I’m 40 and I have been having blood sugar issues and brain fog for 2 decades. Started following Dr. Mindy a month ago now, started fasting the next day, and my brain is actually working. And I’m eating foods that balance my blood sugars, it actually works, I thought I was doomed. For some reason I thought we were doing a 3 day fast. I am at 50h30min and feeling well so I am going to continue on to 72hours. Day 1 I tried a soft dry fast for the very first time. I ran into some difficulty with a caffeine headache but took a nap and that really helped. Today I woke up with no stiffness in my legs and only a little achy in my thumbs but no stiffness. Also I had no brain fog - I feel great! Good luck to you all!❤
That (coffee) headache on the right hand side can easily be helped with a hot water bottle on your right hand rib cage for 20-45 minutes plus water with normal table salt

I do IF all the time, have gone 24 hours, I stay so hungry the whole time that is far as I have gone. Started keto a couple months ago by taking a class by another Dr. am hungry most of the time. I know you encourage exercise in short bursts, but I have been loving my daily early morning long walks where I can zone out, sweat out and feel amazing! I have jump started my metabolism at almost 55 years old. I was stuck and my body is beginning to feel unstuck. No alcohol or if any just a sip or 2, no man made carbs, good oils, walks,,, like Mindy advises. I’ve also lose 3 lbs in 1 week.

But, I have just gone 16 hours since last meal, just broke my fast and I do get full now a whole lot faster, feel satiated & am no longer craving sweets, breads, or alcohol. Just that being almost 55 and thyroid dysfunction...weight comes off slooooooowly!

With Autophagy, I see no results at only 48 hours. I need to just drink water for 5 days straight. Lucky you that it works for only 2 days. I also am too fatigued to get exercise. I can't afford a sauna.unfortunately.
I have been doing ADF(36 hours) for 60 days now. Somewhere in between, I started having chest pain, sometimes left and sometimes right. I never had any issues like this before. So I'm pretty sure it's either a supplement issue or because of what I'm eating during eating days. Please guide how can I stop this issue and if it's common? Many doctors here don't advice fasting, so they won't be of much help unless it's a serious issue.

Dr Mindy, you suggest 20g protein after a 17hour/ autophagy fast, is this to start with/ minimum protein as it seems like this isn’t enough protein to eat within 24 hrs especially if I’m doing a 17 hour fast most days? I try to fit in my 60g protein after going without food for 17 hours or so? X
If your goal is autophagy and you are looking to extend the benefits of autophagy you must keep your protein under 20 grams that day as protein breaks autophagy. If that is not your goal then you do not have to limit protein, use a different variation of macros. 💙 Dr Mindy's Team

I know of some doctors that warn against Fasting. It is so strange how Dr.Mindy Loves it, but other doctors say it's Not worth it. Check out the video. I would like to be able to try this. 17hrs was the longest I could ever go but it won't be on a day I do weights at the gym. I'm so hungry after that.

Lots of water! Break with bone broth.
Make sure you look at Mindy's work on your cycle and do it in the first 10 days of your cycle, so much easier.

Vary your fast lengths. 12:12, 17:7, 18:6, 13:11, 15:9, etc. How about a stationary bike?

I use infrared sauna blanket ( 20 min, 65-68 C, 2-3 times a week, hhen I havent moved as much as I would like to during the day)
