Swarm was too big for the trap! What now?

  • When I checked this trap I couldn't tell if the girls were moving in or had decided to move out. They weren't entering the trap as quickly as bees usually do. So, I had to take things in to my own hands and hopefully I fixed it.

    I had one in the trees with 2 queens and one moved in a trap yesterday. Excitement!!!

      Thanks. I was really thrown off with those girls. Just didn't know what they were up to. I think I did the right thing to make sure they stayed.

    That’s exactly what I would’ve done. In fact I have done it and it was a success.

      So far it seems to have been successful. They were all moved in to the larger hive and I moved it to my apiary the next day.
