- People at one Rancho Cordova gas station were calling friends and family to fill up fast Thursday when an error on the pumps had gas selling for just 69 cents a gallon.
I checked the Go Fund Me and it is at $24,000, 6/18/22 12:30 pm Arizona time. I am glad to see the error and California's people got a small bonus & others responded to the call. With all the hate, division, & distrust in America today, this is a welcome smile generator. Thanks to all for this one!

Geez, are you guys freaking kidding me ? Every person who pumped gas at that price knew that it was a mistake. Knowingly taking advantage of a price error like that is stealing. And hey... if you did it, you did it, but it isn't something to be bragging about on the news, and certainly isn't something that should be endorsed by a news reporter during an interview. It's sad to see this lack of integrity. It gets us nowhere. We need to have each other's backs.

I get your point, but consumers have also taken it on the chin countless times in the past. The moment a news article appears that may have an effect on oil prices, gas stations are raising prices. When the situation calms down, it takes weeks for the prices to come back down. Maybe if gas station aren't so quick to raise their prices, the public would be more inclined to look out for the station owners.
Also, maybe the station owner should have been a little more aware of the sudden rush of people to the station and corrected the situation or close the gas pumps until it could get resolved.
Wow, these people even go on TV and brag about it. 🙄

Getting gas about 5yrs ago I used a pump that wouldn't stop pumping. I called my roommate and told him to get here quick. I filled up then he filled up his truck and 6 10gal gas cans. A very good day. I have another one.
My brother and I were at the car wash and the change machine was giving us $5.00 in quarters for a $1.00 bill. We took all of our 5's 10's and 20's and ran over to 7/11 and changed them for 1's.
We emptied that change machine.

I feel bad for the gas station as they usually make pennies on each gallon.
A load of gas to fill up the gas station comes in at that price. I know it funny for some but I am sure it must’ve been a very stressful day for the owner.

That $6.99 price turned $7.99 temporarily. Low profit means raising the price to catch up with the lost target number.
The manager admitted he made an error and the station lost over 16k and the manager lost his job...i would have said something to the cashier.

Not a glitch. They didn't double check to see if the computer had it right. The employees were probably not trained to know how to check/change it.

Obtaining this gas at that incorrect price was stealing. Hey, Bobby, I went to Walmart, bought 350 dollars worth of groceries and they charged me 35 cents instead. This is great, I'll call all my friends to steal also. The sad part, people feel good when this happens.

It’s not stealing if you paid for it. If an employee accidentally put a $1.50 price tag on a $1,500 iPhone, then they are by law to honor and sell that iPhone for $1.50 and it’s still not considered stealing if you paid for it

The reason the company refused to re- hire him is because they can write it off on their taxes. Not sure if Go Fund Me is taxed...but it's all about the money and I feel bad for John...who seems like an honest guy who made a mistake. Owning up to things nowadays should matter but doesn't seem to.
