Hats off to a creative lady. Thanks for inspiring me.
Thank you so much! Happy creating, Julia
I am so enjoying visiting with you! Thanks for sharing your great ideas with us.
Thank you so much!
Hi Julia - I love these covers! Such a fun way to add color with your crayons. I have the inktense pencils and blocks. Gonna play with these for a cover. Using up old pages is a great way to make journals.
Cold & rainy here the last few days. It’s Dogwood winter. Should be gone in a few days. So ready for warm and sunny days! ☀️🐝🦋
Hang in there and stay safe & happy! Hugs. 🤗🌷🦜💕
Hi Pam, Hope you are doing well. It's going to be 70' this week! (happy dance) I will be starting to clean etc at the flea market this week. It's still so weird not knowing if or when it will open. Ugh. It'll get me outside anyway. Stay safe! Julia
I loved Julia. Regards from Brazil

going back and watching your videos for ideas. I want t of make journals as gifts for my nieces, but I want to use the black journals you see in stores in late summer. The journals will have removable cover, so the covers can be used over. At least that's my plan, and i hope i can get the project completed.
Sounds like a great plan!
Ciao Julia, fantastici I tuoi lavori, la tua manualità è 🔝 Grazie!!!!

Hi Julia love the journals. Seeing you use the Gelatos reminded me I have them and have not used them for a long time. I guess I going to get them out. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi Janet, I know what you mean by having long lost supplies. I have been doing some sorting in my sewing room and am finding all sorts of things that I forgot I had :)
Love your creativity ❤️
Thank you! 😊
Great covers Julia ! Thank you . Kind regards - Judi - Australia
Thanks so much! 😊
Thank you for the inspiration. You might have more craft supplies than I do! At least you are using them !
😄 Keep on keeping on.
Craft supplies seem to multiply! Thanks for watching, Julia
Just found your channel and have been binge watching your videos. I especially love this journal. Now I need to get some Gelatos! In one of your videos you mentioned you were in Minnesota, me too. Near Alexandria.
Hi Brenda, We are neighbors! I'm from Detroit Lakes. Thanks so much for watching, this is a wonderful sewing community. Julia
Как здорово!!!
Stumbled upon your videos and I am really hooked. I think I have watched almost all of them. It’s really wonderful the way you share your ideas and talent. While I have been able to obtain some of your recommended products online I don’t have any fabric suitable for your projects. I think there are some stores open that I can call, order and then pick up the fabric I need. Can’t wait to get started!
Hi Joan, I am so excited that you found my channel. This is such a wonderful sewing community from all over the world. I am so blessed. Remember that you don't need everything I use, I am a big believer in using what you have. Sometimes, I am the most creative when I'm on vacation away from all my "stuff". Creating with limited supplies can produce some of the best results. Happy sewing, Julia
Hi Julia, another wonderful video as always.
A helpful tip. (If you do get fusible interfacing on your iron, crumple a NEW dryer sheet and promptly wipe it CAREFULLY across the adhesive area on the hot iron. Cleans it completely. You can reuse it several times. I keep several near my ironing board. 🙂 Lucretia
Thank you so much Lucretia I am always getting that stuff on my iron, will definitely get some of these, they sound really useful. Hope you are keeping well and safe. Dorothy U.K. xxxx🙋🏻❤️💐
What a wonderful tip! I need to clean my iron today! You're the best, Lucretia:)
❤️
Hi Lovely Julia always a great treat when your vlog drops into my notifications box. These journals are fabulous and so in tune with what is so important in our world today. I think younger people would also love this idea, I have put them on my to do list with the girls when they eventually come to stay (soon I hope). You always give us really fabulous projects, always user friendly and wonderfully creative. A huge thank you Julia, you are such a support to us all. You have always been my favourite vlogger and will remain so. By the way I bought the button sewer attachment for my sewing machine as seeing you use yours. It is wonderful thank you for demonstrating it to us all. I hope you are keeping safe and well. I am trying to keep keep busy and productive but sometimes it does feel a bit like groundhog day😃😃. Sending you all my love as always Julia, please keep safe Everyone. Big hugs and loves xxxxxxx Dorothy ❤️🙋🏻😘💐
Hi Dorothy, It is always great hearing from you. I hope you are staying positive and staying busy. We finally have 60'-70' weather. It really helps ones mood! I's still don't know if my flea market shop will open, but I will be cleaning and setting up now that the weather has improved. This whole pandemic has really taught me to trust in my faith. I'm not suppose to be in control! I am so glad you are enjoying your button foot. It really is a time safer. Stay safe, virtual hugs. Julia
I've never sewn on paper before! I do have a TON of scrapbooking paper tho. What a great way to use some of it up. Is there any special needles to get for that?
What a great project!!!
Thx!
Brenda 🌼
I use a regular needle- keep in mind that it does dull the needle.
I also have fabric like this. I'm wondering because I don't have an iron, for the inside cover could I possibly use mod podge for the interface? I do have a small portable sewing machine going to also give it my first try with that as well, see how that works out. I can only try my best, right? Thank you for showing us this lovely piece. I was really inspired by your work. Blessings
Hi Faith, I think the Mod Podge might work. Let it dry completely before edge stitching. Have fun! Julia
Bonjour je viens de découvrir votre vidéo c est vraiment magnifique .Comment faites vous les arbres ???avec quel matrice de découpe ou vous les achetiez ??? Merci .
Hi, These are simple trees that I drew onto a fusible adhesive, ironed to fabric and cut out with a scissors. Thanks so much for watching, Julia
When you punch, are you using the 1/8 or 3/16 punch?
Hi, I am using the 3/16"
Hi Julia, I was searching your videos and the ones that I have watched, and cannot find which little quilt video you made that showed how to make those corner fabric hangers that you sew into the binding. I am at that point with a little quilt, and would like to add those. Can you help?
Hi, Found one! I start the corners around the 10:05 mark. So glad you are getting projects done .ua-cam.com/video/hq_MK90gbC8/v-deo.html
@@stitchesbyjulia Perfect! thank you
Hi Julia.
I just wondered why you prefer that size journal?
Bev
Hi Bev, I'm not sure. I like that I do not have to cut the length off of a 8-1/2 x 11" page. It seems to fit well in the hand, but have a big enough surface for decorating the cover. I also really like the 5" x 7" size.
Where do you get your appliqué patterns, thanks
Hi Cindy, Most are from my drawing, etc. I do have some for sale in my etsy shop. Thanks for watching, Julia
Enjoyed this tutorial. I am assuming the cotton is washed? Please confirm. Thank you!
Hi Sharon, I usually wash the cotton canvas before I work on it. Thanks for watching, Julia
would Cray Pas work?
Hi Carrie, I have not used Cray Pas on fabric but I think they would work. I know they are quite pigmented and blend well. Give them a try! Julia
Do you sell the pattern for the abstract trees
Hi Mary, I don't at this time but it is on my list for future PDF's. Thank you so much for watching, Julia
