Covet on Audiotree Live (Full Session)

- Опубліковано 29 чер 2024
- Covet is the adventure rock trio that accompanies complex, mathematical guitar tunes penned by instrumental phenom Yvette Young. Young began playing and performing early in life, learning piano at age four and picking up violin by age seven. She fused the techniques of both instruments into a specialized form of guitar mastery. It’s a fast paced, intricate, two-handed playing style that mimics the momentum of classical music. Apart from music, Young is heavily invested in pen drawing and painting, and finds inspiration in the interconnectedness of the natural world. Young loves the ocean and uses the tide’s push and pull as a muse for her spectacular guitar composition. Check out Covet on Audiotree Live.

......... You !
Many thank
hey drummer person guy, I hear that double bass and you're a madman for sticking double bass into compositions as gentle as these. You're a madman and it sounds so damn good.
Fabulous polyrhythmic drummer
double bass doesn’t belong much in Covet’s music, though.
KEITH GRIMSHAW HES IN A METAL BAND
ONTOGENY IS HIS BAND
that's how he plays....
Covet needs a part 2 on Audiotree!
they’ve got a couple of new Audiotree uploads from their new album!
So technical yet so relaxing. It's making me too laid back to want to figure out time signatures.
I am at around 3:30 right now and pretty sure it's 4/4 here at least.
gleventhal I’m around 8 minutes in and can confirm the first two songs are indeed in 4/4. No crazy time signatures (yet) but the playing and, well, everything else is indeed crazy in the best way possible. Loving this band so far!
I just watched a pretty lengthy interview with Yvette on the Anderton's UA-cam channel. What a fascinating person and a great interview she is. So open, friendly, and genuine. She's clearly a genius.
Players like Yvette and Ichika Nito are opening up amazing new horizons for finger-style and finger-tapping technique...
as a musician that is still a considerable outsider to this math rock stuff, it’s like they’re playing the guitars like chapman sticks. really interesting stuff
Just saw these dudes with Polyphia and Jason Richardson at the first show of the LIT AF tour! It was so good.
Yvette = amazing, bassist = beast , drummer = tight AF
Good quality music. So cohesive between the three. Sounds innocent, light hearted yet playful and with charisma : ) I feel you girl
Love the harmonic handsplosion at the end of Hydra 18:22
Hydra is so fucking good
I just want to give the Host a hug. I hope she's okay.
lmaooo don't be so patronizing she probably just has social anxiety
Yeah she seemed... interesting
It may be one of her first assignments. She'll get better.
I felt that
She's pretty cute, but yeah honestly one of the better Audiotree hosts.
Unbelievable, so stoked I saw them
amazing band, so many great musicans on Audiotree lately
Thank you Audiotree and Covet, what a wonderful world all of a sudden
I think the lighting is spot on on this one. nice work
These guys gel so well together. Such an amazing performance. So much love for this music!
Wow... just wow. Yvette is amazing, very gifted indeed.
jesus, im so blown away right now... I've been playing piano and guitar since i was 9 and this is just something else... its like a band that doesn't care about money, they just nerd out on talent... love it!
Awesome guys. Very TTNG vibey and that is 100% a compliment.
2019 and so glad they’re getting their recognition! As a guitarist Yvette is one of my crushes:3 and she’s so cool!
*As a human being
Best Audiotree live session, ever!!!
Sounds fabulous and brought me to a wonderful annd eerie trip !
This was my introduction to Covet and the first viewing I wasn't really into it but it was David's bass playing that brought me back over and over until I became a fan.
Hydra sounds so good live
I was astonished at how these these sounds came together. I don't what to say but it made me excited. I was laughing with joy at some of that fingertapping technique! Such an abstract thing to watch
Pretty dope
@Years of Apathy - Your YT Channel name is the exemplification of me :) Brilliant (but I wish it wasn't true lol).
Very nice guys, smooth, melodic and powerful when it needs to be
Nice music it's somehow feels like taking mo to a paradise. An awesome trio band unique music. Rock on COVET.
Beauty
this was published on my birthday 3 years ago, best bday present ever.
I just found this band because they’re coming to city with DGD and HTS. I didn’t know the guitarist was a woman. She’s amazing. This band is amazing. Cannot wait to see y’all live.
Haha I was at the show they played right after this set, who knew! These guys are awesome
Saw them last night on New Orleans. They were amazing.

This is my first time hearing this band. Holy shit. What an amazing set. Blew my fuckin' mind.

Bad Ass! This performance is very impressive!
This is truly some amazing stuff. I'll see them in Seattle.
Absolutely sick! Blown the f away. Great sound.
This. Is. So. Beautiful
this band is awesome, I just found them on instagram and they just made me discover a new genre that could easily fall in my favourites.
I have also fallen in love with the host, but that's a different story.
Imagine Yvette having a guitar battle with Dylan from Tiny Moving Parts omg make it happen!!
Chris14421 she doesn’t like competition
A collab would be super interesting, though!
Some line on Hydra resembles Waves by The Aristocrats..... that's just crazy ! Already in love with this band XD
Wonderful, unique band. Interviewer-host is really agile, great follow- questions and observations.
"Yeah, originally I just like wrote these songs by myself when I just picked up a guitar..." Amazing, really.
Wow! Great stuff!
Kmac should cover one of these songs.
Saw these guys last night opening for Polyphia, I loved them so much
The homies straight killin it
Yo drummer, I know you're looking at this, what the hell is your other band's name, I want to hear it!
My other band is called ontogeny. Ontogeny.bandcamp.com
+Keith Grimshaw LOL this is such a funny interaction
+Keith Grimshaw Yo, this is my shit! Good stuff, brudda.
+Keith Grimshaw This is not damn heavy metal bruh :^D
+Keith Grimshaw Didn't know about that band. What about Roland? rolandbandsf.bandcamp.com/track/enter-the-ronald
She is a guitar maestro!
this got me speechless dude
Brilliant!
keith grimshaw the drummer is in a metal band called ONTOGENY check it out
Can we talk about how hard this drummer goes tho
Yeah that guy took my attention, even if I generally don't pay as much attention to drums as to other instruments when first listening
Idk the bass player kills it too, they are all great. I think I like this live recording better than the album because it’s mixed better.
Guitar is a little hard to hear at times on the album, like those crazy licks on the guitar in hydra @ 16:21
One of the greatest bands on the most radical planet in the galaxy.
i love this so so much. i don't know much about music theory, but i do know yvette really fucking kills it.
instrumental maravilhoso, extraordinario,,, amei
I wish Yvette was my friend
The Gamer Room nah man, I'll fall in love with her. And, you know the rest..
Haha
@@alwan1414 BRO YOU JUST POSTED CRINGE!
We all wish this. Sadly it won’t happen to 99% of us. But we can appreciate how cool she is from the comment section.
@@gothboi4ever sorry guys but I am that 1%.
this band is so underrated
This is awesome
New favorite band
that was more amazing than stars vs. grains of sand.
Fantatstic Bass player and drummer!
Yvette's playing might be amazing, but being able to keep up with it is just as incredible. Solid rhythm section. Beasts
i like covet and chon. call that clean shred. not that dirty shred your dad listened to
adam bell and clean tap lol
My man acting like he never heard of Pat Metheny.
Some songs I kept expecting Yvette to break out into some heavy distortion haha
hell ye
Dirty shred your dad listened to… hahaha I’m your old weird uncle that’s gone to and still goes to all the killer guitars concerts and BUYS their physical products that put food in their mouths and pays their electricity bills. And that dirty shred inspired it all.
this music reminds me that life is still good
I'm getting an instrumental Minus The Bear feel and THAT'S ALL RIGHT!! So amazing!
Listen to more math rock! Check out The Speed of Sound is Seawater, Lions, Maps and Atlases, This Town Needs Guns, Tera Melos,Orchards, many more.
Kevin Adams toe. toe is the best. ahahahhaah
You can't forget CHON man
Totorro
tiny moving parts???:D
AWESOME🔥💜
Man they got sooooo much better with time. They're so much tighter now.
20:00 holy shit, the polyrhythms are so tasty. God damn. Yvette is unbelievably gifted in a way I cannot understand, but don't forget about Keith, that dude is a fucking monster. Great feel.
Its not what makes you feel something
It's that feeling itself
astonishing
Yvette young is such a rare a beautiful bird 🎶
insane, just positively insane
Perfect music... perfect girl!!!
This drummer has a real math rock sound!!
And he comes from a Heavy Metal background (but jack of all trades really).
Yvette young Dear crush keep playing😘😍
te amo yvette
Brutal \m/
GODAM that sea dragon break at 23:17 is on repeat
groovy soul music
Amazing. I could hear "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" around the 17 minute mark. Xx
I hear that too lol. All of Hydra is a banger though
She is so adorable and BADASS all at once. If there is ever another LOTR movie, she must have a part.
the groove that starts @9:04 my goodness
did I mention I'm damm glad to be a youtube addict :-)
hail Hydra
NAUTILUS 🙌
Esto es muy bueno
COVET!!!!
I wanna learn guitar from her.....yvette
Just remember guys... this is the same man on drums as in the falkor music video.
That's incorrect. Keith left Covet before the Effloresce album, so the drummer you are hearing and seeing on Falkor is actually Forrest Rice.
@@noyd4172 Did Keith leave to play in his other band? Always wondered why the switch up...not that I'm ungrateful for Forrest. He's great.
"warm dungeon, im into it" LOOOOOOOOOL!
this is some very tight playing! all talented musicians, i want to check out drummer's band
+Hugo Capelo Same!
My other band is ontogeny
@@kghasno2 i know im five years too late and you're not even a part of covet anymore. but holy shit im big into ontogeny! one of favourites for sure
