I've never been more inspired by a person. Yvette, if you see this. Please know that so many players with unique styles are no longer afraid to play, no longer thinking their style is without merit, and can't wait to create with you in mind. Thank you.
I will never forget the night I saw Caspian live in San Francisco and turning to my right and seeing Yvette standing next to me. Watching Caspian live with a guitar hero of mine was memorable. 🤝
Awesome person. She's so genuine, approachable and kind. I really appreciate the way she interacts with people and in particular, her fans. She deserves all the success that comes her way.
Yvette is leading the charge for all things awesome with the new generation of players, such a joy to see her play and listen to her discuss her rig and all things music.
I so fully appreciate her approach. Wasn’t familiar with Covet when they released the previous rig rundown with her, but I have been awakened to her playing and love it! Thanks PG!
My local guitar store has both of Yvette's signatures and also had her for a clinic a couple weeks ago, I didn't go to the clinic since I didn't hear about it but those guitars sound awesome and play really well too. She's a killer player and seems like such a nice person as well, such an awesome guitarist
Anyone interested in open tunings please look into Kevin Cadogan from original third eye blind - he used several alternate tunings and standard tuning in the first two albums and his use of open strings and attention to the amazing bass playing of Arion Salazar resulted in some amazing song writing and hooks and tones - their opener Losing a whole year is one of the most interesting tunings - it can really narrow down your comfortable keys in that tuning but also creates some interesting problems to solve and ultimately we stumble on more unique things inspired by the differences.
Yvette is great. I wish Ibanez would reissue the whole line of "regular" (Indonesian?) and Prestige (Japan) Talman S and T style (roughly, the pickup configurations for sure, but more Jazzmaster-shaped) guitars on which her Signature guitars are based. There's the "vintage" guitars (mid 90s) and more recent resurrection of those in the 2010s, and the latter were virtually everywhere (online) for a while then all of a sudden not only production (or at least US distribution) ceased, with barely a whisper, but even used disappeared. They've all got a great retro vibe for those looking for an "S" or "T" sound but want something a little different from what everybody else has, even with its somewhat familiar Jazzmaster-esque shape,...but with its own character as well. I love that even the T configured ones have an S-style belly curve and, I think, arm-rest cut, features you can find on Teles but only certain issues, or custom.
This awesome woman needs a rig build by Mason from Vertex Effects and he needs to give her a midi setup super bad. She would be able to do multiple delay and reverb setups without the need for 3 or 4 different pedals.
It's funny how she's going for jokes here and there and he's like "Ma'am, this is no-frills autism. I need to know how many micrograms are in your guitar pick." 😮
Such a cool interview/rundown. Yvette is so great. Very unique. That pedalboard arrangement and mismatched patchcabling triggers my OCD, though. Good thing I can just listen, and not look!
Love Yvette’s style - really pushes the boundaries of what’s possible on the instrument. However, I’m definitely not as big a fan of the fuzzy tone on this album - makes it hard to hear some of the individual notes.
really wish Ibanez would bring the standard, non signature Talman back into the lineup. I really want one, but I'm the kind of guy who doesn't care to buy guitars I plan on selling basically at all. I'd rather save the money and get something really nice I can play for the rest of my life. Some kind of Prestige Talman would definately be on the list. They're such cool guitars, and a thin and flat ibanez neck with straty tones sounds like a dream
Copious amounts of chorus during the intro all while being played on a super-sparkly guitar? How dare she have fun! She'd be so much better if she took her playing more seriously. ;) Awesome stuff, PG!
Yvette’s music is my favorite of all these new math rock shredders, Henson is a Yawn, Nito too, but her’s is a dreamy melodic Chinese influence music. I love Covet too, and I’m 69 years old.
I would rebuild her entire board for free. That thing is giving me anxiety x20. I feel like I can go Super Saiyan 4 with the anxiety alone. I would redo all her wiring, even clean up the pedals with a microfiber and some alcohol. It would look so shiny.

Learning Covet songs is like re-learning guitar from scratch for me. Yvette is such a great songwriter and creative person altogether.
nope
what mode is she playing in ? the tonality is too bright for me, I wish she would play phrygian
Dude. I'm going through the same thing. She took the whole idea of a guitar chopped it up and made it her own. Much respect

As if everyone forgot about jazz players. Nothing new.
She and ichika nito reignited my passion for guitar playing. A true math rock genius and guitar pioneer.

Yvette is an absolute gem. Love her playing and all around attitude!
Yay Yvette! Her Rig Rundowns are becoming some of my favorites to watch because her style of playing and guitar tones and great attitude. So cool

She ia extremely talented!
Shes great!!! Awesome and inspiring playing.
So creative, great playing!
The Freqout pedal is phenomenal. I've had it for a little while, well worth the money!
❤❤❤
thank you guys and yvette. igt was about time to have her back
Yvette is amazing.

Yvette's playing is inspiring; amazingly flowing and creative. And a very nice person as well.

Great rundown Chris Always Prepared Keys! My OCD alarm did sound a bit looking at her pedal board but man, she gets great tones!
Amazing 👏
So original
YEAAAA
I absolutely love this woman. Instant click
Wow,just found my new favorite player!!!
Bad ass young lady!
Yvette really is adorable.
YY model with mini humbuckers would actually be a dream come true!
She talks shop and technicals like she makes the pedals... Yvette is a wizard and I'll learn as much as I can from them1
still remember that dog ash moment back in 2019.
Yvette is fucking amazing
Someone get this gal an EHX Tri Parallel Mixer!! Pretty sure it would do what she was talking about. :)

Bring back the Talmans!
I’d kill for her YY20 in the pink sparkle that she personally plays. Take my money, Ibanez!!
🤘🤘🤘
20:34 We need a cover of "These Boots are Made for Walking" NOW
For some crazy reason her tones and Gran Hechicero sound so similar to me😊

Ooo p90 in the bridge..mini humbucker in the neck ?
Blue sparkle with tort pickguard ? :)
Probably the best guitarist of her generation in terms of mixing technicality with compelling melody. Plus, its cool to hear what a gear head she is.

What kind of wlkinson pickup is she using?

Yvette has simply won at music-ing. 1st place. No contest. She gets all the flowers.

Can anyone tell me what song she is playing in the beginning of the video?:)
Firebird from Covet’s newest album.

Dreamy melodic Chinese influence music is a wild way to refer to a midwest emo inspired sound.

Death by Audio for a signature chorus...?

"don't ask me about my pedalboard" ...and you asked anyway🙄 jk
While other people are dreaming to play good guitar, I’m dreaming to get a free guitar. Is it possible or will it happen to me in the future?
Like the guitar..needs a tort pickguard...more colors..maybe a diff pickup in the bridge...
Mmm should have a matching headstock. Just saying. Also possibly matching finger board with scratchplate

This guy is pretty sterile for somebody with those wide ass hips
The fact that nearly everyone Yvette has played with gets labeled "toxic or dangerous" says alot about her.
