Manzarek is simply one of the greatest American story tellers of our time.

I never heard a more literate speaker in my life than Ray Manzarek. This is the kind of guy who could have become ruler of the radio if he wanted, he was just a genius of speaking. The only other guy I ever heard speak on this level is James Woods who I heard has an IQ of 180 and not even he comes close to Ray.

The Doors was a band of intellectuals.

Ray is great but you've obviously never heard Terence Mckenna speak. My man will blow you away. He's truly a lot like Jim in some ways, just lived longer and was able to flesh out his ideas

He really draws you in with his storytelling, and describes things so you can almost imagine being there. RIP Ray, I wish he were still alive.

This guy deserved all the success he had. Without him, no one probably wouldn’t even know the name Jim Morrison.

Oh I would love to have a fun night just listening to his stories about Jim. Seems like he really treasured those memories and loves telling him and that is good . he kinda celebrates his friends life .

Great storyteller and he has that voice. Rememberances in detail with emotion no less. Having to explain what really happened from someone who was there and on the stage.

Hey buddy, don't try and deny the awesomeness of Ray, Jim is amazing and more skilled of a singer, but Ray is great too, don't be hating. He sang lead on a lot of recordings in The Doors, even when Jim was alive. I bet Jim was happy to hear Ray singing as well, singing his heart through his voice. Whatever, just don't be hating.

He´s a nice and intelligent guy - but if you listen carefully he hardly talks about music. He mainly talks about lyrics and Jim´s stage show and that´s what the Doors stand for.

Once you've been introduced to the Doors, its difficult to listen to anything subsequent. Alas, I must move on reluctantly. Never mind, que up some L.A. Woman.

Ray tells a really cool long story, and the guy's only response is to change the subject in his stoner voice.

You have me all wrong FlashHarry, my youth emulated Jim's life, my pocket also visited the bars with my RoadHouse Blues in abeyance. Jim and the Doors mean as much to me as life itself however, Ray is the best keyboard player ever. ( I also had a Vox Continental Organ with an AC 30amp) My point was Ray ain't no singer. The band will never date.......keep wearing the mascara it eventually will match the hairs growing from your sphincter, look that up.
