Never seen Bohemian Rhapsody. But that set you have is almost as flamboyant as Queen, particularly Freddie.
That's exactly what I thought when I got it in my hands. It screams Freddie Mercury
I always remember this film for having absolutely atrocious editing yet winning an academy award for it.
I didn't have too many issues when it came to it's editing. I didn't realise it actually won an Oscar for it though
Hey Keith. In the film Ray Foster played by Mike Myers says, "Bohemian Rhapsody will not be a song teenagers will crank up and bang their heads to." Ironically, this is precisely what Mike Myers did in Wayne's World.
It's great the way it's done because in the movie he resents Bohemian Rhapsody. But in Wayne's World it is something very different altogether. I think it was purposely done that way
Amazing movie. Probably favourite autobiography next to Elvis.
Elvis was another great movie. Took a bit of time to get going but when it did I really enjoyed it
Easily the best front man a band ever had! It still pains me to this day that I had a ticket to Slane to Queen in 86 and my job wouldn't give me the day off! I did shed a tear when Freddie passed. Keith there is a 4k out of Queen live from Montreal which I'd highly recommend too . Its really worth having. It has the Live Aid footage too. And as you say the film is really enjoyable. Hey Alan. A friend of the family was in the exact same situation as yourself. He had a ticket for Slane but apparently it was on the same day as a family members wedding. I am aware of the 4K release of Montreal but I still haven't gotten around to picking it up. I heard it's absolutely fantastic. I'm sure I will get it sometime hopefully in the near future. It's a beautiful looking 4K transfer no question about it but I'm sure the Blu-ray is no slouch either. I am a huge fan of Queen and it's great to actually own such a rare edition for Bohemian Rhapsody. Another welcome entry into my ever growing collection. Hey Keith, really like that addition, I’m gonna see if I can find that for myself and believe it or not. I haven’t seen it yet. We were going to go see it at the theater and it just didn’t happen and I’ve been meaning to pick it up but I haven’t yet maybe it’s a good thing I haven’t.
Always been a huge queen fan probably since seeing Flash Gordon in the theater and another one bites the dust is the adopted theme song for hopefully soon to be Super Bowl champion Detroit Lions fingers crossed on that one 🙂 I can remember clearly, when live aid was going on, I was working and it was simulcast on the radio. I listen to the whole thing and several times I stopped in and caught bits and pieces of it on the television, and after work, I caught the rest of it, that was probably the biggest live televised concert event by far I’ve ever experienced something that I’ll never forget. so I’m definitely looking forward to watching this. I didn’t forget about it but thanks for reminding me as I truly need to see this and I’m sure I’m gonna love it. Have a great one.👍
I was only 5 years old when Live Aid came out and I am not kidding John I remember every single second of that day. I remember taking a break for 5 minutes and going outside my front door and all you could hear was music coming out of every single house on the street. It was such a surreal moment and I don't think I'll ever relive something like that again. I think it's the greatest concert the world has ever seen and every now and again I like to crack open a few drinks and knock it on and enjoy the night. You don't see concerts like that anymore. As a matter of fact You don't see Talent like that anymore. I really think you'll get a lot from the movie as well. They cover quite a bit of History and it finishes with Live Aid.

The one that I have is very rare. Your best bet would be eBay. Just be patient Arthur. Don't overspend on it
Very nice edition Keith, still haven't seen this film yet. I did buy Rock Montreal in 4k and WOW does that look and sound good. The full frame 4:3 version with HDR looks stunning. Take care. Gaz.
Fair play to you for stopping by Gary because I completely forgot about the 4K release of Rock Montreal. I really need to add that to my basket and finally pick it up.
@@millerman9991 Yeah you must. There's good and bad with it though. The packaging is not good at all (best of luck finding an undamaged one) but the discs give you every option you can think of. I was lucky, mine was completely undamaged but I have seen reviewers showing off their less than perfect purchases.
@garytilford6503 I will pick it up from HD movie source because they always check over everything before sending it out. So I should be okay getting an undamaged one
@@millerman9991 Speaking of which, my 4k of Dark Angel turned up today, case cracked and broken top back ( you can see it on pictures I have posted) with small bits of plastic rattling inside. I know you get yours from HD movie source but I pay about £20 less with wow and tbh it's the first time it's happened. Now I need to find a replacement 11mm 2 disc 4k case, not sending back for replacement, too much hassle and takes too long. Anyway gonna get ready for the footy. Catch you later. Gaz. Oh, and preordered The Hitcher 4k.
@garytilford6503 sorry to hear that that happened to your dark angel release. Hopefully you'll have no trouble finding a replacement case. I wouldn't blame you for not returning it. As I’ve told you recently,I have a real problem with biopics. It’s only in the last few years I’ve brought myself to watch this and rocket man. I’ve seen boh rhap on blu ray,but not 4K yet. I’ll have to rectify that soon. I’m on my second copy,I bought a copy cheap from a pawn shop,traded it in then found a load of 4K’s in a charity shop for £2 each,which I bought most of then (traded a few in) and boh rhap was in there so it’s back in the collection. With rocket man 4K.
I actually have a beautiful edition for the Rocket Man. It's actually very similar to the one that I showed off in this video. I'm hoping to put a video together sometime in the near future for it. I really enjoy both movies. If I had to pick between the two I would probably go for this one but take nothing away from the Rocket Man. I was pleasantly surprised by it. Bohemian Rhapsody really does look amazing on 4K and I think you'll be impressed when you do see it
Hey Keith, I'm late to this vid, I was travelling yesterday. I enjoyed this film, I only watched it for the first time a year or so ago. My only gripe with this was it only went as far as live aid, I wish it would had gone to the end of Freddy's life but I think Brian May didn't want it to go that far. If you are a Queen fan then you are going to love it. I wonder what the movie would have been like if Sacha Baron Cohen had played Freddy, maybe it was just as well he pulled out because Malik was incredible in the role. This is a beautiful edition, Keith.
Hey Gary. It's no problems at all my friend I'm just happy that you stop by every now and again to say hello. I think I remember hearing at the time when it came to Sacha Baron Cohen playing Freddie Mercury apparently he wanted to go into the whole sleazy side of his life. Now that is something that I had no interest in seeing. Freddie Mercury is a hero of mine in the last thing I want is for his memory to be tarnished in any kind of way. So I am someone happy that Rami Malik stepped in and gave us the performance that he did. The biggest Testament I can pay to him is it never feels like acting. It's almost like Freddie Mercury was acting out the entire movie.
@@millerman9991 Yes watching Malik perform was like watching Freddy himself, you can see why he won the Oscar. Keith did you get to watch West World yet.

If you are a fan of Queen then I definitely recommend checking this one out. They cover quite a lot. The biggest Testament I can pay to the movie is they don't feel like actors. It feels like queen is acting out the entire movie

I did a research for Bohemian Rhapsody (the song) as I was supposed to do a research on a historical masterpiece for my course (studied for history teacher). 2 weeks after I handed in my paper this movie came out. I was totally into every aspect of the Queen history and I noticed in the first ten minutes that there were so many historical mistakes. Freddie for example wasn't a groupie for Smile. After this I thought... Am I going to be annoyed by everything wrong in this movie or am I going to enjoy the ride. I chose the last. But afterwards I'm still a bit bothered by how they handled his life. Like the solo career they are blaming him in this movie, while in real life the others were also in pursuit of a solo career. They actually did a tour in Japan before Live Aid. While in this movie Freddie was begging on his knees to be accepted back in het group just before Live Aid.
So for the logical reasons this is in my opinion not a biopic. What is your opinion about this?
Nevertheless I love Queen and I also have this golden steelbook since it came out years ago. I'm a bit confused FilmArena put this regular steelbook in their set. It's georgious, but it looks a bit lazy.
Of course it was never going to be as accurate as you want it to be and I'm sure that is mainly down to pacing issues. To be honest Roberts it never bothered me. They got a lot more right than they did wrong. Like for instance that scene when Freddie ask them to come back for Live Aid I thought was incredibly humorous. Not only that but don't forget Brian May and Roger Taylor had a lot to do with this movie as well and the way I look at it is if they're ok with what they've done here then I'm ok with it as well.
In terms of the Steelbook and filmarena I've actually gotten used to it with them. There was a time when they used to do exclusive Steelbooks but they no longer do it. I have said it so many times in videos but I never allow a Steelbook to define a release like this so it will never bother me
@@millerman9991 That Brian and Roger are involved is for me the problem of the movie in biopic terms. Of course they love Freddie and I love them. But it's their (made up) perspective. I also liked the scene yiu said. But it never happened en couldn't be farther from the truth. Timeline wise and things that happened I think 70% of the movie is incorrect. That's why the Sascha Baron Cohen project was cancelled after years of pre production. It was too close to the truth and he wanted the real (eighties) thing with all the parties and sex. I also understand that this could never be made into a movie. So thank God Brian and Roger stepped in.
The way Roger and Brian were involved with the overall emotional feeling in the movie are a blessing. There are many tearjerking moments and I cried my ass out. Especially the moments between Freddie and Mary. Nailed it to the max. And also the Live Aid performance. It's unmatched.
So as a biopic it failed hopelessly. As a movie that hit you in the guts and make new people Queen fans: it was a hit. Around this time BoRap was also the first classic song to hit over 1 billion views on UA-cam.
You're right about the set. It's still a stunning set. I love the purple/pinkish color schemes in all the promotions of this movie and it's a eye catcher on this set. That there's a standard steelbook inside is too bad, but not a disaster. Especially because it's a beautiful steelbook. I really love it and never thought about it. But you're right about making it embossed. That would make it perfect.

@reprobert I completely understand what you are saying Robert. I treat Bohemian Rhapsody much similar to the way I treat Rocket Man. It is by no means an accurate biopic but I still was highly entertained by what I got. It's so hard to sometimes get these biopics right. Even the recent Elvis movie they got it so wrong in so many places. But it is an emotional roller coaster. It has a lot of its funny moments as well and absolutely top performance from everybody involved.

Absolutely. I always try and stay ahead of myself when it comes to videos because you never know there could be a week where you're not in the mood to do videos so at least you have backups
I watched this movie in the theater atleast 3 times. Then at home. Such a good movie. Even tho they abused creative license a tad haha. But amazing movie. I’m so jealous of that set bro.

I have a decent collection, not a patch on yours, but I often struggle to get hold of some of the rarer stuff
One of the reasons to why I have never done a video like that is because most of the collector's Editions that I get are normally from eBay particularly ones like I'm showing in this video. Anything to do with filmarena 9 out of 10 times I would get them on eBay.
Keith, did you know that the pervert director of this movie stopped showing up on set with still a month of shooting to go? Star Rami Malek directed the rest of the film himself and did an excellent job!
I think it was Bryan Singer who directed most of the movie. I knew he left the project but I didn't realise Rami Malik complete it. That's definitely news to me
@@millerman9991 It’s also the last movie Singer has directed to date. Not only for his unprofessional behavior on BOHEMIAN, but for all the accusations of being a pederast. It’s a sad story for the kids if it’s true, but Singer has not been charged for any illegal activities as far as I know.
@@millerman9991 Dexter Fletcher finished the movie after Singer left his other credits are Rocketman and Eddie the Eagle
@@jasongore74 I did not know about Fletcher, but apparently he was going to be the original director before Sony dropped their option to make the movie. When Singer was fired it was Rami Malek who personally asked Fletcher to replace him. That must have been how I got that mixed up and thought Malek directed portions. Malek told Fletcher: “You can just come in the studio and sh-t on the floor and it would be better compared to what we’ve been doing here.”

I saw this at the Cinema, decent but not too factual, events out of sequence and the like...maybe I'm just being an old cynic but I lived through most of this as it happened.
I'm sure it's all down to pacing that's why it's out of sequence. Don't forget Brian May and Roger Taylor had a hand in making this movie.
