Born in 74. The Doors are my favorite band, by far. Oliver Stone made that possible. The Doors. Bob. Zeppelin. The list goes on forever. With this movie, Stone opened the door for me. Get past the meanings and enjoy the best part of the trip......this is the trip,.........the best part......I really like....what'd he say? hahahahahahahahah
Totally fictional scene. Morrison never "followed her home from the beach" & climbed her friggin balcony. She came to a show & Densmore was trying to pick her up. He was totally smitten & of course she went for Jim, which infuriated Densmore. He also never locked her in a closet & set the house on fire, for that matter. The movie took lots of liberties, as is par for the course in Hollywood.
Jim knew he would never die if he grew famous. What he did not know was; growing famous precludes death and invites the wolves to feast on your privacy. To abandon solitude is to invite chaos. Silence is mandatory for the creative mind, without it, you will surely go insane. As I have.
Actually, Jim and Pam met at The London Fog, a bar where the doors used to play before the where hired by Whiskey A GoGo...and yes, love street is a beautiful song, the piano solo is amazing. I've always thought that W F T S was a kinda optimist album, well, with the exception of not to touch the earth and unknown soldier, and maybe summer's almost gone or yes the river knows.... and this album was #1 on charts THE DOORS WILL BE OPEN 4EVER
Reminds me of when me and my boyfriend first met. He was the lead singer in a band and was playing a show and he followed me to the bar and he took my hand and made me follow him backstage. He kissed me and I didn’t even know his name. It was love at first sight and we’ve been together ever since.
but I think the spirit of the movie is very cool. This movie is about a legend, a myth and not a real person. I guess that was the intention of the director, to tell a fairy tail.
@@frankzappa1191 Sigue una línea cronológica, pero nah pura fantasía, no digo que sea mala bro es buena a mi me gusta, tampoco es despectivo decir que es ficción
this movie was met with a lot of criticism from doors fans alike however, i really dont think it's all that bad. it showed jim as an alcoholic through half the film and that's what he was an alcoholic. a lot of people thought there was more to him then just that and there was. he was a creative poet/lyricist and it showed this in the movie also. i've been researching the doors/jim morrison for 5 years and understand some of the flaws in the film, but I appreciate it for what it is.
It’s actually highly miss characterizes Jim. I still love it for the artistic interpretation it is, but it’s nowhere close to reality aside from a few blips that, again, show Jim in a very mystical (and almost exclusively) drunk spotlight. Go watch interviews with Jim, the one-on-ones he did with journalists in his home. It really shows who he actually is.
the modern version of this would be him following her she gets offended and pissed her guy sees and beats the shit or trys to fight Jim. and then cops show up and arrest him for sexual harassment. what a world we live in.
@dannycefc yes, it was only a movie. like with the Runaways movie, without the narration by Joan Jett, it was a whole other story. i'd love to hear Morrison narrate it! the 27 club is so freaky/scary. & Jim was facing jail time - hard labour - in Florida. so, in one way or another, the gov'ment killed him.
yeah. like the part when love me two times came on when him an pam were fighting. jim didnt even right that song. and they made it seem like that was what it was about.
Because the first thing out of any girls mouth after he said "I followed you from the beach" would be "GET OFF MY BALCONY OR I WILL CALL THE POLICECKWEIGONWEG" That's why.
This movie is great but most of it was fake. i read john densmore book on the doors and believe that. Jim is my hero and i like how he met pam in the movie:) It was romantic but unrealistic!!!! However i would still give this movie 5 stars because it was creative and always kept me interested........ Infact i only bought it last month and i've watched it 27 times since:)
@thesundancekd1 I really agree with you sundancekd1. I did think the movie started off great and Val was great but then the movie turned into a montage of sensationalism. The thing is is that there was enough substance in real life to make an interesting movie out of the facts. But I dont think we'll ever see that movie.
@sexxxyjenni All good things in moderation lol; "If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite." William Blake
No brother those looks like a dream come true jejeje but you have to know that John Densmore meet first Pamela Courson and one day arrives with pamela at the apartmen when jim used to lived with a beauty hippie and thats when bouth of them fall in love and thats why densmore sometimes used to hate Jim see you man!!!!!
you were were wrong. If they found an obscure figure in community theater the public would not have accepted the validity of the biopic. The meaning behind your point is valid but it has no meat or teeth.
Smolley28 is right. I actually met someone very close to Ray Manzarek, here in L.A. (I play the drums in a band). He told me that Oliver Stone made thousands of mistakes and made up stories and stuff that NEVER happened. I personally read "No one here gets out alive" and there are tons of stuff that, according to the book, never happened. All fake. Fiction. False. It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I am not a Doors fan, but I do like'em. What I don't like is someone like Stone: lier!
@Val5Ft1Der People are just too uptight nowadays. Things and people were much more relaxed then, that's why we were happy and able to enjoy ourselves. He followed her because he liked her which means she should be flattered. Even if it is just a movie. Is it any better for a women to make herself beautiful and then sue because a man actually saw it? He looked and commented and right away it's sexual harassment? Way out.
this is a great scene, but 100% fiction. if you read "light my fire" by ray manzarek, youll read how jim and pam didnt even meet until the doors were already formed and pam came into the london fog one night as they were playing
yeah that's a sort of use of all the information that surrounds the doors to make an other story.... maybe the reality would've been more interesting all these bullshits kind of sucks in my opinion
Val Kilmer was freaking amazing as Jim Morrison.

Man, the song "California Sun" at the beginning fits the scene perfectly.
Thanx for the name of the music
Totally fictional scene. Morrison never "followed her home from the beach" & climbed her friggin balcony. She came to a show & Densmore was trying to pick her up. it's a movie. not a documentary
Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait Oliver Stone took liberties?
it's a great movie though
Next your gonna say he didn’t really dance with real Indian ghosts
I agree ,after the film was released,, Ray Manzarek was furious the way Oliver stone protagonist jim morrison in the film , most of it is fiction
this is the most romantic movie ever.
What crap. They didn't meet this way!

These scene was going threw my head the first time I saw my wife
I like the neighborhood looks cool
It's not stalking, when you're Jim Morrison

love street is on of the best- most "hidden" The Doors songs...
Reminds me of when me and my boyfriend first met. He was the lead singer in a band and was playing a show and he followed me to the bar and he took my hand and made me follow him backstage. He kissed me and I didn’t even know his name. It was love at first sight and we’ve been together ever since.
Good for you. Nice story
yeah... 'cause you're the one... so tender and lovely...
I've never had that work for me as well as it does for him! lol
....the MONK bought lunch!
I watch this on acid at least twice
That was really smooth.
best scene in any movie ever. does anyone know how many people this few seconds influenced?
thank you! ;)

Lastima no esta sub o en castellano 😯
Es pura ficción la película aún así me gusta

@@freddiesimmons8730 de hecho la peli ,no sigue una línea del tiempo, si algo tiene stone es alterar los tiempos, siempre lo hace

Hey This is David and the song is Riders on the storm cloneUrock43 you can ask me anything about Jim and The Doors.

the doors movie woooao
Jim and Pam made the perfect couple though both bad for each other. Val and Meg were perfect for the parts. All 4 were/are beautiful looking people.
this movie was met with a lot of criticism from doors fans alike however, i really dont think it's all that bad. it showed jim as an alcoholic through half the film and that's what he was an alcoholic. a lot of people thought there was more to him then just that and there was. he was a creative poet/lyricist and it showed this in the movie also. i've been researching the doors/jim morrison for 5 years and understand some of the flaws in the film, but I appreciate it for what it is.

@JoAqUiNBandit Thank you!!! :)
So sweet...do you have the next part were Pam and Jim were looking the stars
LOL!!..I hear you!!
Great scene, even though it's fiction. Meg used to be soooo cute!
Great movie though sad near the end of course. I like to watch the first half of the movie before it went bad.
the modern version of this would be him following her she gets offended and pissed her guy sees and beats the shit or trys to fight Jim. and then cops show up and arrest him for sexual harassment. what a world we live in.

No bro he meant the revolution with poetry and rock bro!!!
Its been well noted how they met, this is Oliver Stone's make-believe movie and he's hated for it; deservedly so..

@nirvana50325 The Doors of Oliver Stone
what movie is this?
If only we could all stalk women like Jim did... Ahh the 60s.
1969...where you can sneak into a random chicks house and still find it romantic
I never thought Meg Ryan was a good choice……….
it was oliver stone take on jim morrison most of the events happen but his take was not completely right
