He was true to his word for which I've always been grateful. It's obvious that your not afraid of work and for that, I applaud you and your parents.
I can’t tell you how often I leave tanks on. I count it as a bonus if I don’t do it once a day. I finally clipped a clothes pin to every hydrant. I clip it on a finger when I turn on the water and can’t wait to get it off my hand. No more forgetting that tank. FYI - if you have rural water it costs 350 bucks to forget the hog mud hole water for two days. The wife loved that.

A little late, but for rodents, we used wooden rat traps all over the place, had barn owls that would roost in our barns during the fall and winter, and 15-20 outdoor only cats. Some people hate cats, but as kids we loved the things, and we'd feed them in an empty horse stall once in the evenings on most days, in order to keep them around and keep them socialized. Since those days I have discovered bucket traps. They use a ramp, piece of wire, and a rotating soda or beer can on the wire with peanut butter smeared on them. Mice go up the ramp, and slide right off the can when they attempt to get the food. Put water in the bucket and they drown. I don't know that the method would get some of the bigger rats we had around the old place when I was younger, but it works fine on mice.
It’s nice to see that you are actually freaked out by something too. You and your dad always seem so tough when you deal with poop, pee, bugs, heat, cold, etc. but even you hate something.
worked in a feed store when I was younger, they used to mix Rat poison with warm bacon grease.Let it solidify, put inplastic bags and throw in runs (they are blind most, usually run around perimeters of rooms.).had great success with it.

That 8r will treat you well. Our biggest tractor is a 7215R. I also got my Sonne farms sticker in the mail, and I must say, it look great on my truck! I also got a question about school for you. Are you a junior or a senior? Keep up the great work!
Sonne Farms yeah that sticker is pretty crisp! Unfortunately, it looks like I’m gonna miss you by 1 year lol. got a buddy there now who’s a junior who’s seen you a few times.
It's more like the warranty down time. Ours is 2 years old and the def pump went out in it leaving us dead in our tracks during planting. Another issue we have is when it regens we can't shut the tractor off until it is done and that can take awhile at times. It's more or less just a pain
The one way we keep rats out of our barn is to use used kitty litter. It sounds weird, but we used to have a bad infestation of mice and rats now we only find less than a hand full a year. The mice and rats used to eat through bins for horse feed so we needed to find something that worked. An old Farmer from up the road said to try it, and it has worked.
Great video, now subscribing. Greetings from the UK. Love the new tractor. What year is it and how many hours ? Looks immaculate. When helping on the farm here I drive a 8270R (with def !!) and e23 gearbox.
Hi. Mice and rats🤪There are a lot of rat and mice traps that can trap large numbers at once on You Tube. I used a pail with a teeter totter card board affair as a floater with peanut butter on it. I put antifreeze in the bottom, it pickles them, no smell, then burn them, but I kept it out of site from where the cats could get at it. You could just use water, they eventually drown. No worries then if cat eats it. This way you don’t find one dead when you go to grab something.
Safe rat-trap? half oil bucket of old antifreeze, scoop of oats on the surface, a teeter-totter on top, the rats love the antifreeze and the oats look like a solid surface. Best was 17 in one day. Whats the hours on the new rig?
I use 4 inch PVC with a cap on each end, and I drill a 1 inch hole in the middle of one of the caps. I just push the caps on I don't glue them. Obviously you would have to make a bigger hole for Rats. I cut the the PVC in 6 inch lengths and put 4 baits in them. my Niece uses this for her problem with Rats and it works for her.
Good morning colester, hey like the video Very informative. Yeah I like your boots man! They look good I want to buy myself some now. As for the rat poison, I mix peanut butter in with the poison. They tear it up and lick the pan. Also I like your new rig good luck with it. I think today's high in Northern Cal will be 67 degrees. Have a great day.

@@SonneFarms Glad to hear you are sticking with agriculture, great life. My grandparents got out of farming in the late 30s and 40s. My cousin just retired from farming the homestead my great grandparents took in eastern Nebraska. None of his children want to farm. Some of my most satisfying days were working on farm in high school and college. Still in contact with that family, visit them whenever we are in the area. They grew wheat, rye, millet, alfalfa (all dryland), cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, milked a few cows. We hayed with Farmall H on sickle-bar mowers, dump rake, hay sweep from old truck, slide stacker. Baled a little wheat straw for bedding in winter. Cleaning chicken house memorable, still smell ammonia.. Have been in Maryland since 1974. Best wishes, really enjoy your videos.
Cole I was going to say be wary of a cat population exploding when I saw you reply to a comment about previous cats disappearing when you got dogs🤔, maybe the solution is the right type of dog as some comments suggest. Rats and wild pigeons which bug me as much. Sweet new green machine and great video.
Take cheep tin foil pan with sides about 4 inches tall, fill the bottom with bacon grease about 3/8 deep, toss it in the area of the mice, they climb in and can’t get out, when the pan is full toss the hole thing in the trash, works well.
