    2:23 Key takeaways
In this video, we’re going to talk about the health benefits of eating beets.
Although beets contain more sugar than some vegetables, the fiber they contain binds to the sugar, which helps prevent blood sugar spikes.
I often consume beets in my salads and beet tops in my smoothies. They are fantastic for promoting a healthy body.
Beets are amazing for boosting your liver detoxification process. They help with the enzymes that break down and eliminate toxins. If you have a fatty liver, it’s a good idea to add plenty of beets to your diet.
Beets can support healthy testosterone levels and estrogen levels.
Beets promote a healthy cardiovascular system by helping support healthy blood pressure levels.

I eat beets the Greek way. In a bowl add cut up beets (after boiling), add onion, olive oil, red wine vinegar (or ACV), spices to taste (salt, pepper, garlic powder or fresh garlic cloves, adding lemon is optional) mix and let it marinate/stand in the bowl for about an hour. It's delicious and if you don't finish it all it can be stored in the refrigerator for a while because beets last very well in the fridge.

I have tried a chog of milk, and following it with my meal to help the burning sensation. I have White Coat so I eat beets the couple of days before going to the doctor to have my blood pressure taken. I try grading my daily amount on my salad and see if the irritation lessens.

I have Hashimoto's, and have dealt with it for approximately twelves years after diagnosis. By listening to your videos and comparing other patients, who have had excellent results in going gluten free, etc. and limiting one's diet, I have found good relief. Since that time, I bought and have been using a Vitamix blender for about a month, daily, and I can see improvements; however, my digestive system seems to have been shaken up by the high fiber and the use of all these beneficials vegetables and fruits. So, besides reducing the smoothies or the complexity of the ingredients, what can be done to not feel so out of it?
Before starting this protocol . . . I was overall feeling good in the igestive track, things overall seemed to improve with occassional bouts of constipation, etc. Now, there seems to be moments of irritation, possible inflamation, and definitely a very uncomfortable and at times pain. I have increased probiotics, which took a lot of bloating and pain away, along with enzymes, along with an occasional enema; however, even after doing a parasite cleanse before starting the blendings with kale, spinach, etc. there still seems to be a reluctance of the body to accept this change.
You hear so much contradictions, and it becomes a using of yourself like a lab rat to see what your body accepts and doesn't. I realize that each of us is different, and with different internal situations that we cannot see, except, perhaps, by external symptoms . . . but it still seems that there could be a more definitive process -- especially for those of us on a fixed income that cannot afford all the testings and proddings, etc. The Vitamix was a going out on the limb in order to iimprove health -- not increase uncomfortability and irritation.
