Julia, when a video pops up from you I just feel so happy! You have taught me so much about free motion, art supplies I would have never known about and interesting techniques for using fabric, paint etc... you are a joy to watch and a great teacher! Many thanks!
Oh, Julia, it is Exhilaratingly inspirational to watch you work. Can’t help wishing I could make my brain think creatively as yours does. Thank you for sharing your gobsmackingly Genius ideas. 🥰
Hi Julia! Love when I have notifications from your channel. You are wonderfully talented! I so enjoy your projects and appreciate you sharing your process. Love your glasses! It was so nice to see the pretty face behind the voice. 😊
I enjoy your channel very much, and I am gradually making my way through to see all the techniques you use. I've always loved the idea of multimedia but never thought I was artistic enough to use it. Your videos have made me believe that perhaps I can use multimedia after all. Thanks for sharing your ideas and projects.
Hi Linda, I am so glad you are enjoying the videos. You can do this! Many of my projects are playing around with different art supplies that I have on hand. Some turn out, some don't. My motto is "use not hoard" LOL
I come from The Realm of Junk Journals. Every now and then I find myself in another realm. Wow! It's nice here. I learned many things: ColorBurst on Gelli plates, drop cloth, Silhouette stencil technique...and more. I like how you stitched around your patterns. I'm going to try that. Thank you very much!
Good morning Julia, I love watching your feeds, here in Kent, England. I started free motion embroidery this year 2019 after my husband brought me a sewing machine for Christmas. You have inspired me to be creative and have fun with colour and texture. So, thank you, and keep up the great work. Donna x
As always Julia I am always amazed and delighted with your creations. You work so spontaneously and the end results are unique and beautiful. I really enjoyed this vlog, I am getting into making journals myself, they are such fun. I hope you have a fabulous Easter, I have my two 14 year old grandsons over for the week so not much time left for creating, I am more of a taxi service😀😀. Sending you all my love as always Julia. Big hugs and loves xxxxxxx Dorothy 😘🙋🏻❤️🌟
Hi Dorothy! How wonderful to spend time with your grandsons! That age is challenging but so fun! (And they know how to work all the technical stuff that I need help with!) My son and daughter-in-law just bought their first house, so we spend Easter with them. They had all kinds of projects for us! Have a great week! Julia
Loved the video. You are so creative. I have a supreme slider that has a sticky back. It will cover the feed dogs and also help the fabric slide around.
This tutorial was packed with so much to learn Julia. What a unique design-one of a kind pouches❤️I recently got a Cameo 3 and I must confess that at first it was intimidating but I am now finally able to create using it. I want to make the stencils using contact paper as you show in this tutorial 🥰
It's so good to see you! I love when you use your geli plate and paint fabric!!! I got a new order today for more journals and cuffs so I'll be getting busy and I owe it all to you!
Thank you Marian, We spent Easter with my son and daughter-in-law. They just bought their first house so they put us to work on some projects! It was a fun time. Have a great week. Julia
So good to see you again! Love your hair. Looks really pretty. Another awesome creation. You create the most amazing things. Great gift idea. Love all of them. Hard to choose a favorite. Hugs! 🤗🐱🤗 🐰🐥🌷 Happy Easter 🌷🐥🐰
Thank you Pam, We spent Easter with my son and daughter-in-law. They just bought their first house so they put us to work on some home improvement projects! Always good hearing from you. Julia
Hi Julia! You have inspired me to start my own UA-cam channel . Would you do a video on how to get started with a UA-cam channel? With your tips . I Love your videos and look forward to seeing them every week !!! You are SEW CREATIVE!!!! 🤗💗💗💗Thank you !
Julie love everything you do I just wanted to comment on your juki I own one I was so disappointed the bobbin keeps jamming I had to go to my old machine 700.00 thrown out the door
Hi, When I first got my Juki, I did not get the bobbin in correctly. Could that be the problem? Or, is the timing off? Perhaps, have a sewing machine dealer that has a repair service look at it.
thanks for that video. I usually do my words on things by using my embroidery machine. I have a cricut maker now and can do it this way too :).. did not know about a gel plate, haven't seen it before.( been in the dark) lol. where do you usually get them? What FUN that could be. might have to add a craft room to my sewing room. thank you again. like your project alot..
HI Laurie, I got my Gel Plate from Amazon. They come in many different sizes. I used to have an embroidery machine but it wasn't my thing. Amazing things can be done on one. Thanks for watching, Julia
What machine are you using now? It does not look like the Juki TL2000. I have Juki TL2010q and I am going to begin FMQ. Did you change due to age? Or did you like your new machine foe a reason that your original Juki could not provide? Love your informative videos.
Hi Gail, I am using my Janome Memory Craft 8200. I've had this machine for 10-12 years. It has lots of features and fancy stitches. I bought my Juki 3 years ago because I wanted a machine that sews fast and goes through lots of thicknesses. My Juki only goes front and backwards. Because of all the sewing I do, it is handy having one machine set up for free-motion and the other for regular sewing. I go back and forth from machine to machine. Thanks for watching, Julia
Hi, It's not a dumb question- LOL. I just stumbled onto one a couple of years ago. It's like flat surface that is spongy. Very similar to gelatin. Paint can easily be spread on it and then prints can be made unto paper or fabric. The plate can be cleaned and used over and over. It's a lot of fun!
I made my gelli plate for less than $10.. Also cut your stencil out of stencil material and use Easy Tack spray. Much easier and the stencil is reusable.
I started with a homemade Gelli plate. It was hard to store and started to mold. I must have done something wrong. I do show in another video where I use a Dollar Store cutting mat instead of the Gelli Plate. I have gotten good results with it. Thanks for watching.
Good idea about the Dollar Store cutting mat. My home made gelatin is almost a year old and not a sign of mold. It is sticker than the store bought one, but it still works fine.
Forgot to mention that Leah Day never drop her feed dogs when doing free motion and she just sets her stitch length to 0. Hope that helps your subscriber. 😊
I have to use a cover for my feed dogs and if you don't have it fixed right it will pop out. The back of the plastic plate has one or two little raised bobbles that have to fit into the corresponding holes on the sewing machine plate. It just clicks in and keeps it in place.
Julia, firstly you do NOT look 60! Mixed media and creating keeps us young right? All the money saved on plastic surgery is far better spent on fabric and yummy stuff 😘As always, TYFS your awesome talent. Hugs Kate.
re: darning plate...what if you: on each side of your darning plate tape it down with masking tape? doesn't leave any residue, and comes off easy. I use masking tape for other things in sewing, so this might help.
Don’t tell Mary, from White Cottage, that you haven’t been using your Cameo. She loves hers and uses it ALL the time. I must have misunderstood you - 60 yrs old, you can’t be that old!!
I love Mary from White Cottage! She uses her Cameo all the time and makes it look so easy. I have several of her videos saved to my favorite playlist. And yes- I'm 61- thanks for making my day :)
I’m looking to purchase a gell plate soon. Can’t wait!

I have that type of machine, you have to push the feed dog plate down really firmly, or it pops off... 🤔

Hi Lori, Yeah to your new order! I am so excited for you. I took the piece out that you gave me just to look at it - I'm hoarding it:)
just wonderful. Have a joyous Easter.

What is the name of your Juki sewing machine?
Hi, I have the Juki 2000TL. It’s a workhorse.
Hi Julia, The colorbursts are news to me.....where have I been? You have a few supplies that I don't, but can adapt what I have.
Hi Phyllis, I've got far too many art supplies! I'm trying to use and not hoard!
Do you prewash the drop cloth?
Hi, No I did not prewash. Thanks for watching, Julia
