Hi again Nigel. I posted a thank you awhile back when I was derailed by assembly of the track links, excuse the pun. Again you have come to the rescue! Assembly the bogies had me stifled until I watched your calm, logical approach to putting this component together. Moving parts are always a source of modeller’s anxiety for me. I like models that sit still and collect dust:). So, thank you once again for lifting my spirits with your generous teaching. You are a gentleman and a scholar!
You are right Nigel. Different skill sets for different model genres. Armor is much different than race cars. Your skills are exceptional. That is certainly not a beginners or intermediate kit. Well done!
Thank you very much for this video. Getting back into model building for the first time in nearly 30 years. I have just purchased this very kit and now I am really looking forward to getting started on it. The tips and tricks you have shared are going to make this build go a lot more smooth. Cheers!

Great video thanks, also just to let you know the weld seam on the turret is supposed to be there, Sherman turrets are cast in two pieces ( top and bottom), the mount on the rear of the turret is to store the .50 cal MG, the little bottle thing is a searchlight stored facing down and probably to late now, but the cupola vision blocks have a slight green tint to them, kind of like looking through a Coke bottle.

I'm glad you've done the whole build online as it seems the Easy 8 is quite a lot better then the Sturmtiger. At least now I have a solid expectation of what the journey will look like.
Welcome back. That is a good looking kit, I'll have to think about some armour kits. It's been quite awhile since I last built one. Great job, welcome back.
Good day Nigel - Thank you for making this video - really helped me as returning to the hobby after 35 years or so - found the bit about putting the running gear together really helpful but would you believe when on the last one, when I was about glue the last hinge on the shock absorber - ping it went - spend two hours looking for it (Can't find it) - currently given up - any suggestions on how I work around this??
That seam line on the road wheels is actually really there on the road wheels. However I’m sure in 1/35 scale it would be hard to see and especially after some use in the real world. There are pictures and discussion on the subject out there. I also remember “Coen” discussing it once on one of his Sherman videos. Unfortunately he has removed the all off UA-cam.
Great build/review Nigel , love the Sherman , but those tracks scare the heck out of me. Have carpal tunnel , so don't see myself messing around with tweezers. Maybe I can use Dragons magic tracks instead. Anyway , I see you got your modelling mojo back. Until the next one , Cheers, Tony / Bronx ,NY
Nigel - are you aware of any aftermarket kits or parts that could remedy the half-assed (for lack of a better term) working suspension system? The fix would be a functional shock absorber. The tricky part being the correct tension of the spring within the shock cylinder, accounting for the weight of the tank and proper shock compression when the suspension is articulated. Definitely a design challenge. 🤔
You might not respond to me since your build was 5 years ago however I've just bought this kit and in the process of building it. When it came to Step A1 (bottom section of turret), my instructions appears to be incorrect by calling out part C2 (I believe it should be C1) but more worryingly my part C1 doesn't have any recess points to fit the two C23 pieces. I note in your video that these appeared to go together very easily for you. Maybe I have a duff kit but I have no idea how to fir the two C23 pieces onto C1. If you have any tips or advice it will be gratefully received.
