This is a treasure trove of DIY ideas for revitalizing a dated home on a budget. The presenter's practical suggestions and step-by-step instructions make it accessible for anyone looking to modernize their living space without breaking the bank. It's a valuable resource for those seeking simple yet effective ways to breathe new life into their homes.
I’m totally with you about the impact of paint - it can utterly transform anywhere. I never understand why some people don’t grasp that. Love what you did with your kitchen and the outside of your home, stunning. It looked you’d moved home! 😊🇬🇧
In one of my homes we had wooden windows with removable wooden grids/grilles. They were such a pain to clean each square so I removed the grids and stored them in the basement. It gave the windows a more modern look instead of the traditional 6 pane window style. I also painted my oak kitchen cabinets black (Ralph Lauren Bone Black, discontinued) and both sides of my front door and the exterior window shutters black as well (very classic look not trendy). I love all of your updates, you have increased your home value immensely.
I feel like everyone else. Love all your videos! I really think you personally need you own TV series not only are you talented and skilled. Also a amazing mother and wife. Keep the videos coming… hugs from Santa Fe Texas 💜
Hi Kelsey, I watch many home decor videos but don't subscribe to many. I can't believe this is the first time seeing yours and I just love how simple you have made changing designs so easy and affordable. I love your taste and I'm looking forward to new videos and I'm going to check out the older ones. I'm so excited!!!
Just checked out this video, and it's a game-changer for anyone wanting to refresh their space without spending a fortune. The ideas are super doable - who knew a few simple changes could make such a difference? It's like a DIY guide that finally makes modernizing your home feel easy and budget-friendly!
This video provided a wealth of practical ideas to breathe new life into a dated house. The step-by-step guidance and budget-friendly approach were particularly refreshing, showing that a modernized home doesn't require a hefty investment. I left this video with a newfound enthusiasm to tackle my own home improvement projects with confidence.
Great video! I've done most of these, a side from cutting the wood and assembling those projects myself. I wish you'd teach us how to use/cut/measure the saw, etc. That would be so helpful!! That would be a great tutorial series. I'd love to get a small table and saw to take on these projects. In the last room where you change out the throw, some bamboo windows covering would look nice replacing the white window coverings. I did not pay attention throughout the home, but to create balance you could carry them throughout the home.
You’re the bomb! I love how you’ve learned the skills needed to update your house on your own! I like to do things myself but I’m still not as skilled as you are….yet! You’ve inspired me!! Thank you!!
Soo impressive, this provided a range of creative solutions for breathing new life into older homes. The host's emphasis on simplicity and affordability was inspiring, and the transformation showcased in the video was remarkable. I left with a plethora of ideas to enhance my own dated space without breaking the bank.
What a great video! I love you grouped by type of update vs a specific room. And it was budget stuff. BTW, we put took the carpet out a couple of rooms in our 2nd floor and NOW ITS SO LOUD when people walk around. The carpet used to keep it quiet.
If you're looking to give your house a modern facelift without spending a ton, this video is a must-watch. The home updates are both easy and inexpensive, making it accessible for everyone. It's like a step-by-step guide to bringing your dated house into the modern era.
This is really a fantastic resource for DIY enthusiasts like me. The practical tips and budget-friendly ideas presented were not only easy to follow but also extremely effective in giving my dated house a fresh and modern look. I appreciate the clear and concise instructions, making it a valuable guide for anyone looking to spruce up their living space, much thanks.
Can you do a video talking about all the tools you use, what you use them for and as a new DIYer what power saw to first purchase. Thank you. You have really motivated me to get started with all the projects living rent free in my head❤❤❤
Kelsey I love all your videos and always look forward to them. You are so very talented and have really made some nice updates to your home. Thanks for sharing my friend. Blessings ❤️
She paints with no taping off and sloppy edges require a lot of extra work. Tape it off. Primer it first then paint one or two coats. Not taping off, to me, is creating a crap ton more work. But I absolutely love the color of the black cabinet to offset it , counter white quartz tops and the best is the island added. I love it. ❤
Hi, thanks for the video, you've done amazing, very inspiring. 💗 I would like to say, i love love the mantel piece color over your fireplace behind you.. we decided to finish our basement this winter and looking for ideas and color/tone choices for overall look.
Such great ideas. I love transforming rooms, areas and always looking for tips. Came across your channel! Yay! You have an eye for decorating. Plus you have such a sweet comforting voice. TY for sharing your talent with us!!
I switched out my home address numbers too and the more modern style looks so nice. I also found a porch light that complimented the numbers. I just need to change out the entry door knobs…it’s time to update it. 🖤🚪.
You really do have a lovely home!!! Love everything what you did your home. At first I didnt like white brick home but you made it look very cozy. Now I really like it. Hope you'll do more vlog at your home.
Great updates! I am currently updating my switches & outlets. I love all the picture box trims w/pvc, board & batton, window trim that I do not have & accent walls. Currently painting walls & using a gray color for my doors & planning to do my baseboards. I would love some new lighting in my living room & hall space. I feel like I might be able to do some of these things you did.
I came across your channel and watched a couple videos so far. Have really enjoyed the ones I’ve watched so far! I would love to do some accent walls too. Do you have tutorial videos of the different ones you’ve done? Do you ever list the items that you have used in your rooms?
Your channel popped up on my recommended list just now and I so like what you do. I realize this is an old video (but new to me) and I wondered if you could share what color you painted the kitchen door next to the batten project. I love the batten by the way. The door looks like it is a blue color. thank you so much
Kelsey, I love painting, I agree it always gives new life to a room, or kitchen. I was curious what type of paint did you use on your kitchen cupboards? I wish to do my kitchen next.
Great video and great tips. I have been painting and removing wall paper for the past 2 years from a very old Victorian home. The master bedroom is next.
Thanks for sharing and totally agree..having done lots of painting over the years and just a few weeks ago painted front and back door of my home..a simple task that made a tremendous impact. Love your channel. Greetings from Chicago 😊

I kinda wish I we had a central locaction in my neighborhood for the locked boxes. Becuse we have had problems with people gong through our mailboxes and my mailbox is at the end of my driveway and the snow freezes and becomes ice right in front of my mailbox every winter making it a slip hazard. You have some great ideas thnks for sharing.
Hi, what is the blind on the door you painted SW Iron Ore? How is it attached to the door? Also, what is that post made of (that you put the floating house numbers on)? Thank you!
I watched this when you first put it out a year ago, but I came back because I wanted to see how you did the window trim I'm your son's room. I love that, but I don't know how to do it. Can you do an indept video on that, or if you have one and I happened to miss it somehow, can you point me to it? ❤❤❤

Paint lots of things: 1. Paint interior white 2. Paint door and trim black 3. Paint wooden kitchen cabinets 4. Use deck paint 5. Spray paint hardware 6. Accent walls w paint and moulding 7. Love your tips and what you've done with your house... except painting that outside brick!! You had a beautiful, timeless pale brick, and replaced it with cheap paint that's going to need a lot of upkeep... My neighborhood is full of painted brick houses that are chipped and peeling, it looks just awful and it's really hard to fix. You'll have to repaint the whole house every few years, or strip the paint... Plus your original brick looked so stunning and high end!
