Beautiful work as always, I live in Kokomo, Indiana. This tank is actually on display at a local park and was recently restored. Crazy that it's the same tank!
wow, this sherman tank was the first model I built when I was a boy, back in the 90s! I had no idea that you could paint and weather it, I put all parts together and called it done. Still had a ton of fun though.
Have watched most of your videos even though I'm not much into tanks, amazes me that most of the kits that you build are 1/72, they always turn out awesome. bought my first 1/72 kit because of you...Early version BTR-70, should be here in a few days. Keep up the amazing work
I seem to remember if you heat the tank tracks with a hairdryer you can stretch them around the wheels much more easily. Maybe I’m wrong but I’m sure I made an old airfix kit where this was in the instructions. Excellent model as always.
on a personal note, my father drove one in ww2, UK not USA. They were quite quick, but not very well armoured for what they went up against, he said once.
@SCP 096 Not really. The Allies had nearly perfected their tactics of combined arms and were able to coordinate well enough to eliminate any Panthers they came across.
@@beaverchicken Yep. I started making 1/72 scale models for wargaming in the early 2000s, and the Airfix kits at the time (we didn't know about checking to see how old they were) were terrible. The planes that I was attempting to make in the mid 90s were even worse. Although, TBH, when I was a broke student flatting, or broke before I had a job, it wasn't really the quality of the kit that was a purchasing factor, more the price..
Okram NZ Oh I guess older kits are pretty bad, made a few older ones and I have to agree that they are next to shit to build, but their newer fit nearly perfectly, with a few exceptions
Okram NZ I recently discovered an old Airfix kit of the Bismarck from the late 90’s and decided to finally build it. The mould was terrible and the parts didn’t fit well together. Bloody awkward thing. I assembled part of the superstructure and just ditched it as the thing was becoming more hassle than it was worth. I got the new Airfix F4F-4 Wildcat kit however and pleased to say the quality is great and the mould excellent.
Brilliant, just when it looks like you're almost finished you start the next phase ! Your videos are fascinating to watch, such talent, I'm learning so much...thanks for posting them.
Youll get my respect, for building this model! As I saw, what you made with it, with all those gaps and the tracks; that crazy! Props for that and youve done a great job painting it!
When a kit presents problems that make you scratch your head and ask "why?" and then turn the thing into a 1/72 masterpiece like this, it does give even more satisfaction - yes? Detail and paintwork all there as usual. Great result sir.
love watching this channel grow. the models are getting better and better along with the editing and your English!! i don't usually build models any more but you've inspired me to start again and better my own modelling skills. Thanks for the inspiration David and keep up the great work!
Sincerely. I have been watching your channel for far too long and only for the pleasure of watching you working on your models. I have learned a lot from your videos and the more I watch the more I see how super detailed it becomes. Very good indeed. By the way, your video production and performance has achieved its real and final identity. Really good on that one as well. :-)
Me: *carefully uses manual pinvise and still gets a lopsided hole* Plasmo: *uses super high rpm power tool and still nails a perfect hole* Great work as always!
Kevin start the hole by making a small indent into the plastic with a sharp object, eg a pin. This will act like a centre punch and stop the drill bit from slipping. Check the indent to make sure it is in the centre of the gun barrel etc, then work your way up through the drill bits, starting small until you get to your final required size.
Awesome build. So much weathering ! You have much steadier hands than I do, I could not have thinned the light guards like that with a knife. I would have had to remake them in styrene or wire. Great detail idea with the ammo belts. Thanks.
@@kingskunk457, I`m from Russia too, & I like American tanks such a soviet. They are all good in their own way, but, soviet tanks are little cheaper then allied, I think...
Nice stuff, man! Heating the rubber track in hot water before applying would have probably help the track stretch easier. Regardless, you handled things well.
I fucking hate when manufactures fuck up the tracks, and it seems to be such a common issues aswell :/. Half my models have track issues. Like they cant give us damn extra cm of plastic. Easier to fix too much than too little
Fantastic work and a superb result. I'd suggest you need ropes to secure the equipment on the rear deck and ammo not usually carried in open boxes. Dirt gets in and that causes stoppages when firing. Not a criticism just a bit of advice
Nice video! I was wondering when you would do a Sherman 😊🤔. I have that same kit, and had those same issues with the upper and lower hull fit. Lots of trimming of styrene to get a good fit with no gaps. You would think Dragon would fix that issue, but guess it's part of the challenge of this kit, which you met with a successful build! Very nice work! Beautiful finish and weathering! Well done Sir!👍
To je super. U tebe nic jako výmluva typu: blbě to sedělo tak se yo nepovedlo... a jiná co by se dala použít na tenhle kit neexistuje co? Fakt úžasná práce
actuly this is an M4A2 with on 76mm cannon not an easy 8 but bytheway the m4a2 76mm looks beutyful i have found on spott where i can say this is not the easy 8 and this are the tracks the normal tracks from the easy 8 is the T66 track but the m4a2 has the normal track from all the sherman tanks but anyway nice modell
The model depicts M4A3 as can be seen by looking at the engine hatch. You are correct that it isn't an E8 but I didn't catch him claiming it was anywhere and even the box refers to it as VVSS variant.
Let’s say I wanted to make more realistic models, what’s the best thing to get? I’ve always hand painted my models and used water colors for weathering but the realism in yours is next level dude.
O lord, I hope the creators of the kit realize that it's the M4A2 76mm and not a M4A3 76mm (hint on M4A3, it has much wider tracks) (but also good work on the model!)
I think that it is not so clear. For example, Production Order T-9872/1 or T-9872/2 was M4A3(76)W with VVSS tracks. However late Production Order T-14596/1 or T-14596/2 already has HVSS tracks. It is very difficult to recognize Sharman type without a serial number. Also, Sheman has all parts standardized, so it was not difficult to change parts from different types in the field.
Well you made a silk purse out of a pigs ear! I might add that the top of the hull was made from steel plate and was prone to much more rust but the front, sides and turret were all armour plate and didn't rust as much.
Beautiful work, I would like to see you do a vehicle or aircraft that is in a maintenance bay and is torn down in pieces with great detail. 👍

Benjamin Cunningham You put together old kits from airfix? All the ones I've bought, except for my B-17 all had great fits and looked very nice

Hi there, next time you have problems with short rubber track try to place them on the freezer for a while, rubber expands with cold temperatures.
It sounds interesting. Thanks, I will try it. I have only one problem I do not have freezer :-D
refrigerator should work , but ice would be perfect. a possible solution is a can of compressed air upside down, it will freeze for sure.
I really enjoyed seeing you overcome the issues of a less than perfect kit. Great video and thanks for doing a D-Day tribute on this build....
You need to make a diorama with this- like one set during the Battle of the Bulge or Operation Market Garden, or possibly somewhere in northern Italy
