to it in the crazy that has been my life over the last 30 years or so. I got a cast iron skillet finally, but I miss the wok, because of the ease of combining the ingredients in the end, so I'm gonna have to find one again, because I'm getting to old to handle the weight of the cast iron, and too tired of doing so many dishes in the clean up afterwards. You are both adorable! Thanks for sharing your home with us all! Blessings!
One of the things about asian cooking is the ability to feed a crowd and not spend a lot of money and yet the food ends up being a healthy fare. How amazing is that.
Love your dishes. They are so simple. Doesn’t take too much time. I am 75 years old and it’s very quick for me as I am old and live alone. and have a very bad back pain so can’t stay standing long. Please give us more simple dishes. Thank you both and stay blessed always
That chicken dish looks so delicious and your family must love it so much too. You are a great chef and your family is so fortunate to have someone with cooking skills like you have, Flo.
Hi Flo, thanks so much for this lovely recipe. It looks very doable, and will be done in my kitchen this week. Always looking for dinner ideas, and you are one of my "go to" people. Cheers!!
This is my 3rd video I've watched in two days. I've saved the hk style beef curry and I subscribed. I've gotten really into cooking Asian dishes in the past two years. There is a simplicity to them that I love. Most of the cooking ingredients I can use over and over again (no buy something for one dish and never use it again). I love that is just meat, vegetables, and some flavoring but with different combinations and techniques, I can get so many different delicious flavors!! And I love that there is barely ever any milk products used (I'm American and I swear that 90% of food eaten here has milk products in it with a heavy emphasis on CHEESE). I've gotten so much inspiration and knowledge from youtubers and I'm so excited to "discover" you guys!!
Flo your cooking dishes seems so simple and i think they are sooh delicious . You dont put a lot of soy sauce. Simple ingredients. Thank you. Trini from California.
Hi Flo & Dude, My husband is 1st generation Chinese born and raised in San Francisco. I'm 100% Puerto Rican born on the island but raised in the U.S. My husband stumbled upon your channel and asked me to make this dish. I did and it was a success. He said, "Excellent!". Your video was easy to follow. Hubby wants me to add tofu next time; have you ever added tofu? I'm looking forward to trying your Stir Fry Beef with Tomato, Steamed Pork Patty, and of course, Garlic Noodles!! Thanks for this wonderful channel.
After watching this video I had to run out and buy ingredients to make this meal tonight, it was fantastic only modification I did was I added some bean sprouts let them cook a little bit, a side of rice perfect meal.
Thanks for making it so simple and pleasant. When you smile and explain, I am back as a child next to my Nana at the stove. Your relaxed substitution options make it a go to.
Ma'am your channel is my favorite cooking channel, your meals are very handy for one person, because of you I now have a nice collection of recipes that I use a lot, you've made quite a difference in my life and kitchen,God bless you and Dude for this channel !!
Dear Flo, I’ve now made five or six of your recipes, and they were all really good. This one, however, takes First Prize! I followed your every move and the end-product paired perfectly with white Korean GABA rice cooked in my Cuckoo! Absolutely the best comfort food I’ve ever eaten - and my wife agrees. We were both making nummy grunting noises while repeatedly saying “best dinner ever.” Dude is a lucky scoundrel and I hope he knows it! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I am so glad to have stumbled upon you and your kitchen, but mostly I’m so glad that your mum was your mom and not mine ha. She sounds tough. I’m loving your no nonsense approach to life 🥰
Hi Flo -- Nice recipe. I also typically put onions and mushrooms in at the same time, but I always place the _onions down first_ so that less of the oil is immediately absorbed by the mush. (BTW, I also really appreciate the 'chapter' sections in your videos now.)
I made this again tonight. That’s the second time this week. Mainly because I had all these spring onions and a whole lot of mushrooms left over from the other night. I’m enjoying your “UA-cam “ classes 😊
Dear Flo: Home Run #6!!! With the exception of using Shaoxing wine to deglaze the IP and some Sichuan pepper, I followed your recipe to a T, and all I can tell you is that my wife is very grateful to you and your Grandma as am I. Incredible comfort food and best chicken ever! I’m going to go find you on Patreon!
This was amazing!!! My son "hates" mushroom. I told him he had to try this. He "unhates" mushrooms "but just for this dish"!! 😂Aka he loves this dish. I will probably add zucchini/yellow squash to saute then mushrooms. This dish is diffinately better than take-out!! Thank you!!
Hi Flo, my goodness your chicken is incredibly expensive in Canada, here in the UK we get fresh chicken thighs (bone in) for around $4.50 Canadian per kg, however, food prices are rocketing over here thanks to the issues over the last year and a half. Hope you Guys are keeping well, another super recipe today, Thanks Mom!!
Nice! I make a similar dish with the pressure cooker. I guess the only difference is the type of veg but you end up with shredded chicken in the end and it probably takes longer to cook. I'll try it your way next time. Thanks.
Looks delicious. I want to make me some. I’m waiting for my appliances to be delivered. Can’t wait to make this . But I want to put in bean sprouts, carrots, and water chestnuts. Ohhh yeah.
Oh my Flo I have to invest in these sauces. You make me want to create. It’s the cooking shows that have me captivated during lockdown but it was all fatty foods, well no more now that I’ve found you. I thank you.
Adoro la cucina cinese, e mi piace molto prepararla a casa per la mia famiglia. Ti ho scoperta da poco e mi piace come spieghi le tue ricette. Saluti da Milano Italia.
My husband has introduced me to your UA-cam channel. For dinner tonight I made this dish. It was so tasty. I am not a fan of ginger and the thought of fish sauce didn’t appeal to me. I was wrong. All of the ingredients fuse together so well. I am not a good cook, but with your recipes, there is hope for me. I also tried your garlic butter noodles. Those were delicious! I see you have a few recipes for peanut butter chicken. I will have to try it. Many thanks to you and dude for sharing.
Hi there Flo and Dude, I am greeting you here officially! I love watching your cooking blogs and have cooked after your recipes. Thank you. May I share a remembrance with you? This special chicken recipe reminds me of a similar recipe of my grandma's, which was indeed special because it was cooked on the day before Chinese New Year and offered on a big table with many other delicacies for the ancestors. Similar but different in which the chicken pieces are fried in sesame oil with ginger and cooked in sauces of soy and oyster with shitake mushrooms. So this has evolved the nostalgic in me. I repeatedly cook the same to celebrate chinese new year.
I know it’s not exactly the same,But this is similar to the chicken and mushrooms dish I love from my fave Chinese restaurant! so I really want to try this! Thanks!
Hi Flu, I love your Chinese simple cooking it is always delicious. Last Saturday I made your Hainan chicken so yummy, much much better than eating out which is so expensive also . Thank you so much . Take care ❤😁
I’m paying $.64 a pound for chicken quarters here in Deep South, and, I typically poach in Instant Pot, and get 3-4 quarts good gelatinous broth, 6.5 to 7 pounds picked meat, and 1/2 cup chicken butter for each 10 pounds of raw chicken. I think my ratio is $.74 a pound on the meat, but that doesn’t count the broth & fat. Eggs cooked in chicken fat r so good!
I love you guys, watching often. But I'm not able to get all the ingredients at this time. I'm saving the videos to try as soon as I can.. thank you for sharing.
Your Mom sounds like my mother in law 😃😃 about the restaurant comment 💜the Portuguese community does the same as yours marinated the meats first 👍delicious 👍👍👍
$16 for 8 untrimmed thighs? You MUST be kidding me! I'm on the east coast of the US, and though things have gone up slightly, and I've noticed shortages here and there, we haven't hit anything nearly THAT astronomical -- YET! Cheers, Flo & Family, and thanks for still bringing us our weekly dose of your friendly, generous spirit!
You know why you don't see whole chicken breast cause it Not that hard to debunked. I 'll Will by whole chicken do it my self. Love this recipe going to make.
Love quick and simple meals that are nostalgic and bring back the warm fuzzies! Happy Sunday! 💕
It's so easy to cook delicious food at home.... You just need a basic pantry.

Looks so simple. I like recipes that are simple and don't have a long list of ingredients. Yum!

I made this exactly following your recipe. It’s fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

Yummy! This looks so good!!! I love a saucy dish and usually make extra sauce to flavor the rice!
I love your frugal thinking! Seems like almost art.
I am so glad to have stumbled upon you and your kitchen, but mostly I’m so glad that your mum was your mom and not mine ha. She sounds tough. I’m loving your no nonsense approach to life 🥰
