Outstanding mate, good work with the drone footage and on track filming. I own the new jimny as well, I’ll be sharing some of my adventures here in WA soon!
love new jimny!! pls can you tell me what exact winch have you installed? i want to install one but i m a little bit confused. i think yours is the best for the new jimny.. Thanx and i wish you the best. (pls excuse my bad english)
Shows what a Jimny is capable of with a few modifications, the most important being the front and rear locking diffs, better traction and it makes it easier on the transmission and drivetrain, electronic traction control allows snatching which isn't good, a lower low range transfer gear ratio would also make a big difference if it was available like the 6.5:1 for the SJ 413.
You’re 100% right. They’re amazing vehicles. The biggest drawback I’ve found off road is the gearing. A set of reduction gears like you said would make it almost unstoppable.
Just found you channel and I Love it. Hope you can fix the sound up a bit is its a little too soft. Surprised you didn't do a video on Pajero hill. Love that area of mount walker!
Thanks. I’m slowly adding cameras and microphones to try and get a more polished finished product... once the lockdown has lifted I do plan on going back to tackle mount walker
@@BillyGoatJim sweet as, my patrol is pretty capable but I don't think it would make it up mt walker track without 5 hours of winching 😅. I have a vid of my last trip to mt walker with some footage up Pajero hill track.ua-cam.com/video/ulVQM7ch3K0/v-deo.html I'm Also thinking of using some proper gear and editing software after the lock down and having a real go without just phone footage.
Hey mate, great video. Have you found the bigger tyres have made highway rpm a bit more reasonable? Ive heard they do something like 3000 rpm at a 100km/h stock.
Absolutely, they drop the revs and also make the speedo more accurate. I find when the speedo reads 100km/h, the GPS reads 98-99km/h. That being said there is a small power drop, I didn't really notice, as the Jimny isn't exactly fast in the first place. Cheers
Supposedly Jimny has a very good traction control system, also it has live axle suspension which further aids in traction. Does it still need diff locks. Also how is the high speed stability on-road. thanks.
Gday, the traction control is ok but does not stack up against a complete locked diff. They are a hugely capable vehicle stock, it all depends how you drive and where you take it. For me I like to drive slower and more controlled and the lockers are a huge help as you don’t need the momentum you would need without them. The Jimny is not exactly a sports car but once you’re at speed, I find it is very stable, especially once the suspension is swapped out for the aftermarket versions. Cheers
Another awesome vid mate, thanks. You ask us to offer up a trail we’d like to see you and the Jimmy tackle. Try CutRock Rd, Watagan State Forest. Bloody tight fit for a LandCruiser but a Jimmy should have room to spare. :)
I have the MT. AT gives you a lot of control as you don’t need to ride the clutch when you are going slow, however I wasn’t sold on a 4 speed auto on such an under powered vehicle. If the jimny had a bit more power and a strong 5 speed auto I would have gone for that. In saying this a lot of people are very happy with their autos.
Hi Jim, that’s a sweet Jimny you got there. Just curious, does the factory airbox not support the use of a snorkel? Been watching a lot of YT videos, none of the built new gen Jimnys have it
I’ve done a quick walk around the car with some of the mods ua-cam.com/video/6OxIDrDHPlI/v-deo.html. I plan in doing another soon after the next round of mods that’s a little more in depth
@@BillyGoatJim very nice mate yea just bought one for the mrs just trying to decide om tyres now , um how do you find the change in power from the tyre size
@@BillyGoatJim Im running safari snorkel on my 04 jimny cyclonic air filter rather happy with it. Lockers on my list though kinda waiting and dreaming that they will make a harrop locker.
@@BillyGoatJim Really thk. I from PANAMA, and seriusly i want this parts, but when i was looking for it the ARB site "www.arb.com.au/site/wp-content/uploads/pricelists/ARBRetailPriceList.pdf" could not find for the Jimny GJ 2019 model. But now that i know wich spare parts and your video, i can try to contac with the distribuitor on my country for the adquisition [after i save some money :)].
This fourby is a beast i had a vitara back in the day it went hard but your vehicle shows how capable the Jimny can be with a bit of work!!
They’re a great little vehicle cheers.
Sweet Jimny! Nice to see it being used on some serious tracks. Keep the videos coming mate!👍
Cheers, will do.
Love your philosophy of just doing certain tracks!
Love to watch how you drive that Jimny! Good stuff.
Cheers from Denmark
Good to hear, cheers
Just got my Jimny and looking at what mods are worthwhile. Thanks for your videos George, lots of great info and very entertaining.
Cheers, enjoy your new Jimny
The little Jimny, for what it is, punches way above it weight. Capable, reasonable priced, versatile and easy on the eyes.
You’re not wrong there... Most fun I’ve had in any 4wd that I’ve owned.
Outstanding mate, good work with the drone footage and on track filming. I own the new jimny as well, I’ll be sharing some of my adventures here in WA soon!
Fantastic, I’ll be keeping an eye out for that
Billy Goat Jim I’ve just picked up the new Mavic Air 2 as well. Pick it up on Wednesday. Once I get some decent footage down pat I’ll share on here.
I’m jealous, I’ve got the Mavic Air 1 and I love it. The Air 2 looks like it’s a massive step up.
Great vid mate! good to see a vid like this come out as there arnt many that break it down. Keep them coming and hopefully see you out there!
Cheers mate. Got a new one coming out Wednesday. Just squeezed it in before the lockdowns. Catch you around
Wish we got these! Would love a new one along with my 86!
Nice, I’d love a samurai to go with mine. Both just as hard to get
I started offroading in Suzuki Samurais then Jimnys, they are very capable straight out of the box.
They sure are. I love the Samurais
Love the format.
Thank you, that means a lot

Great drive ....a classic example that traction control cannot substitute lockers. 👍👍
Cheers, I totally agree
Nice Jimny. Strangely I parked next to it in JS the other day LOL
Jimny is one hell of a compact lil "able off roader" .
It sure is
Can you post video which shows the front winch installation

Hey can you list the upgrades done to your rig .. thanks
Good Day Bro! Which Jimny do you have AT or MT? In your honest opinion what is more beneficial in overlanding?

You ever use the hill descent control going down hill?
Only to try it out, it’s a little to fast for my liking

Awesome!!!
Where do i sign the petition, to bring the new jimny to Canada?
That’s a shame you guys don’t have it over there. Fingers crossed Suzuki has a change of heart
could you do a vid on what you have done to your car and how much it's cost so far and what's next for it

It’s funny you say that, my next video is a review on some seat covers that are a little different to the norm. Stay tuned

what are the specs on your wheels and tyres? Offset and size.
Gday, the tyres are 235x75 r15 BFG KO2s. Wheels are 15x7 king steel rims with zero offset.
The bridal track from Bathurst to hill end
That’s a great track. I’ll add it to the list. Cheers

What size tyres are you running and wheels? Does it have a lift
