i just discovered her through her documentary. she is an inspiration, very smart and creative woman. i just wish she had given herself more time to enjoy youth and life, explore different partners and be happy, we only get to live once and we all age ultimately..her only bad choices were men, who never had her back, but she survived everything. 👏❤ greetings from the UK ❤👑 SHE IS THE QUEEN
Bless her heart. A perfectionist through and through. I loved the documentary. In fact, it turned me into a fan. The filmmaker knows how to make films and did a great job.
All my life, Martha Stewart was the gold standard in all things domestic. From decor, cooking, gardening, crafts...she held the blueprint like no other. My whole house was painted 30 years ago in Martha Stewart paint colors that complement each other...still love them & wont be changing them...thanks, Martha!
Mine as well!!!! She got me into so much!!!! I actually started a cookie business and a special occasion cake business with her inspiration, and received her magazine. I admire her tenacity and strength and of course, her artistry in all things home :*)
@jennieoh8543 yes...she is a perfectionist with impeccable taste & skill. People have tried to copy her, but they always seem to pale in comparison. She really has inspired generations & I dont doubt her legacy will continue long after she has gone on to decorate the hereafter.
Martha is a BOSS! People just can't handle that she's a beautiful, self-owned woman -- and is more successful in business than most men. This doc made me love you MORE, Martha!!!!
Nope it’s the narcissism they can’t stand. Made evident by her slamming this documentary. And if you wanna talk boss Lady, that is beautiful and successful Nigella Lawson pulls it off better.
She can also be cruel an make people feel very small and stupid. The way she criticized the woman cutting the orange and the other worker in the kitchen was very bad. I thought prison would have made her understand that better. Plenty of men in power act that way too but we call them jerks. No one needs to treat people that way.
Marthaaaa! If you’re reading this, please know how much courage and strength that documentary gives to women! Im a fan now! What a spectacularly well lived life!❤
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing a more complete version of Martha in this. It humanized her in a profoundly endearing way. She was and still is an inspiration.
So many people are lazy, give up on life, and themselves as they get older, settle for less throughout life……NOT Martha!! She is an inspiration to all that desire more in life than the bare minimum!
It is a great documentary. If Martha is upset it’s because she’s use to being in control plus a perfectionist! She’s driven, successful. Showing her past mistakes is good everyone has them.
Never a fan; but after watching the documentary, I absolutely respect and admire her. Is she a pill and a diva? I'm guessing, but above all she is a teacher who sought to raise the bar and reach as many people as she could. Every person is entitled to improvement and loveliness and good food and something nice in their life.
Used to watch her shows with my mom and bring us together and good memories. Mom passed away and to watch Martha enjoying life feels a little of my mom still around. Good for her..
It is a wonderful documentary of a woman who is super talented and was smart enough to use her talents to get where she is. I understood that less successful men would want to bring her down because they were envious of her. Martha has nothing to regret about this film.
I love how she downplays CHEATING but yet she brings up her husband cheating as if it's worse than her cheating. Cheating is CHEATING. lol gimme a break.
Here’s a thing: Martha is a marketing genius business woman. By her saying the she didn’t like the doc it will actually attract more viewers to the documentary!!!
Martha thank you for being whom you are It’s empowering and inspiring watching you grow It’s just amazing what you did for all of us women in this mens world I am sorry you had to go through the pain and injustice Thank you for your sacrifice You are a true inspiration
My take is she doesn’t take ANY responsibility for anything! Kissing a stranger on her honeymoon? Having an affair but it’s ok because she didn’t think her husband knew? The way she speaks to her staff, ugh PAAALEEEEZE! Disgusting! Not surprised she’s alone. Her husband, her boyfriend, her best friend all said Bye Bye Bye for good reason I am sure!
Well, I am going to get slammed. I went into the documentary liking MS. After all her explaining away of her infidelities. I turned it off. Once a cheater, always a cheater.
Thought it was wild that she tried to dismiss her affair while saying that her husband’s affairs were wrong. Also felt that the doc didn’t properly cover the details of the trial. One of the most damning pieces of evidence is that she told her assistant to insert a note on her calendar to sell the stock if it fell and then told her to erase it. She was a stock broker and couldn’t claim ignorance of what insider trading looks like. I do think the media was unfair to her and I do think she shouldn’t have done time when so many men got off who did much more egregious things, but I don’t think she was innocent.
I saw the film and I am impressed with Martha's personality and human values! I thought I was the one who passed difficult times with liers and false friends, through legal disputes and business international and global cheaters... Congratulations Martha for what you managed to carry on your shoulders...I would like to meet you...God bless!
My opinion is that she is reluctantly realizing she is 83 and the documentary brought home the fact most of her life is now behind her. Also, she really is a perfectionist and any small detail that doesn’t emphasize success bothers her.
I am European and did not follow MS closely. I watched the documentary on Netflix and LOVED it. I felt how brilliant she is and have huge respect for her. I have subscribed to her YT channel and cant wait to binge watch her older video and enjoy the new ones. You are inspiration to us women Martha and be proud of what you have accomplished. It is MAGIC !
I saw the movie last evening and felt very inspired by it because it showed me what qualities and skills one needs to have to be able to successfully navigate situations of extreme adversity with confidence and grace. I feel I have not been able to do this in my own life, but would very much like to. My favorite part was when she had a party with the ladies at the prison and cucumber sandwiches were served. And - I thought the limp was her walking through the garden on a cold fall morning. I thought nothing of it.
I just watched her documentary on Netflix, loved it!! She should have put herself out there more as I loved the documentary and wished it was longer! She needs to do a series about her life. She is so interesting. To take all her books, magazines, talk shows, cooking shows and make it big!! Somebody should pick up her story❤❤❤
I’m just now starting to watch Martha Stewart cooking videos! It’s like having my mom still with me!! I really enjoyed the Netflix doc however the trial portion was long and drawn out forcing me to skip over much of it!! Would have loved to hear/ see more of this amazing lady and her exciting adventures!!
I found the documentary to be incredible & she was super inspiring. I hadn’t understood her trial & learned a lot & thought she rocked the jail experience. Kindness under any rough exterior
I watched it and loved it. I have always loved everything she has done but this showed so much more of just how smart she is. It made her look very stoic but then her humor came through and it was really great and showed how much fun she probably is.
The documentary was great! I really enjoyed watching it! It left me feeling inspired to revisit some dreams and goals that I had placed on the back burner. I feel like I can do it ALL! Thanks Martha!
The documentary made me cry. I love Martha and I don’t think it made her look bad at all but in true Martha fashion, she has notes! She is inspiring and a true queen ❤

She impressed so much i was smiling the whole time. Went thru all the emotions: relating to her, being afraid of her and feeling sad for her. When a woman!
She comes off as a narcissist. No remorse for her extra marital affairs. Thinks she knows better than everyone else. Can't stand anything that makes her look bad.
James Comey got what was coming to him when Trump fired him! What a power hungry pig he was, he destroyed Martha's Brand. I had no idea the financial shock was so devastating for her because she got out of prison and got back on her hustle without crying about it.
I’m shocked by these comments!!! She blames her husband’s affair but admittedly cheated on him TWICE before that, and she’s clearly narcissistic. Being upset over the woman using a small knife…I’ve had bosses like that.
She's awful and was often abusive to her staff. But she was driven and took her losses like a champion. She's very imperfect. I wouldn't ever work for her, in fact I was just coming out of design school in her heyday, many of my designer friends went to work for Martha Stewart Living but her reputation was already out there so I said nope. She's still inspiring though. As for the marriage, who knows. The ex husband has been married about four or five times. He seems obsessed with gaining women's attention and problematic. He was no picnic either.
YESSSSS!!! These comments are WILD!!!! Martha is the definintion of a KAREN for sure. Bad attitude. & she barely wanted to be a mother, yikes. Why add that in there. Good thing her daughter clearly is passed that or doesnt let it bother her. But Martha is something else chile 😂😂
So she wanted a propaganda documentary and she didn’t get the image she wanted to present. Doesn’t matter that just two years of her life was about something wrong she did , its still shows the actions of someone no one should have trusted. She blames her husband for cheating, she did the same, what lying hypocrite
I really liked learning about the court case and her time in jail. I hadn't paid much attention back in the day so didn't know a lot about it, and of course didn't know ANYTHING about what she did in jail and how she helped so many women. It was really beautiful seeing that and hearing from some of the women themselves. She's had a long life and career and they really got it all in there. It would have needed to be a two part documentary to focus more on her achievements, so I understand her frustration there, but there was so much to tell, Martha! I honestly left it feeling like, shoot, maybe there are some things I can achieve even on a small level, those simple things that seem so hard until you make the effort. I really enjoyed the documentary and started following her on Instagram. I might by her 100th book too! I think the doc worked on me. Put her in a new light.
We can all nitpick any docu but I came away impressed by you. I think now you're showing your perfection side which to some people comes off harsh. I still liked the doc.
I used to watched the Martha Stewart show after school. Love all the cooking shows. And now the documentary about her on Netflix.. so inspiring! She aged gracefully too ❤
Dear Martha, it's understandable that you felt it could have been done better however I don't think it has tarnished you. You are an elegant, classy, beautiful and successful.
