1972 Dodge D100: Interior Upgrades and Sweet Seats!
Вставка

- To follow up on my homemade floor pans, I needed to clean up this interior and get it closer to being road worthy. Since my new windshield was installed, I bought some new door seals and rubber floor mat. I was in need of simple seats, so I took some from an old camper van and made up some quick brackets to mount them to the floor.
I will probably go to a bench seat someday, because I prefer a bench seat in a truck, but this video should provide some ideas and motivation for other people out there with the same project.

2 things: First, I look forward to what the next Just "______"Joe will be 😁 Second, this so far is my favorite build you've done on your channel. I don't care what the "views" show, hands down this is my type of build!!!! Two Thumbs Up!!!
Thanks Buddy! I appreciate you giving it a mention a few videos back. It’s gonna shock the crap out of a bunch of folks with a stock stroke 406 with cast crank and Chinese rods and heads 🫡. Old school sure grip 4.10, used and battle worn 727. Not bad for a field truck! 🚀
This a winner for sure! I told Joe that since he has been skipping lunch I've been eating extra to help him out.
@@JustMoparJoe Can't wait to see it run! Be sure and make the tailgate look nice..
@@CCR414 will do!
@@CCR414 😂
Nice work on the mounts Joe.
Looks great.
Nice customizations!
Thanks for sharing. 👍
Thanks Ed! Definitely better than the 2x4’s I’ve seen in cars before 😂
Those are the kind of seats, that when you get comfy in them, feels like your butt is getting a hug. 😊
Made for the long rv trips! 😆
Great idea to make a cardboard pattern. My Dad taught me to do that when I was a wee boy. His father was a pattern maker in a foundry in Beloit, Wisconsin. Skills are transferable 😊. Nice job saving the greenbacks.
Very cool! Thanks Mike
Old truck is coming back to life! Looking great.
Thanks Jeff!
The Bonnie & Clyde seats ! It’s looking great . I’m ready to watch it go down the track .
Thanks Buddy! Should be there soon!
You've seen me and know all 5'9" of me would have put those camper seat "risers" in there!😅😅😅 Good work Joe!
Good call! 😂
Lil blue truck is coming together quite nicely! Love the series.
Thank you, Stan! It’s a fun one to play with
Oh Joe, BTW the previous extra seat modifications was extra Ventilation!
🤣😂
Race weight!
The floor mat laid down nice over that padding 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thanks brother! I laid it all out on the metal trailer ahead of time and let the rubber get really hot
It want be long and it'll be ready, for ripping, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Thank you!
Cool seats! Looks great! Cool bracket fabrication, has that super stock vibe!👍
Thanks brother. I wanted something simple and period correct
Hey MPRJ 👋 hope all is well buddy. Good to see the skills of your engineering taking place with the seats. Nice job on the carpet and insulation.. you might have to call this project blueys bullit… take care and May the Lord JESUS bless you always Amen 🙏🏽 👍
Thanks, you too!
Seats turned out nice and gave me some ideas for when I permanently mailed the seats in my 47 Ford.
For that matter when I’m mount the modern challenger seats in my 70 challenger also
Excellent! There was a perfect pair of black leather seats for $110 there!
Looking prettygood so far !! Lots of lunch times there !!!
Haha! Had to take a couple days to knock it out, but can finally drive it when it comes time
I love the seats man. Makes me wish I had thought of that. Keep up the good work on the truck man. can't wait to see it going down the track with that Big Block 400!!!
Thanks brother! It’s gonna be a blast I cruise around in too. True street truck that might surprise some people
Looks great Joe ! You’re making great progress on ole blue
Thanks Buddy!
I got a black dash pad in perfect condition seeing that your blue one is completely wasted away
I’ve got the driver side, but need the passenger side one!
Lunch Break!!
Lunch is over and breakfast is cooking, old John Cope is standing there a lookin..
Well back to work joe, you got a great deal done on oh blue for today.
Thanks Jeff! It’s been an enjoyable project
Nice progress on the D100
Thanks brother
nice job, looks pretty clean. I am 6' 5" myself and that's another reason to love Dodge pickups - way more leg room than a chev or ford.
Totally agree! Thanks brother!
Just Fabricator Joe!😂
Haha! I’ll keep trying 😂
Coming along just nice Joe brother
Thanks Grand!
Like those seats Joe!
I know you dig them!
It’s looking good Joe.
Thanks brother. I will get a bench redone someday, but this will do until then
Nearly the size of early Valiant bucket seats . 👍🏻🇦🇺 .
Excellent!
Those Auta work Joe.
Thanks brother
Nice work brother! Looks great. 🏁
Thanks Tony! I might have you a truck race someday with this rig
Heck yeah! That'd be fun! 🏁
“Only one bullet hole”😂
It’d make a good T shirt 😂
Great job sir!🏁😎
Thanks buddy!
Very good, I think the early Ramchargers used the same seat.
Thanks Greg! I knew they seemed familiar. Still Period correct at least. I like a bench in the trucks. I’ll see how it goes
It looks "Eleven Percent Better."
That’s a win!
Well she is looking better all the time. I have had 0 time for mine. To much spring ranch stuff to do and still doing it😢 hope this weekend to take a bunch off my list. So hope you keep that 4spd 3 pedal option ya got there or get it to me lol 😂
Sorry to hear that! I’ve gotta keep my 3 pedals. Someday I may swap to the 4 speed overdrive trans and have a pistol grip shifter 🫡
@JustMoparJoe that got ya a at a boy lol
I like it!
Thank you!
OMG Joe, your making me think about a short wheelbase motor home, gutted with a stroker big block and nitrous ! Dually drag radials on the rear. A100 seats and a 727 tranny. 🤣
You build it, and I’ll watch! 😂
Im a tad jealous of that floor. Thing is looking sick! I just went with cheap outdoor patio carpet for my floor and spray glued the hell out of it. You mentioned earlier on that you were keeping the patina look, right? I think that would go a long way in keeping the truck looking the best without going too deep into cab/box off frame up resto. If you decide to pop that box off and want to do a rotisserie I can still get you the spacing measurements lol
Yes sir. Gotta stay ragged for a little while. I have shiny cars and can’t drive them anywhere
It wasn't used for target practice. The shots were from the inside. I feel alcohol was involved.
😂 someone used to live in that camper. They probably wore a tin foil hat and bullet proof vest at the time
Love those old squarebodys! You do great work Joe!
I appreciate that!
I’m from south Arkansas who do you use for your engine machining?
Shoot me an email at justmoparjoe@gmail.com
What brand floor mat did you use?
It came from LMC truck. Part number 56-7118
I may have bought their molded industrial floor mats. It may have been better.
Are you going to have the truck at NNN24?
It’s definitely possible! Gotta figure out how to haul 2 vehicles 😂
@@JustMoparJoe use the truck to haul the second one
@@matersworkshop6123 I may have to stiffen up the rear springs and put another fuel cell in before that!
