    Dude the truck is sick ! Cool to see someone finally do that generation truck / vic swap . I've been wanting to do the same with a 90 f truck . Now I know it's doable. I would love to pick your brain on it .

    Sounds like you are from around my way? I grew up in Gaston County. Cool Ford Truck. I Love my Fords. I have a 06 GT witg 345k miles and a 05 F 350 with 275k miles. Keep up the good work dude. I miss doing things like this. My body has put a stop to my projects. Heart is still there though.

    Sometimes the algorithm provides! I have a '96 that needs a front bumper. I never knew the later years would fit, and I think yours looks pretty damn good! I wonder if that chassis would work without cutting the bed, almost like a Desert Runner like we did in the '90's with 3/4 ton springs and blocks! Awesome job my friend! Subscribed with a thumbs up!

      @brianhudak5103 there is a company that builds the brackets to bolt this bumper to these trucks. This truck is on a crown vic chassis so I had to make my own mounts. So if yours is still on the factory frame there's someone who makes the mounts to make it less of a headache

    Very good work, my man! I'm in Raleigh, I have been considering various pickup chassis swaps. The Crown Vic is often used for trucks and cars both, but it is pretty damn wide and often looks weird, which is why I clicked because yours doesn't. It has a good stance, and while the wheels crowd the wheelwells a tad, it's perfect! Was it hard to find the right offset on the wheels? Most of the swaps I've seen (on older bodies) keep the stock Crown Vic wheels, and that's not a great look... I gave you a like and subscribed, good luck with your channel and give us more!

    • @thatcarolinainterceptor1273
      @thatcarolinainterceptor1273  Місяць тому

      @chrissimes9445 believe it or not I got lucky. I got the wheels off marketplace for 400 bucks. There 18x10 all the way around if you went with a narrower wheel it would solve the crouding issue. I like the wide stance because of the aggressive look and also I do a ton of mountain driving so the wide and low chassis sticks alot better than a truck chassis probably could. Thanks for the follow

      @SamuelReed-j5i make sure you have something that can lift and lower the cab. I had to do it by me and a few buddy's picking it up and moving it multiple times to get everything where it needs to be

    • @thatcarolinainterceptor1273
      @thatcarolinainterceptor1273  2 місяці тому

      @hackitgarage6503 have access to a post lift. It will save your back lol. Also if your able to remove the cab and front clip as one peice it will help you get things lined up. You will need to cut your factory radiator support but you can use the original mounting holes with the mounts you'll need to build for the frame.

    Really like your work, how long did it take to get the body lined up to the frame?

    • @thatcarolinainterceptor1273
      @thatcarolinainterceptor1273  2 місяці тому +3

      @tatemrichey8698 with the limited resources I had ( me, 2 buddies, a welder and a measuring tape ) ide say a weekend. From front wheel center to rear wheel center there's very little difference and that can be adjusted by moving the bed forwards or backwards. I did have to cut some off the front and back of the vics frame but no cutting was needed between the wheels. Not very difficult if you have a car lift. We could have probably had it mounted in a day but we had to lift the cab by hand. And it being winter I had to constantly heat the metal before welding anything

      @oe3129 it was an 03 and no it wasn't a pi. I got the doner car for like 200 bucks so I couldn't complain. The lx and pi are the same as far as this swap goes and all parts are interchangeable

      @thatcarolinainterceptor1273 thanks for the reply! I'm thinking of using the early 90 vic for a fram swap

    • @thatcarolinainterceptor1273
      @thatcarolinainterceptor1273  Місяць тому +1

      @oe3129 you can do that but be warned the 02 and older chassis doesn't have rack and pinion steering and only the 98 and newer chassis has the 4link with watts link. The 97 and older cars use a triangulated 4 link setup. Just something to know beforehand. Best place to get aftermarket suspension for the panther chassis cars Is adtr.net by far

    Good work.. but why do this?

    • @thatcarolinainterceptor1273
      @thatcarolinainterceptor1273  2 місяці тому +3

      @bilboswagg3nz827 in high school I wanted a muscle truck. Could never afford a lightning. One kid had a 454 ss and there was a f150 similar to mine that wasn't a lightning but had been built up pretty good. So my goal was to build something that nobody else could just buy. So I came up with this. The truck handles like it's on rails. I can run down miatas and other cars that were ment to take corners. It rides well and thanks to it nolonger having beams I can raise or lower it without fighting camber issues. No axle wrap in the rear since there's no leaf springs, zero body roll. It's just a ton of fun.

      Did you have to shorten the frame?

    • @thatcarolinainterceptor1273
      @thatcarolinainterceptor1273  2 місяці тому +1

      @melohsparks313 yes and no. So I had to cut some off of the front of the frame and the back of the frame but nothing in between the wheels. If you look on my insta I belive it shows how mutch had to be cut to fit it. I reused the crown vic bash bar mounting plate and rewelded it back to the rails so I had something to mount the bumper to

      @thatcarolinainterceptor1273  2 місяці тому +1

      @joeycanfield489 thankfully I don't live in California so I don't have to register it based off the chassis or something stupid like that. It's registered as a 95 f150. Living in south carolina if I registered it as a crown vic and they ran the plate ide get lit up immediately.

  • @johnbecker5213

    why? the truck chassis is better than the car

    • @thatcarolinainterceptor1273
      @thatcarolinainterceptor1273  17 днів тому

      @johnbecker5213 if I used it like a truck than youde be right. I play with it in the mountains and I cruise town with it. Occasionally a few burnouts and sliding it around but the truck chassis would not have been good for that. The crown vic chassis is fully boxed from factory. It's stiff and rigid. The rear suspention has a 4 link that keeps the axle from torquing and a watts link that keeps it centered. The leaf springs would have caused both of thoes issues. Also the front factory suspention has I beams. Makes it difficult to lower the truck. There's also no camber or caster adjustment on beams but the crown vic has proper control arms and rack and pinion steering. Makes the ride less harsh and at the same time allows me to carve through the mountains with ease. It was ment to be fun. Not a workhorse.

      @2stroketime348 this bodystyle truck or the 91 and older trucks. There's a 72 f100 similar to what your talking about that was at the f100 supernationals this year with a similar setup that used a sunroof out of a town car
