Three Dog Night had 3 vocalists - Danny Hutton, Cory Wells & Chuck Negron. That's why many of the songs sound totally different from others, but they're all brilliant.

To anyone watching this _ please watch or listen to Sir Tom Jones and the Stereophonics' version of this. You'll see that a guy who was in his 70's when he recorded it still has an amazing voice. Grey power!
You are right that they had a number of singles I saw them a number of times live, and they were always the warm up band to the headliners at festivals, as I recall, so because they had less time to play, they just fired about 7 or 8 hits at everyone, and the crowd loved them.
The identity of Three Dog Night tended to be tied to their three fantastic lead singers. Overlooked was that absolutely incredible 4-piece band that worked behind them and contributed the instrumental arrangements. Let Me Serenade You
You really can't go wrong with these guys. There may be songs that don't click with you, but you'll still appreciate the performance.
I own every one of their albums. They were the soundtrack of my teen years. The first time I saw them live, the Doobie Brothers opened for them, 1971. Really glad you appreciated their sound. Check out Never Been To Spain, Out In The Country, Pieces of April, Celebrate, One, Eli's Coming. Thanks 😊
Love PIECES OF APRIL ….I forgot about that one
To anyone watching this _ please watch or listen to Sir Tom Jones and the Stereophonics' version of this. You'll see that a guy who was in his 70's when he recorded it still has an amazing voice. Grey power!
Plenty of good 3 Dog Night songs to choose from. Joy to The World, Never Been to Spain, Black and White, One, Shambala. Eli’s Comin’. All big hits
Purely a singles band. Not known for specific albums. Always loved this band!
You are right that they had a number of singles I saw them a number of times live, and they were always the warm up band to the headliners at festivals, as I recall, so because they had less time to play, they just fired about 7 or 8 hits at everyone, and the crowd loved them.
For 5 years this band was on top of everything. Yep, bigger than the Beatles, Stones etc...
The identity of Three Dog Night tended to be tied to their three fantastic lead singers. Overlooked was that absolutely incredible 4-piece band that worked behind them and contributed the instrumental arrangements. They covered some truly fantastic songs like this one by Randy Newman and made them their own.
Three Dog Night was one of my favorite groups, One a high favorite song, and the lead on that a favorite band lead vocalist.
