Bought a metal Jack LaLane juicer and it has held up very well. I buy fresh beets, carrots, apples & ginger and juice them all. All of them work well together to melt gallstones. Pure beet juice even though it tastes sweet is very high in acid so you need to add the other ingredients. Drink on an empty stomach in the morning.

    I like to bake beets (the root) like a potato and then eat them skin and all. They take on a toasty sweetness that is far tastier than all other preparations. I've also tried to eat the greens (the leaves) but when I steam them they become limper than over cooked spinach. And raw they have a salty taste. So for now I'm sticking with the baked whole beets.

    Beets are great when lacto-fermented. The root gets a nice tangy flavour and the leftover brine is known as kvass and is a great probiotic drink on its own. You can make several batches of kvass from the same roots.

    • @szkoclaw
      @szkoclaw 3 роки тому +3

      If you bought it off Amazon it was most likely boiled and the bacteria are dead. It isn't probiotic anymore.
      Make your own. It really takes no skill at all. Drink as much as you like, just remember that such a live product will most likely cause some serious bowel movements if your body isn't accustomed to it :)
      Kvass can be made from many different things, the most popular is leftover bread. I happily drink the brine from any fermented veggies I make, I even deliberately use less salt to make it tastier.

    Hi Dr Berg,
    As you requested I share my story. Because of your videos I started if without keto. First results started to come, like getting rid of heartburn and problems with my stomach( I was never after the weight loss results because I was 1,93m and 90 kilo’s) but I realised I had a bigger problem. I had slowly been getting insulin resistant, which I noticed now because after the meals I had which were bigger in size I started getting really tired and thirsty. So I stopped eating lots of carbs. More health benefit results started: I lost 10 kilo’s which I never realised I had on. I like my body much more now, some people think I’m too thin but I don’t feel that way. I also got rid of lower back pain, had fewer heart palpitations, I felt more positive, less or no pain in the joints. I was 37 years old and felt bad about myself and my health, I am now 39 and feeling a lot better. My problem wasn’t really visible because I wasn’t overweight but I was someone that had lots of exercise. And when my sports came to a hold because of corona my old habit of eating lots of carbs stayed I started to have problems. I think I am one of fewer examples of someone not really overweight but I had messed up my body with too much carbs in all these years.

    I've been making pickled beetroot for many years. I boil the beets, in their skin, for about two hours. After cooking, the skin slides off under running water and it's quite theraputic too! They have to be soft as far as I'm concerned as the texture is great that way. I then bottle with sliced onion and I tell you what, they are very yummy! Your videos are very motivational btw! I have stayed on track for about three weeks and am now doing two meals a day band fasting for 19hrs. I am hoping to get to one meal a day asap but will know when it's time. I have cut out all refined carbs i.e. pasta, potatoes, rice, bread and anything with flour. My inflammation is almost a thing of the past and my energy levels have escalated. I am exercising more frequently and have ditched metforming and levothyroxin... not that my MD knows as they are too busy to fit me in with COVID still taking precedence. I am a diagnosed Type II Diabetic

I haven't been anywhere near a doctor for many years, and have much improved health from watching and taking on board various suggestions by Dr Berg and others. I, like many people, have the potential for T2D, but as I won't go near disease managers, I have never been tested. I have worked constantly over the last 3-4 years to reduce my insulin resistance. I would also like to thank Dr. Berg again for all his educational information. I am three months into keto after having a high blood sugar reading and be put on metformin prematurely (after one fasting reading of about 129). My blood sugar started trending downward after one week. I quickly got onto 18/6, frequently OMAD simply due to lack of hunger or schedule. In the past week or so I have been having daytime readings in the 4.3 - 5.0 range, including after eating, and fasting readings in the 5.3-5.5 range. The last is great as dawn phenomenon had been keeping my morning fasting readings in the 6-6.5 range until recently. The growing list of related complaints and ailments that have eased or disappeared now includes snoring and sleep apnea. Family members recently told me those have disappeared. Finally, as we are traveling, I suspect that healthy keto and IM help with jet lag. We are 7 hours away from home and I adjusted much easier than usual. Has anyone else encountered this? So I bought beets from the market, cut them up, boiled them in distilled water and made juice including the distilled water that I used. I started drinking that juice every morning after completing my yoga exercises. What I found was, my sugar and A1C went off the roof. My A1C which used to stay in lower 6 range went to well over 7. When my my PCP saw the blood test results, he recommended to stop drinking beet juice. So the question is, do you think juice caused this due to high sugar contents in beets or did I do something wrong? Please advise
