- Unless you were living under a rock you have noticed the explosion of teams in real estate over the last few years.
In the US there are approximately 35,000 - 50,000 teams and in three years that number could skyrocket to 100,000!

But not all teams are created equal!
And unfortunately we are seeing some some good and bad practices when putting together a team.
In this #TomFerryShow episode we'll go over:
• 4 Different Types of Teams
• 2 Types of Team Entrepreneurs

Love this! I am the team builder... 19 agents in a year! Happy and awesome culture could not do with out you and this network
Awesome!!! I picked up a few good points that I'm going to use in my business.
Great way to explain it Tom... Artist + operator = brilliance and a great team. Thanks for the video.
Very good video and spot on. Teams need to know that they need many roles to be sucessful
You Rock Tom!!!
Thanks Tom, I am new agent just had my first interview with one team. I have been watching your awesome videos, and doing my homework.
Gracias
AMAZING video!!! So informative!!! I needed this, THANK YOU!
I need this show 10x'd!
Thank you Tom Helps me a lot! Totally a "TEAM" is a solution with good organization!
Once again Great Video!
Ahhhh I am so a hero and minon type person!!!! You described me perfectly! So glad to hear I can change lol
Tom is the man!!!!!
great job and thank you
+Brendan Fleming You got it!
Thanks for this Video. I enjoyed it a lot. I must agree. After years of solo and growing Business you realize that you can't cope with all the fields work connceted to a real estate Business. Therefore I am longing to Set up again a Team in the best successful way as possible
Tom, I love your channel. I need your advice, I am really good at BOTH of those marketing roles you just described and would rather just bring in the leads for a team. Debating if I should I get a real estate license? I had one in Florida for several years but Florida doesn’t have reprocity (can’t spell) with Texas. I feel I can use more creative- but ethical approaches to Marketing with out being licensed. I might consider getting licensed to give referrals to agents.
Great video at just the right time for me as I have been restructuring my team. You just gave me the right definitions of what "was" and now what "is" in our set up and strategy. I'm proud to say I've got 2 current awesome assistants and am working on getting a licensed assistant but also setting up for more agents to join our HUB! :) THANKS!
+Team Reba of RE/MAX Metro Realty Congrats! Were here to help in your journey. Let us know.
+Coach Tom Ferry Actually, I did my free call the other day with Cale and I'm just getting my decision together on which payment package for the Elite program I want to do. Likely doing the 6 month payment, but still love the idea of the 12/mo savings. I've been thinking the same thing as you in the video since I got in the business back in 2003 since I came from a corporate sales environment. I forwarded this to my team and to the managing brokers in my office.
Thanks for the video! Any thoughts on the first steps to adding a person to a team? I am at a point I need a team but unsure of how to add another team member. My husband is our "operator" We just need someone to cover all of the leads we can not. Thanks for any thoughts :)
Start with finding the right kind of people that you would want on your team. Look for people who work hard and have that same drive for success that you and your husband have!
I am so excited about starting a team! I just feel that I have grown as much as I can by myself. I am so grateful for Tom Ferry and his sharing of knowledge! So happy to have found this video! I am thinking I am an artist! haha
Thanks for watching Shelly!
Thanks for this video, I was concerned about joining a team as a new agent because I want to learn every aspect. How long do you think new agents should be on a team before starting my own team?
It depends a lot of different factors (past experience, markets, your timeline, etc.), but there is a whole lot you can learn being on a team. Having your own team is a great goal! Teams outperform individuals!
Ironinc, I just joined a team myself... couldn't be more excited about it too :) Thanks for the share as always guys
+Kurt Rose excellent, what role are on you in?
Buyers agent for the Shannon Jones team 😀😀😀. Super pumped bout it too. Thanks again for uploading all the free helpful content.
@@kieshaadamczyk-bennett Did the team work? Successful?
Nice!
+Tyler Anderson Thanks T!
Do teams provide photos for listings
If we have team, how we structure commission to seller?
I couldn't download the manual. Please help. Thank you.
I'm the family guy that put this kids through college that's living in the basement.. lol.. Episode 61 is an Instant CLASSIC!!!
What CRP is best? What functions are needed in a good CRM? Lastly, How can an new agent afford to build a team with the cost of paying a marketer, TC etc? Your guidance in appreciated.
This was great!
Thanks Tom for a great video. Definitely an Artist here with a Family Team. Roles are defined as our team has grown 100%. Operations is forming now to make life easier...Awesome numbers in 2016...Looking forward to an exciting 2017!
Thank you for the video! I'm just getting started with my education to become a real estate salesperson. At this point I really feel like both the artist and the operator. But once I get more income I will definitely hire a different operator.
As an artist...can I outsource positions to third parties? For example Keeping Current Matters could be my third party "Operator" Any suggestion on third party "Entrepreneur"?
How to create lead idea please
Thanks +Coach Tom Ferry for surfacing some great ideas around team infrastructure. In a subsequent #tomferryshow I would love to see some of the compensation models you are aware of for each of the individual support roles. I know it will vary considerably due to region, but let's focus on SoCal :) #thanks
Did you download the report?
+Tom Ferry Not yet. Is it covered? thx again. ~ Niko
My question is how are the buyers agents compensated on teams. Does the Leader get referral fees for giving them leads?
Each team is a little bit different, find the system that works best for yours. 🤓
Really gr8 highly appreciated
I'd love to get the report mentioned, but going to tomferry.com/unstoppable doesn't provide me it. What's the correct link? Thanks...always love your videos!
Here you go Kaye...pages.tomferry.com/success/?
How do we compensate the other players?
With a 100% brokerage how would you. Break down pay
One day I will have my own team. However, I will not join a team! LOL
Hey Tom,
I am currently in school for my license. Do you think its great to join a team first when you start out?
Kevin, teams are the future of real estate and they can be a great resource especially when you are first starting out. Do some research and check out a few different teams in your area!
you put me into considering joining team
What you are saying there is what it takes to run a business. Shouldn’t that be the job of the brokerage? It sounds like we have to split with the brokerage 30 or 40% plus the team. Something is off.
1, It depends on the brokerage and 2, it depends your team split. Team members are being supplied leads in exchange for a smaller split and a team leader is running their own business under the umbrella of the brokerage.
Teams only work in high sale dollar area’s, not in lower areas which is in MOST of the country. If you haven’t noticed, all people on these videos being interviewed are in big growing markets.. I’m more impressed with someone making it in a small to medium sized market than someone in Houston or Miami. No matter how you look at the numbers, this is not 100% accurate.
Tom, you clearly state Artists make all the money if they hire an Operator. What is your advice for Operators? You can't really hire an Artist. Is that certain demise for the Operators?
