    That sanding block looks a whole lot like you are sanding despite the title of no sanding. Lol

      Yes but not as in sanding the entire finish off. What she did was barley rough up the finish which took no more effort than wiping the gel stain on.

      Scuffing is different than sanding the finish off.

    Hi that’s the color I like. Is that laminate wood? Does it have a smooth finish afterwards?

    • @Anikasdiylife
      @Anikasdiylife  5 років тому

      Alicia Alaipalelei yes. It was laminate wood.

    • @Anikasdiylife

      And yes, the final finish is smooth. I also added a couple of coats of sealer.

    I tried a different stain gel, and it wiped off. It didn't dry. All came off 12 hours later.

    • @Anikasdiylife
      @Anikasdiylife  5 років тому

      Angela Blake I am so sorry! I have no experience with any other brand of stain gel. I have only had great experiences with General Finishes. It does take about 24 hours to dry.

      Angela Blake I would suggest a polyurethane coating on it.

    I thought you were supposed to wipe it off after applying.

    • @Anikasdiylife
      @Anikasdiylife  6 років тому

      Yes... depending on the look you are going for. I wanted to cover the old color and wanted a deep rich brown so I didn't wipe it off. On raw wood, you would totally wipe it off.

      @@Anikasdiylife I like the way you did it. I have seen people wipe off almost the entire coat they just put on.

      I do alot of wood staining and I almost never wipe off the stain bc I like the deeper darker colors usually.

    You have definitely sanded way more than what you showed on the video...
